I've wanted to ****
I've wanted to die
Sometimes at the same time
Sometimes not
Vioces that run the world
Based on a type of body
We have the same blood
"Blood that must be spilled"
Were you lucky with your gender?
Or are you just a girl?
Is your purpose to be silent? To obey?
No. Our purpose is to live
Be happy.
To laugh. To love.
Not fear
A perfect world.
Instead we want to ****
Or die
Its really hard for women to live in a world that was created for men

For every piece of hair swallowed by the sink,
For every sharp bone in my body that's now gotten rounder
And every flap of my soul I puked on the truth
I now kiss myself.
I kiss myself in the mirror
And merge with the reverse;
Kiss my toes for they tickle the sand,
Kiss my eyes for they twinkle like starlight.
I make love to myself in the mirror.
The world is no longer away from home.
I am my body and I am my soul. I come together: I am whole.

Ripening
steady in their brutality
insecurities dripping down my thighs
I anoint the liquid as it touches the floor
the vastness that was once coddled between our fingers
now descends quicker
an illusion of control
security
close knit purity
does it matter
cuts
deepening in their impatience
while the yellow light
tricks your eyes
yet,still nothing
no rushing warmth
pouring from inside me

My body has no axis
so it spins as it wants,
my body has no line
on which to stand,
or on which to hang.
I create with my own hands,
my mind is my own,
I am my own woman,
and this life is only mine.
I've cut off the strings,
that unjustly bind,
I create my own blessings.
I may ask God for forgiveness,
but for any more sin
I will no longer atone.
I create my own ending.
I am my own person, I am my own story.

The blood in my ****** runs on the pure waters of the river
The blood in my ****** smells rotten like the person who ***** her
The blood of my life runs on the white of the cloud ...
The blood in my ****** smells like the baby I abhorred
The blood in my ****** smells like the curse of being a woman in the world without equality
The blood in my ****** smells like the mouths of women stifling rights
The blood in my ****** smells like ***** girls
The one of my life smells bad like the men who force their daughters to marry
The blood in my ****** smells like *** of ****** exploitation
The blood in my ****** smells bad like pedophiles.
The blood in my ****** smells the future. The blood in my ****** is female liberation.

She plucked dandelions from the earth,
as if they were ingrown hairs
living under her skin.
For the earth feels no pain,
and weeds only grow back.

Snowflakes melt,
flowers die.
Some things only last a summer,
but she had already seen a snowfall this May.

The life of a yellow plant can’t be fair,
nor can that of a woman without joy.
We breathe,
we pick,
we...

The solid green field is now a reminder of all she wanted,
and all she feared.

Where do they go,
the dead dandelions?
Rot back into the soil that birthed them?
Press into an immortal being?
One thing is for certain;
those dandelions will never feel at home again.

-and maybe that’s for the best
Maybe

God has always come
Back a woman.
Long before
there was a Jesus,
Eve stood in a Garden
And tried to correct
Her brother's sin;
She was Lilith then.

She packed her bags,
And strolled off  to
the mountains to be
with whomever she
So chose; She left
God and Adam to
Figure it out:
The lie the would tell;
The creature they would
Blame;
The clothes.

Yes, God has come
Back multiple times,
And in multiple screaming,
Female  forms..
She came back as
All the Dahomey
Women, The Amazons,
Salem Witches, Big Mommas
Abuelas
And midwives.
God has. Had an endless
Universe of
lives.

She even came back a
a little Jewish girl;
Stowed away in an attic
During the Holocaust.
In India she came as
Phulan.  In Africa
She came as Winnie,
In Argentina, Chadron.
While men may name
their legends, myths
and fables, just as
Adam did.

God has.never.had
Names and titles
In mind;
  Every time a girl
takes a breath she is
reborn, she is there
Carrying revolutions
In her silences and
eternity in her hair.

She will come back
A fire next time.

My dear sister, I’m sorry I wasn’t there
When they call you names and harass your crown on the street
When they tell you what you should or shouldn’t do with your body

My dear sister, I’m sorry I wasn’t there
When they pluck your honey against your will yet they tell them you enjoy it
When they touch your skin yet they left it bleeding and bruised

My dear sister, I’m sorry I wasn’t there
When they want you to cover your scars and pimples because they don’t meet the “beauty” standards
When they forcibly ask you to shave your hair because it doesn’t potray cleanliness and hygiene

My dear sister, I’m sorry I wasn’t there
When your rose is blooming and the moon is come but they show you their cold shoulders
When they make fun of your shape and laugh it off but they refuse to make a clean breast of it as an insult

Thus rise, dear sister
—for your pain is mine to carry
—for your wound is mine to mend
—for your war is mine to fight

I became everything
You weren’t for me.
You left the door open
Sure that the next would close it
On their way in,
But it took years
For me to grow tall enough
To reach the handle my **** self.
I opened it again
Years later
To walk out
Something I can be proud of.
I spent time in the dark
Afraid of the storms within
Wondering when you’d return.
But the day I realized you wouldn’t
Was the day
I became
A woman myself.
A proud, **** woman.

This one's for the girls who are considered
Mean, who don’t smile at strange men or
Move out of their path just because it’s expected.
The girl who, after playing with the boys,
Was accused of being ‘different’ for not letting
Someone copy her maths work.
The girl who gets angry and
The girls who only know how to ugly cry
And the girls who are told they are unlovable.
You are not unlikable,
People are intimidated by you, but don’t change.
Don’t you dare change who you are for anyone,
You are worth so much more than them.
