Beauty is pain, they say.

And they are right.

Beauty is the pain of knowing that you are

Not perfect.

Beauty is art, they say

And they are right.

Beauty is a collection of

Imperfect

Shapes

Someone has arranged on

Paper.

Not the Mirror.

Beauty is a choice, I say

I don't know if I'm right.

But I know that

Anyone can be beautiful

(With the right paints)

It's really a question of being

Unique.

And what are more unique than your

Flaws?

We are all

White vases

Cracked in a thousand different ways.

Don't cover them up.

Beauty is flawed.

We are too.

Tragic heroes have tragic flaws.
At least, that's what the sophomore language arts teacher had taught.

Juliet and Romeo,
ignorant obsession.
Macbeth,
unchecked ambition.
Achilleus and Agamemnon,
self-righteous ego.
Tragic heroes slew by the pen for a lesson.

What about the ones that succeed?
How could they possibly have flaws?
We hold them on a pedestal for all to see.
Maybe they truly were perfect--at first.

It's easy to fake a smile.
Nothing has changed, we are the same.
Not every flaw can be seen at surface level,
and they're not necessarily vices.

For instance, loyalty.
Now that'll get you killed.
Put that into perspective,
and we're all just tragic heroes with tragic flaws.
I know this doesn't make much sense. It's content though.  Yes, I'm back!

She sits there
With flaws on her body
She sits there
Hair on her legs making a little garden of roses
She sits there
Volcanoes on her face
Looking like they are about to erupt
Yet she manages to maintain balance and equality inside
Well sometimes
She sits there
Carelessly
Yet still with care for the world and everyone, everything, in it
She sits there
Still
With a tornado spinning the thoughts in her head
Making her deal with it because clicking ruby red heals doesn't make the problems go away
She sits there
Clutching the cross around her neck
Mumbling prayers
A cloud releasing small raindrops
She sits there
Being an ally,
A friend,
The person that listens when no one else does,
She waits for you to tie your shoe while everyone else walks away.
But she is also the one left behind on the sidewalk
She still sits there
Knowing how others treat her
But not letting that reflect negatively on how she treats others
She sits there
And look at that,
With a smile on her face,
She continues to grow,
Nothing prohibits her from moving forward,
She is unstoppable,
She is beautiful,
She is grace,
She is laughter,
She is sunshine,
She is light,
The light that awakens the dark,
The light that makes the moon shine,
She is everything and more.
She sits there
Being radiant
Being herself
She sits there
Knowing who she wants to be and what it takes to get there
She sits there
Patiently
She sits there
Being me
I am
Sitting there

As I say my hello to you,
I begin to prepare my goodbye.
Every hello ends with a goodbye.

So hello,

I wish our love wasn’t so cruel,
but our love conflicts with one.
Love had a different journey for us.

I never understood your love,
and you never understood mine.
We confused our love.

I had my flaws and you had yours.
We were imperfect,
even though we worked wonders.

I was once your hello,
then I became your goodbye.
I was another goodbye to you.

Now I’m saying goodbye,
even if you were the first to leave.
So goodbye...

My love is sour, it isn’t sweet;
It walks along on its own two feet;
At times it might seem far away
Maybe you were a **** that day

My love is quiet but never shy;
It won’t idly watch the world go by;
At times it might seem overbearing,
Yet who among us lives unerring

My love is fierce, it won't withdraw;
It fights with word, tooth and claw;
At times it might seem bellicose,
But it’s too late, you already chose

My love is flawed but it is true;
It filled its scars with golden glue;
At times it might seem too unsightly,
But love should not be taken lightly

There's no one without flaws,
Like a paw without claws,
Fall seven,stand eight,
You are not your mistake,
Learn from it,
Before it's too late,
It's ok to fall,
To cry and bleed through it all,
It'll all make sense in the end,
Trust the journey,my friend.
For someone who needs it, including myself.

Your flaws and scars are part of what makes
a stronger you
Be proud to wear all of them.
They are a reminder of the battles you’ve won and the trials you’ve endured.
No struggles and accomplishments define
who you are.
Be proud to carry your wounds
and your stories.
You’re not broken.
You are more.
You’re a warrior.

I am defective
but I am striving
to improve my self
into my ideal self.

I am flawed
but I am striving
to correct my self
into my ideal self.

I am unhappy
but I am striving
to improve my self
into optimal
joy and happiness.
