DaSH the Hopeful
The way morning sunlight creeps through the blinds,
Light streaming in, crisp and warm and new

The way air makes its way to our lungs and we feel the energy
The rush of fresh oxygen

    The way snow falls,
Small, clumsy flakes at first
And grows into an all encompassing blizzard

THAT is how to fall in love

One night soon
someone
will strike a match
on a stone
and read my name.

I tried, it's true and what we once had was tried-and-true
and I'd be lying if I said you haven't tried it too.

Purple Rain
Holding back my tears
Seeing my world go by,
Trying not to cry on the edges of hell
No more sweet lullabies
Sounds of trains passing in my head,
could this be Freedom?
Or schizophrenia instead...
Laying in my bed
wishing I was dead
contemplating between pills and trigger
Who have I become?
I hold shame before myself in the mirror
I admit I never actually faced my fear
I wonder if it is time to shed a tear...
Just one or two
Perhaps then the mind of me won't be so blue
This is a poem I wrote about my daily life with mental illness
Sometimes,
all that one needs is a friendly face
that they haven't seen in a while
to remind them of
how much there is
to value in life.
On a shore where the waves embrace the sand
Lies the hug land.
“No words, please, we only hug and kiss”
is all you will find,
speaking there is only with mind!
They were not late
To know words only complicate,
Make a mess
Of what the heart says.
Rotten clichéd stale
They more often fail
To make the desired sense,
More potent is silence.
Lover, sister, brother
Each hugs the other
In this faraway retreat,
They hug anyone they meet.

I.

Water glimmers across your untainted lips

Dripping, drips, dropped

While I wait patiently to kiss them,

The sun is setting over the horizon.

You watch as the sky's hue changes in color

Changing, changes, changed

And I watch you.

            II.

Close enough to touch your face,

But I yearn to feel your heart.

You turn and look me in the eye

            Searching, searches, searched

See me through my soul.

I am home

            With you my love

Just Melz
Two spiteful lovers in a raging battle
Fighting against the tides of war
Lost within themselves and images
Of the serenity from the ways of before
Not knowing how to come down from the high
Never needing much, just a little bit more
In love with the idea of opposites attract
Until it leaves them both lying on the floor

The universe inside a teardrop
An expanding sorrow full with the stories it contains
Cataclysms and black holes
Creation and Armageddon
Stars and moons
There is life, and light
Darkness and death
Hopes and dreams
Reality
Loss
Pain
Insanity

There is a universe inside a teardrop
And you are the great creator
