Awake in the night listening to rain
Well placed ice packs when feeling the strain
Spacing those tents to ensure a safe distance
Getting it right aides coexistence.

Welcoming all with smiles and sweets
Giving assurance with replies on repeat
Directing the lost with maps and good grace
Shifting the freezers to maximise space

Finding the child who wandered from mum
Keeping kids safe while ensuring their fun
Spraying the sinks and mopping with vigour
Trying and failing to pull down that zipper

Queuing for showers at early 5.30
Teens these days don't tolerate *****.
Whenever you need them they'll sort out the flushes
And when the loo blocks they'll get out the brushes.

These are the heroes of New Day each year
Whenever you see them give them a cheer
Enjoy your time with us, have a real blast
We're all here for Jesus - the first and the last.
New Day Generation is a teen camp in Norfolk, UK. It's under canvas, the facilities are supported by volunteers. Real heroes.

Earth spins terribly slowly
Dark sky looks down on me
Day sets, finally...

It’s a new day dawning yet we’re still living in the past
Embracing colonialism and saving the rest for last
You know, the rest meaning the other cultures because you think they don’t matter
But it’s time for that glass of classism and racism to shatter
It’s funny how when I go to University I’m rarely taught by people who look like me
No matter how much the white lecturers may try, they will never understand my cultural identity
So don’t get mad if I doze off in your lecture because I just can’t relate
If I speak up I may start the great debate
Learning about Ancient Greeks and those who lived in Rome is fine
But what about the indigenous people of the Caribbean or stories of what went through the slave’s mind?
University is more than just learning about what makes Western culture great
There’s more to this world that we can truly celebrate
America and Haiti both had a revolution
So if we want to make a change we need to come up with a solution
It’s a new day dawning and we plan to decolonise
Despite our obstacles, we will rise

Today as the sun spreads it's light
I feel calm,
All my desperation for life
has vanished.

My inner clouds which were not
Letting the light reach my heart
Had passed.

New trees are growing everywhere
Flowers blossom once again,
Life and peace has finally
Have arrived once again

I see two green leaves breaking out of earth
After long years of dormancy
A chain reaction is starting
Cuffs are breaking lose

No more cages
This shark can dive to uncharted depths
No more shackles
This eagle can fly to uncharted heights

My weaknesses cower at my strengths
Now I smile through the pain
My positive principles
The umbrella through the rains

I hurt in the dark
My soul was hurtled and I was losing the fight
In ways so dreadful
Dreams turned to nightmares

I was ******* in my insignificance
Daily doubted the benefits of my existence
Now I take my steps with confidence

It is morning now and a flower is blooming
My night was gloomy
Now so brightly the sun shines
And heavens cannot resist my goodness

Even though the scars may remain forever
And my scarry past be forever disturbing
I rhyme to say thank you mama
For you helped me win
Thanks to all the mothers who stand with their sons and daughters, through     thick and thin

My demons don't like
the food that I eat.
They taunt me, sending me
running to the bathroom in defeat.

You are not worthy, they say
as I bow at their request.
That food was no good.
now the toilet bowl is my only rest.

My heart breaks, slowly
and pained tears begin to fall.
I have nothing left to give, I say,
I've already given you my all.

I stand and try without success
to wipe my steady tears away.
Looking in the mirror at my swollen eyes
I remind myself tomorrow is a new day.

Those birds that sit on the grid wires
It’s how they like to start their day
Waiting snugly for the sun to rise
Are they owls? I cannot say.

The sun is rising, warm and calm
An orange hue, only of the rising kind
The rays touch my skin like a soothing balm
Extracting layers of pain from my mind.

Yesterday was a new day
It somehow turned its back on me
Today is another new day
A new chance for my mind to be free.

You were the pomegranate nail polish
I wore yesterday but have wiped off today.
I'm ready for everything to finally change
without you I'll be rearranged; in a better
state of mind, with you I was wasting my time.

Its a new day today
clouds and the sun, painted
all over the blue canvas
while I sit and sip my tea
and enjoy this happy feeling,
all worries kept at bay,
just bothered 'bout my biscuit
kept on the glass tray
whether to dunk it in the tea
or to taste it the crispy way
Why to think so heavy
its just the beginning
breathe a little now, relax
while the air is fresh and breezy

Good morning all,  feeling fresh and positive today :)
and also I read few refreshing poems,  happy to know other are happy too :)... Have a nice day !
A new tomorrow
Will always follow
The days of sorrow.
So don't forget,
Or regret,
Or even resent
Everything you have left.
