Is dreaming of mountains better than climbing them?

How many more can I climb in my frontal cortex than bleed on in person?

Is it the same with relationships? I saw a girl once at the market and I swear I could taste the next 50 years of our lives together in the air between us.

Could 50 real years ever taste that sweet?

I hope someday to say

"It does, but only when you stop fantasizing and start living"

The periwinkle peach grey clouds hang
Caressing the lava mountains
In a good night embrace
The desert still
Listening to the silence
Night falls
The mountains dim
More purple
Fading
Becoming Indistinguishable
From the surronding hazy cloud blanket
The further I am the more it becomes one
One moment blending into another
Becomes time
Becomes feeling
Becomes night
And then
Day.

I look up to the mountains
where does my help come from?

sliding rocks, slithering snakes
Life's patches, wailing winds
thorns in my flesh
cliffs taunt my feet
Serpent hisses all the while

all I see is steep punishment
all I feel is lactic burn
the air thin
I have no fleshly kin
"carry me Eagle, fly me high!" I yearned
but Eagle responds echoeingly
"your footprints carried you all the way,
but through the Way you will have learned"

I look up to the sky
His words  lifted me
I look up to the sky
where does my help come from?

Eagle, how high now am thee?
gone is the Serpent
Eagle's cross shaped shadow sweeps over me
bright light above me
"well  done  my  faithful  servant"
said the Source where help cometh from

I soar on wings like Eagle,
lactic burn leaves my soul
I run and don't grow weary

I saw where help came from.

The goal is to climb the mountain
Not carry it.
Life is a climb, with so much baggage and weight on my shoulders it seems near impossible sometimes

The sun continues it reign in the sky.
More out of habit and natural law than of any intention.
Despite it's apathy and indifference the old star still melts the night's ice, still warms the rocks and feeds the chloroplasts.
See, People get the love story wrong.
It isn't the moon and the sun, it never was. It has always been time, time and that ancient star. The moments that press on, burning, and infinite.
Carrying on the same in spite of us and our human efforts.
They were present at our birth and they will watch long after we have gone.
The sun will come around that mountain bend for the next foreseeable 5 billion years or so and time will be there to documents it's days.

Lands and beliefs separate
But I know
We are watching the same sunset.
I catch the beginning
Colors waltzing
As the sun brushes against
The mountains;
Battling whether or not
I should send you
A message.

Yours is about to disappear
There is an order
In this mess of colors
Clashing into each other;
Dissipating fast
Behind the curtains of the sea
As far as the eyes can see;
Wondering if you will get
A message
From me.

We are thinking
The same thing
Guaranteed our longing will ****
The merit of this moment
When in fact, we alone
Want it tragic.
Hearts aligned
Into the darkness;
Such fools in the process
To believe you and I are that different.

my eyes are dancing
over the glittering sea
the wind is glancing
the sparkling beach
sand in my eyes
salt in my hair
mountains so high
a whistling in the air
for perfection it strives
and i think
that must be life
Out the window there,
Beneath the glassy, blue sky,
The white sun bleaches
Everything beneath its rays.
I wither inside.
I die if I venture out.
And yet, my heart yearns,
My soul burns, to see the world.
Mountains, rivers, seas;
Indeed, just to see a tree
I would leave it all.
I would risk the burning sun,
Drop it all and run,
If forests were there for me.
I would endure it,
Knowing that cool springs waited.
My heart climbs mountains
As I answer phone calls here;
My mind explores caves
As I file cash receipts.
I watch mountain lakes
Turn gold with the dying sun
As I read emails.
But some day, I will reach out
And instead of desk,
I will grab my mountain gear;
Some day, my fingers
Will callous and toughen up:
Instead of keyboard,
I'll skip rocks across a creek.
I will do it all,
See all I've wanted to see,
And feel the cool breeze
After climbing the mountains
And fording rivers.
I'll get out of this desk chair
And go explore what's out there.
Mountains or valleys
Quick heartbeats or slow exhales
Who are you to me?
