the sun dances on my page
and God's love unseen floods in
if only I felt safe
then I could begin again

why do I wonder why
I wonder
when God's wings I am under?
[composed on January 27, 2014]

So what if I wing it?
I'm growing up,
I'll learn.
I can easily make all these decisions on my own.
Just get all the important things done first.
Check up on things and it comes closer.
So what
if people doubt me.
They'll see when I prove them wrong!
easy!

wait

What do you mean?
Why can't I do-
I just thought tha-

well
yes I can see the water slowly
but surely
rising above my head.
A raft will surely come by and same me!
Or someone will pop out at the last minute and sav-

what do you mean I'm alone?
yes, I see this is real life.
yes, I realize how bad this could go.

I feel the winds start to get stronger.
they're starting to hurt my mind.
I'm still sure I'll be fine.

Can I please have some help.
These pains are getting harder to withstand.
no, you don't understa-
I was only winging it a littl-

No, I swear I can fix this!

No, don't tell me
there is no hope.
Why are you telling me this no-
We had all this time!

Yes, I will keep it under control.
No, it is all my fault.
I will sink.
I am sorry.

I tied myself to this anchor
Avoiding all thoughts of doubt
Even though they were plainly there.
Yes, I know you told me this could happen.
I'll take the blame.

Stay safe and dry.
I'll stand in the flash flood.
Life man
Water in my veins, the absence of my blood.
Only then can you breathe, when your lungs flood.
A new addition to my collection of 20 w poems.

The words don't do anything to me anymore,
Not a metaphor not a simile, nothing.
I do not care for your descriptions of beauty,
Nor lust nor eternity.
The words don't do anything to me anymore,
It is not my choice, your words cannot flood my heart
as the walls have been sealed shut, no more trespassers.
I did love you once.

The rain came in rivers
Flooded the streets
Trees and debris everywhere
Up to my knees
In the sky's sorrow
I couldn't wait
"Till tomorrow"
To borrow your heart
I swam the roads
That overflowed
My heart for yours is what I owed
And at the crossroad
There was no water
No flood
No trees or debris
Up to my knees
Just you
Only you
Always you

What hide behinds, that ******* cloud?
Listen, real close..Shhh!!!

BOOM!!  Nice and loud!!!!

Flashes of light,
ballet across the sky.
Pulsating surges
electrify the night.

The mother is mad,
in all of her glory,
vengeance is amongst us,
hell hath no fury.

The rains subside,
damage is done.
No rainbows to see,
where is the sun?

Those broken bricks told a story
Of a place where dreams were made.
A place which drowned in the floods
Those broken bricks are all that remains.

A decade of silent and grieving pours
Sadly no mountains to explore
Only islands in our dreams
That are vastly full of dreary streams,

Wailing rains have stopped,
But only can I hear the sound of my clap,
This one pour of flood,
has caused many terrors and blood

*- Learn your mistakes before it may cause a storm-
The rain;
Flogging our roof’s heads with sound.
‘Tchssschschschchchcshshcsh…’
like unplugged cable.
Smudges our screens in monotonous tone until
wire is cut, or lightning struck.
A veil of silence
envelopes eyes, off-color.

We stop to think of what might happen.
To stare at endless possibilities
of rain falling
to a stop.

Unless the flood comes uninvited,
Offers things for sale; usually you’re left
without a choice.
Barters a few Armani clothes or a few Dolce & Gabbana
For a sack of rice and a few cans.

Sometimes the flood throws you freebies,
like exotic pets bigger than a cat
Or throw in a few Pesos and get a broken tire.
But mostly they just give you mud and dirt. Mud and dirt.
They fill you up with it
and cover your eyes with it too.
And if you get lucky, they’ll throw you
the essentials like refusing to take your children,
The recovery of a dead faith and you start praying again,
Or they give you an orange boat.

Sometimes the rain comes in to see if you’ll sink
Or learn to walk again.
