You weren't the only disappointment
Everyone around me wanted to tear me down
You weren't the only heartbreaker
My friends did that too
Only they weren't friends
Just like me to you

Yet you can't text
'We're not going to lose it'
'We mean too much to each other'

What a bunch of ******* *******

People hurt
And people break
And there's no one there at the end of the day
Because we're liars
And sinners
Taking pride in heart's breaking and soul's aching

Nightfall. Half-closed eyes
Shattering stars. Daylight cracks
In melancholy cups, in ambient air
Coffee slithers, lungs smolder

Hurricanes sing to raindrops
Rabid bottles, prancing shadows
Footsteps glide, sideways sways
Sobered by non-existent memories

The pale goddess smiles. Dreams
Behind scheming walls. We dance
In a place of vertical confusion
Future's past quickly slips away

Whispers. Bays of broken chords
Forgotten winds. Ruminations.
Transient scribbles, dusty tables;
On misty panes. Forgotten. Decay.
(An amalgam of several past poems.)

pour me a drink
from the grooves
in your hands, honey
i'll lap up your words,
sip your oceans
like wine
because i only find solace
in salt water hallucinations

and you
are the only form
of intoxication
that doesn’t make
me seasick

Tell me, friend,  have you ever seen
A leprechaun in a suit o' green
     With an impish grin?
      You haven't?  Well,
You must not know the magic spell!
            Listen in:

You take a pipe and puff and pass
A green as green as Erin's grass,
      Then take a glass
      Of whiskey and beer,
And chase the smoke, and choke with cheer:
      One will appear!

Your eyes, your face, your hair, your lips,
Your smile, your skin, your curves, your hips,
When I wake I crave your face, when I sleep I crave your dreams,
Your laugh is my nectar and your touch is my wine,
Your existence my world, my lingering lifeline,
I'm drunk on your words and high on your presence,
I long for your laughter and get off on your whispers,
You are an addiction that seeps deep into my soul,
As vile as a poison and as dark as coal,
But I'd still walk a thousand miles, to bask in your beauty,
A beauty so surreal it defies reality,
And I'd still trace your face in my every waking moment,
Counting the seconds till I can see you again,
Even though every second with you is nothing but pain.

Drug me
with your strongest dose of addictions,
between the spaces of our future sins
I embrace
every adventure behind closed doors
as long as mine is embedded in yours
I feel safe
and anxious at the same time
not physically mine
However
for that moment we unite
intertwined, tight
Unbreakable
strength within the space
adrenaline you can’t replace
This feeling
even in absence of time
rough yet smooth, each line
Overlaps my own
and I search to caress the inside
skimming sweat from both sides
It's okay,
slowly caressing my protection
merely fit to perfection
I’m addicted
to the movement, and touch
overwhelming rush
Of serenity, and flutter
nowhere else I’d rather be
you drugged me

Our dance is meant for two.

They pirouette and we weep
They pirouette and we drink
The peals are a haven
We stagger forward
Our appeals beg for haven

The only choreography we know
Is that of broken bottle footsteps
Imprinted on the floor
Turn left turn left
There's not enough time
Turn where turn where
Do we go next?

Our dance was made for two.*

The room pirouettes and we drink
The world pirouettes and we weep
The "tantaraza" is a dance in the novel "Slaves of the Mastery", the second in the brilliant Wind on Fire Trilogy. It's a wonderful novel, and the dance is written breathtakingly.

Written in response to (Want) some barriers too by The Anonymous Joker: http://hellopoetry.com/poem/1016038/want-some-barriers-too/

This is our collection.
