Once I ran, ahead of the time
They disqualified me
Then,
I ran, following the time
They again disqualified me

Now,
I’m running with the time
This time, they qualified me

But,
I disqualify myself
For,
self respect.

Too shiny  for your darkness
Too happy for your pain
Too joyful for your anguish
You don’t see I’m the same

I fight hard for my shiny
I fight hard; time and again
So put some ****** effort in,
You’re driving me insane.

You need minds like me
I've bent over backwards to sculpt a vision of a human being
Some 3D model of a stained glass church window
I see that you've turned me into numbers
How thick and how tall?
How much time did I spend in the library?
But you missed the golden numbers
The ratio of the bones in my fingers which I have so carefully crafted for you
You overlooked the seventy hour work weeks (I was a first responder at a climbing site)
And I'm sure you failed to notice the pictures of my therapy dog on the website I built for you
I keep asking myself what went wrong
What about this wasn't good enough?
You.

I searched greatness,
      In  ties
      In  lies
      In  suits
      In  rumors
      In  medals
Never did I find, any.

But,
I find greatness,
      In your sweat
      In your dream
      In your silence
      In the pain, you feel
      In your responsibility
      In your smile that calms
      In the simplicity, you behave
In the effort, you  are making
In the direction, you are moving

yes,
I find greatness,
        In every hope for life
In the moon in a dark
        In the eco-friendly science

Even that has nothing to do with me,
Personally.

Everything he was,
everything he did-
was a constant effort
to be true to the image
he had of himself.

He reminds me of struggle
to be someone else
while believing that he is
struggling to be himself.

Hello everyone,

I'm so very sorry … I feel horrible doing this, but I have no choice. You see, I have published my first book on Amazon/Kindle! This piece (and many others) had to be taken down because they do not allow published material to be available online for free. (Go figure) I wanted to leave the shell of the posts because I felt compelled to leave all your helpful and loving comments. (Silly sentimental, I know), but I also didn't want to just have the pieces disappear without an explanation. I feel bad enough as it is!

I owe ALL of you so, SO much for all of your reads, love, and support. It was YOU that gave me the gumption to FINALLY get off my **** and publish! Thank you all for the warm comments, camaraderie, and encouragement! I will still be here, reading, uploading and just being the Rascal that I am. How could I EVER leave you guys?

The book is called “The Way I See It – FictionPhilosophySoul Food” and it will be FREE for the first few days on Kindle Select, so watch for it, if you are interested. I hope that you go and grab it. If you do, I would also hope that you find it worthy, you would leave me a good review. That will help me get in the public eye! Soon afterward (2-3 days or so), it will be available in paperback.

Find the book(s) here: www.amazon.com/author/jeff.gaines

Or find the book(s), and all about me, here: www.JeffGaines.world

Soon after, I also hope to have my first novel (a supernatural thriller), called “Wanderer” available as well!

  Wish me luck!

                                Big, Biggest Love,

                                               Jeff Gaines
I'm proud of the whimsy in this. I think it's the Irish in my veins, trying to toss a limerick!

No

I’m busy
I love my dream
I’m kind to my shadow
I’m friendly with my hope
I communicate with loneliness
I find millions small reasons to smile

I'm use to with this world
I hear, I understand

Moreover,
I trust the god in me.

“Son, how much did you score?”
●10/10
Beside you, who else did score that?
     ●2 others
“You have to work much harder”, she told.

Let me know,
If possible, scores above 10/10.
I’d like to join too.
