Far into the forest where the crippled creeks wept,
Where sweet springtime fades with promises unkept,
A rotted cabin sat under gnarled arms of trees, wheezing its final breaths in autumn's breeze.
I was too young to turn back in fear as the ache of curiosity pulled me near.
Traces of rust where hinges fell left doorways to gaping mouths of hell.
Shards of glass like shattered bones lay in the musk of time's ripe decay.
O, but in deafening silence it seemed I still could hear the floorboards scream.
Every step within those walls left me longing for an otherworldly call.
The ghosts of the woodlands forever roamed every crooked nook and crack of this home.
Entranced I stayed until the black of night seeped into the corners of my long abandoned keep.
And its spirits trailed my steps as I walked away, promising to return again someday.
I dreamed of a place I forgot long ago.

"Call me Mother" I told her, the first time I took her home.
She was quiet and I could tell she didn't want to be alone.
Then we approached the front door, where I led her inside.
She waited for a moment, then ran off to hide.
"Hide and seek, oh alright.
But after this, it's nighty-night."
I looked around the house for her,
Until I heard a little stir.
I found the child behind a curtain.
"I knew I'd find you. I was certain."
I grabbed her wrist and down the hall
We walked to her room, I stood tall.
She stayed silent, I think afraid.
But we got to her room: Tidy, bed made.
Others sat upon their beds.
"Go to sleep." they would nod their heads.
Then they slipped under the covers,
And all at once said "Goodnight Mother."
The girl still stood next to me, the youngest one.
I loosened my grip and to her bed she did run.
She slipped into the blanket, closing her eyes.
But I waited there. The others weren't surprised.
"You need to say it." I pulled off her covers.
She opened her eyes, the others shuddered.
"Come on now." I smiled, though it took her a while.
"Fine. Goodnight. But you're not my Mother."

the feeling of
uncertainty
creeping up
my spine
makes my
head twirl
in an attempt
to keep all
my thoughts
in place.

Can’t move
Three, two, one, go!
Open your eyes. No. No.
It’s not real. OPEN YOUR EYES NOW!
Eyes, not yours, watching; hands, not yours, reaching.
Who… what is that at the window?
A dream? But you’re awake,
paralysed, still
can’t move.

The night is young
The night is dark

Fun is lacking
At the amusement park

It's not even winter
but cold enough to shiver

Shiver from height
Shiver from fright

A drop too high
One leap to die

So I'm sending you an invite
8PM tonight

Don't fear, don't tear
Clutch your heart
And take part
Tonight at the amusement park
First published poem in here. I hope this is not too much enough to scare you guys off. lol

I hear the main road from a distance
A quiet, steady roar.
This part of town is full of people
Who walk the streets no more.

It’s quiet here, and would be peaceful
If I didn’t know why.
For every hour there’s one less person
But one more mournful cry.

It was the night she was murdered

The shadows clung tight to the walls

Whispering of evens that left them appalled

Behind the corner the little girl stalls

Knife in her hand makes her feel tall

Taller than mom who lies on the floor

Pools of her blood the carpet absorbs

Mom causing pain has long been ignored

The little girls terrors

Forever no more

No need for us to be
let go the tourniquet
let us bleed
a dark prayer
no candles flickering
deeper now
slow your dripping
coagulate your heart
release your bowls
and let us part

Now that wasn't so bad...
Your still breathing?!
are you mad!

Did you escape the pain?
defeat the sorrow?
We can always try again tomorrow.
