Merry Christmas Eve,
From the fog among the trees.
Lazy haze draped dazedly
Is our California freeze.

Cotton candy swirl of sky
In deep waters meets
A force of power enough to destroy
The strong among the weak.
“Pacific” they do call she-
Beauty and peace men’s hearts adore.
These men, the same whose head and feet
Be led asunder by her roar.

Love (down)

I love you
And you will never hear me say
That I don't
I know
We are meant to be
I can't believe that you think
You're not beautiful
I'm sorry but
You are mine
You can never say that
I'm lying

I know not if those eyes are green or blue;
I only know they hold pastures and oceans.
Warm, lush pastures that draw me by their comfort,
In which I sit and speak and soak and rest.
Tossing, swelling oceans where my power
Is forsaken in the never-ceasing waves of beauty.

You claim they boast a tint of gray, but I must disagree
The gray appeared when those eyes began reflecting me.

The days are long and dark.
Nights blur into one.
I need you more than ever.
Please just come.

Dusk and dawn alike.
Skylines as grey as a dreamless sleep.
I need you more than you know.
Please just come.

The world is falling.
Fading beneath my feet.
I need you so much right now.
Please just come.

My tired eyes can barely open.
I am lost more than you could imagine.
I need you.
Please.

I'm sitting here,
     Lost among the
Static shadows of
     A slumbering morning,

And while the world
     Blinks awake
I'm left wondering
     When my head
Will finally succumb
                              To sleep.

The Calm
With all your wisdom you guide me
Strong as oak, you stand beside me
Roots deep in the ancestral plain
Battle tested bark sworn to take the pain
You great oak, you my mother
You've withstood the test of time
To make sure that I could have mine

you
when asked your favorite color how do you respond?
"blue! like the ocean"
"yellow! like the sun"
"silver! like the stars"
pink, like the color of your lips and the blush that creeps across your cheeks.
green, like the specks that dot your eyes
red, for the night we kissed in your car, hands intertwined and fingers at our throats.
gray, your favorite shirt.
black, the ink that stretches across your skin, Ive traced these tracks a million times and still get lost
those are the colors I wanted to say.
"I don't know, purple?"
