I want to see rainbows and butterflies
Every time I close my eyes
And reserve the right to be mesmerised,
By the pure delight that awaits me every night;
Waking up in the morning
Ready to put the world to rights.
No more fights or frights.
I want to feel alive.

I want to be happy again.

I want to laugh uncontrollably,
So much that my belly hurts, my face aches
And my body bursts;
Into a thousand little funny bones,
Watch, as the fragile and delicate things,
Carefully piece themselves together and
Turn into big beautiful wings,
Making it easier to see where my sadness ends and happiness begins.

I want to be happy again.

I want to be the one that my friends can depend upon,
Not the one who upon a friend needs to depend,
Incase I break;
Break down into a million little pieces,
Glass rainbow dreams shattered and crumble
As I fall to my knees,
Desperate to breath.
Please; I need to believe.

I want to be happy again.

I want to be the surprise
That hits you right between the eyes
As I walk into a room, because you confuse
My smile with the sunrise,
Spreading its rays like the scent of perfume
And all of a sudden there's no more
Doom or gloom left to consume.
Eyes only on you, I'm reminded right now I have nothing to prove.

I want to be happy again.

I want my heart to beat so fast,
That it beats out my chest
And dances around like only it knows best.
The best way to compensate
For the heart ache that won't go away.
I want my heart to dance my troubles away,
As I watch it with a smile on my face,
Knowing eventually everything will turn out ok.

I want to be happy again.

I want to dance in the pouring rain,
No longer feeling the pain
That each little splash brings to my face;
Clouds the shape of tear ducts,
Pin ****** falling, piercing my skin
As the poisoning begins,
Tainting my thoughts with memories and eventualities.
Too many realities are taking toll on my sanity.

I want to be happy again...

I want you to build me a staircase
Out of rubber bands, hold out your hands,
And carefully lead the way to the forgotten lands;
Where you'll remind me no matter how often rainbows fall from the sky,
You will always be there - my sunrise,
Wiping away rain drops as they escape from the clouds in my eyes,
Helping me to replace each and every rainbow that falls from my sight.

I want to be happy again.

I need to be happy again.

I will be happy again.

I wake up each day,
Rainbows in front of my eyes,
I feel so sublime,
Your presence, I'm elated,
With you my king, I'm secured.

Your love is my paint,
That endlessly supply me,
Incandescent hue,
Limn my world with love divine,
You created paradise.

I'm always blissful,
Finally you're in my arms,
You are the heaven,
That God sent, I'm rapturous.
My king, my soulmate, my all.

Traffic on foot,
Running to and fro,
Trying to go to a destination,
And get away with procrastination.
Forgot your homework?
Surely you'll turn it in late.
Forgot lunch?
Buy one or starve.
Fall in the halls?
Stay down and wait until it's empty.
Get in trouble but not your fault?
I feel sorry for you,
Just don't welcome death.
Fake illness but get caught?
No help there.
School is no fair.
We just have to stay there.
Help us or we'll be the bullied.
Bullies are no fun.
If you're a bully reading this,
Bulling is wrong.
I made this on May 1, 2013. I was thinking about many negative things I wanted to let out.

When it rained,
I tried looking for rainbows
But the skies were filled with dark clouds

When the darkness came,
I tried looking for stars
But everywhere was pitch black

Now that I am lost,
I want to look for you
But I know you too are adrift
In your own dream
Trying to figure out
Where those butterflies are

And if they wanted you to see them

Dancing rainbows heckle the sun.
Jealous that everything orbits the star.
Grateful that the Sól of the universe contributes to their existence but they curse in silence...
Appearing unannounced and bringing smiles on rainy days by ironically displaying multicoloured frowns.
Holding grudges over sunsets.
Plotting against sunrise,
Conspiring with the night.
Unsatisfied with it's mere moments of glory.
Still whispering silent thank you's
Bipolar rainbows.
He was life
Vibrant, Vivacious, and full
talking miles per minute, craving human contact
The very essence of the human spirit
bubbled around him like a clear mountain spring
When he was little people would ask him
what he wanted to be when he grew up,
And he would say
“Alive”
And they would laugh because they didn’t understand

He was color
Every shade, every hue, every connotation
On bright days he was sunshine yellow, and petal pink
On dark days he was midnight blue
and the green of deep still water
Yet no matter the day,
He was always fire
orange and red and crackling and quick

He was sound
Loud and boisterous
All the notes and frequencies wrapped around him
Loving him, protecting him,
keeping him safe
And that is why everyone thought that if he were to fall
it would be kicking and screaming
Loud and conspicuous

But when he fell
He went, so quietly and softly
that no one seemed to notice
And he tumbled down
with no safety net to catch
no helping hand to guide

Because they had forgotten to tell him
That rainbows, while beautiful, are often misunderstood
And busy guardians make absent ones
And others come when you are too old to forgive
And sometimes
growing up alone is hard

So colors turned to grey
Sound became muted
Life lost it's vibrancy
And fire ran, unchecked and unrefined

But darling I promise,
even fire can learn acceptance
Even fire can learn to love itself
Because stars are made of fire
And they are what brings light to darkness
A perfect combination
of midnight blue, sunshine yellow,
And fire
A veil has been pulled from my eyes
This place is where rainbows die

Promised land
Beautiful from afar and above
Your song pulled me in
Shipwrecked me on perfectly chiseled rock

This is where rainbows die

I see now
This place is a 100-story Zoo
Filled with sharks

Afraid that if they stand still
Just for a second
And smell the roses
They will surely die

Their sadness
Caged by concrete
Fences, locks, and labels

This is where rainbows die

Herds of one, chasing pots of gold
In all the wrong places

Can we ever hope to break the mold
Routines and purpose

A million voices crying out for connection
And no one willing to listen

Every brightly lit window a stage
Every man, woman, and child
A far-removed audience

As if color costs money
Surrounded by shades of grey
Ashen, set in rigor mortis

This is where rainbows die

So I say
Let us turn to the children

Let them
Rule our expensive city for a day

Let them
Capture a rainbow in their tiny hands
And paint the city with it

Let them show us that
Puddles are for jumping
And rain is for joyous dancing

Rise up once again
My fellow grown ups

And touch
The magic of the rainbow

Quiet misty twilight peace,
Cooling summers breeze,
A smooth brown floating leaf
Falls from a tree to green grass beneath.

Orange and golden sunset's light
Brimming until night,
And falls browns and oranges
Are nearly winter messages.

Icy blues and snowy whites,
Tip top mountains greatest heights,
Floating white clouds on high
Are in the crystal clear blue sky.

Green vast endless fields grow
Flowers painted by rainbows,
And a clear stream gently flows
Toward the lake that gleams and glows.

And as if in a dream
With these waters glistening,
Leading me right to your side
For I am in love...with brown eyes.
