Anytime I start looking up
Is usually when things start rolling down
luciana Jul 2020
1:21 am
thinking of who I am right now
tired of these day dreams
always caught up being alone
even at home.
everyone has these same seconds
I experience this too often
a maze of mirrors I get lost in
sitting still.
head so heavy.
maybe I need a pep talk or a pill
1:35 am
made no progress
it's hard controlling my head
life's importance grows less and less
this was months ago when every night was rough and I couldn't fathom where I was with my life or how I felt every day.

put down the pen,

gown thyself in coats
of many riotous colors,
banish ‘never’ and ‘hope’
from thy lexicon, and
begin with a smile
always a smile as you
walk the streets as if to say
open open says me,
open sesame and let the
good works begin,
for having found your
captain of the muses,
your Calliope,
your rosebud,
lucky you!
you will need not write

another word

A million words, a million thoughts,
We've all been here writing till the end of time.
What new ones may have been brought?
It's all I can think of, did something happen?
Am I still original or am I out of line?

"Soon-to-be-victorious" you start the  song,
A dirge of memories past, till the very last.
The rhythm sounds like 'other time folk music,'
Played to an *****-like effect,
I guess you would be able to out-do my
Eccentric best.

Keep playing that well worn traditional back-days song!
You know I was here to **** you down all  along...

the icy ink flowing from my pen was cold enough for concern
the words laying down on my manuscript was not, what was in my head
it appeared to be a warning of some kind
warnings of a mad soul
a soul, living in darkness, surrounded with the brightest of colors
colors, sitting in the background of happiness, just lingering
waiting for the right time to circulate again...

Find your colors...

Going down, but it's not bad.
Going down to the river
to clear my head.
Simple things like skipping rocks
Or catching fish in the stream
Remind me that
even in times like these,
Life could still be a dream
Zack Ripley Jun 2020
life is full of ups and downs.
But we've been down so long,
I can't help but wonder...
When the time comes,
Can we even remember HOW
To get up?
And when will that time come?
When someone has the courage
To scream one word.
ENOUGH!
Enough kneeling.
It's time to stand and start healing.
But it's all or no one. So...
Have you had enough?"

Where is Voltaire now that we need him?

The Age of Enlightenment, also know as the Age of Reason, was a full-blown burgeoning of reason in Europe in the 17th and 18th centurys.

By 2020, we have just begun what I call The Age Of Unenlightenment, or Worse, an immmoral retrograde not seen since the days of Corligula, a dystopian era ushered into our global society by a sodden  driver named **** Trump who crashes through his pretentious entrance of **** Trump Tower on 5th Avenue. Now that myrmydon Cohen has just been released from prison because of the pandemic threat, let him clean up the mess in the morning.

In the meantime, the November elections loom. Costa Rica or New Zeland? With the Russians contriving and the Repuplications suppressing, **** Trump could get illegallally re-elected. If that were to happen, I would not wish to spend another nanosecond in this corrupt, criminal country. New Zealand or Costa Rica?

The Worse, you ask? Take your pick. Catastrophic climate change or nuclear holocaust. At least the results of either will not be rigged.
