this is
how
i write the
poetry
for the world that
we
live on
to enjoy
the days are
long
and
beautiful like
her legs and the
sky is
endless
like the
passion we
hold
within
James Walker Sep 2019
Banking on the thoughts
of the next freeway
running below the wheels of
achievement

looking forward to
forever letting
go

The answer is out there
waiting,
whispering
singing songs of
welcome

it's only when
things are Lost
that we Find them

Darling if, for a second
you could
catch the Sunrise
up-on
my lips
you'd surely see the oceans that are my
Love
for your
kind
and gentle soul
here we depart as two
and unite
as one

I only intend to pierce the steel
of my shadows
to waddle in sin
and let go
of the frolicking discrepancies

Society and Flaw
Surely lie hand and hand
The pencil and the paper
Given to untrue man
The government corrupt, society can't see
A slave to politician, is all we'll ever be
Trained that right was right
When right was truly wrong
These thoughts instilled within us
To keep politic strong
A song was sang to lure us
Into the wicked sea
Of lies and deception, the truth can never be
Weak family, strong state
It's what's right, control their fate
Pointless electives in the college
Surely to keep us within *******
A scheme of money plain in sight
But still found hard to see
A slave to politician, is all we'll ever be
Freedom of speech is without reach
Cuz speak and you'll be found
Floating in a river, sure to be face down
Never thinking for self, always for the man
The man holds the paper, and so he's cuffed your hand
Bound to the flaws of which we cannot see
A slave to politician, is all we'll ever be

I am filled
with
the deepest
sensation of
gratitude because today
I saw an opening
in the cloudy
Sky
and
the sun looked upon
my wishing
skin warming every
fabric of
my being and I
realized I am
Alive
Life is a beautiful, precious thing

Inside at times she felt
so crazed and on the
pulpit remained
unfazed
in about the house
she lazed
with figure shining
bright as light
the men who witnessed
bore the sight
with the darkness she'd take them
through the night
chilling souls
and
leaving blight

always with a smile
never a worry or
care
she cared
nothing for these
jaded lovers
unless they were
under her covers
she played a ***** game
but,
when you look at the rest
it's all the same
heartbreak
and
love
are similar strains

It's been a while since I've
rattled with prose for
poetry is
prose with more
fashion,
style,
finesse

the heart ticks for all but
the veins
they are filled with
lust for different desires

we battle over taste,
over
bread crumbs

soon we will forget who
we once were
but...
first we must forget
who we are today
When we grow we often reflect and reminisce. It's a part of the process. A beautiful thing indeed. As we change we forget who we were. This happens nearly every day. Change occurs when we leave the person we are today, behind.

In the room of relief
where
dreams are caught
and
nested on the rim of
the seat
before flushing them
with the rest
of your appetite

Okay, not sure if it's been done before but let's be honest. It's time for poetry to envelop other topics.

Everyone
has been hurt
and so
the love they felt
as a child has been
lost like
most things and
how wonderful it would be
if tender spirits
could re-enter
the world

People
they smile more
these days and
they don't seem to notice
for the past was much filled with
bloodshed
and
misery
hunger and famine
with the darkest
and coldest
of winters

people once shivered naked
in the snow
and today we control
the
elements
of mother nature
in our home

bandits once littered the dusty roads and
vultures flew always nearby knowing the outcome of
the days events

sure, people still ponder on their next meal
but
there are more fatties than there used to be

I sit here reading poetry
and waiting, waiting
People are loving
right now
walking their dogs,
shopping
playing with their kids
and eating
while I sit here and wait
to die
but death *****
and if I could I would
not die but I wasn't given
a choice
James Walker Mar 2016
I know
I'm disgusted with
all of
humanity
and I'm telling you
it won't work
that Way.
You reach one goal
you set another it's
endless.
The only way out of The
loop
is to love the
right now
James Walker Mar 2016
the day shone
when you filled
your lungs
with the breath of
my love
so long ago but my thoughts
visit you
from time to time
and I see how I have
changed

The words on the paper flow endlessly
a cycle of dying and
living and
breathing and
choking
with pepper sprinkled in for
good measure

great is the depth of the
sea
that infinite battlefield where the
war never ends
the fishes themselves with not a moment of sleep
carry life as a trophy
we once called their land home
but
now it's a place where the world goes
to drown its sorrows

Life is in the air
and
so too everywhere
weather you choose
or not
to see it
life will surely be there
it's also in your hair
present at the fair
it's stuck in traffic on the interstate
and cleaning dinnerware

it's living solemnly
or
free without a care

I don't give a ****,
that's what the singers say
and somehow
it goes top 20 and
the wise ones
they laugh,
they snicker,
because the ones that don't care
make a song about it

we live today in a world
where being different gets you
shamed
but,
if we're all different
what's the difference?

sometimes it's better to let art be
Inspired by Big Sean and the others who saturate the entertainment biz Copyright 2016 JamesW

let it be known
be shown
what there is for eyes to see
we will grow
and die
and live
and be
with
and without
but the balance is everything and
the Present is all that
exists
James Walker Jul 2016
Long live
the ones who
die
tomorrow, for a new day is
on The Rise
And the wise
they tremble
And the bold
they tremble
And the meek
smile on and on
because they've got nothing
better to do
James Walker Apr 2016
We're all wrong
but
we think we're
Right
I guess thats better than being Left
behind
to fend for the self in this
dark
cold world
still,
the sky shines kinda bright
at night
doesn't it?

I sit in my room
and
notice my guitar
filling me with its radiance
a glimmer of light
shining brightly upon the
softly colored mahogany
it beckons,
calling me to strike ever-so-gently the
strings

to paint on the canvas of
silence
such is my calling

I reach for the instrument but
things are
different, this time
I find not the vibrant breath of music but
the self,
determined and
willing to lay-bare its heart to
the world
my eyes are opened
I am aware and
I breathe life into my lungs
for the first time

I'll tell you a
Secret
one day the
sky will fall
and we'll quicken
our lungs
as the aliens
take our
kids and
the kids they
smile as
they meet their
heavenly new
parents
From the world above and
as the memories
are replaced our
world will seem
Distant
Foreign
Lost and
they will
call the world of
these Angels
Hoam

Oops there's my
cobra
Guess we're about to
sing a song
Her voice
the lyrics
feeling great
with her I'm home
James Walker May 2016
Every now
and then
a
weathered soul
crawls up
from the crevice of the earth
slimy
and
old
ready for the others to see
with profound message
just jaded enough
for there to be light
in his words

Wind it blows
Smiling
Running through outstretched
Hands
Waving to a visitor
The young man
Listens
Sun beaming down
In the forest we call
Park

Hustle and bustle in the cafe
today just like
another day
Shuffling feet
Go every way
Just a good coffee, customer
prey
they Want
they have
nothing
They're bulbous forms and
greed
Here's a tip,
Quit
and go
...Home
Six years later I started writing poetry again. 2016, my current
James Walker Mar 2016
We look
how
we look and
we are
what
we are
but
eyes were never meant to be
avoided
open the window to
the soul and become
whole again
the wind
the stars
the sky
it's all
for
you
James Walker Mar 2016
let them
find you God knows
they will
let them do as
they please
as you watch from the
sidelines
thinking On humanity's
frivolous
Sisyphean superfluic activities
beliefs are dare-eye-say
worthless yet we
hold on
ever so dearly to
the things that
**** us
a
fact or
two could save
us all but
we'd rather
spank
our
differences
