Adventure
Anna Sandberg Nov 2014
Along an unknown path
Distant from the place you call home
Voices summon you in the distance
Edging you to claim your destiny
New legends unfold and lessons learned while
Traveling to new lands
Under the strings of fate
Reach out to that light within and
E**scape through your dreams to release your inner self

Twins of Darkness
Anna Sandberg Nov 2014
An evil queen ruled so unfair
Turning peasants away.
Orders smoothly “bow down to me”
She sneeringly would say.

I am her servant but a
Loving childhood friend.
Misguided by our parents
She followed their harsh trend.

A prince from another country
Caught the queens glowing gaze
But he turned his head away
for another girl of praise

I fell in love with a peasant
Skin as fair as pure snow
When my queen asked of her dispose
I could not tell her “no”.

Her people acted against her
Rule by forcing down her door
Unknowing of her strings of fate
Her servant gave a roar.

I offered to take her place as queen
Since we’re born as twins
before she could protest once word
I put on her royal pins.

The queen watched her brother, with shock,
Leave the safe castle gates
She put on a peasants old cloak
Worrying of both fates

I am now the evil queen and she
Is now the queens small maid
I stand up on this pedestal
Upon the peoples raid.

The maids gaze stopped on the queen
With tears in her green eyes
As the blade dropped down upon him
Bloodying the blue skies.

The Elements
Anna Sandberg Nov 2014
Air
Wind blowing wildly around,
Not even muttering a sound.
It pushes life towards their fate,
Giving their birth through heaven’s gate.

Fire
Flame burning brightly like the heat in life’s hearts,
The adrenaline pumping through your veins for that kick start.
Sometimes leading to unforgivable sin,
As life’s consciousness tries not to give in.

Earth
Quiet and subtle as deep as the planet's soil,
All must keep a good grasp on toil.
The element lives through the night and day,
Each of its beings not led astray

Water
The spring rain pouring down to make a being clean,
Washing away all sins to feel serene.
Cleanse the wrong and embrace the right,
To allow your consciousness to feel un-tight.

Spirit*
A representation of all life on earth,
Each new experience lead to celestial rebirth.
All four elements equal to this never ending dream,
Each stand of life will continue downstream.

Existence
Anna Sandberg Nov 2014
What impact will you make in this world?
What story will you leave behind to show you were here?
Some live their whole life but die unnoticed
Without being loved.

The ‘Mighty One’ gives us powers to change the world.
Yet they are unknowingly set aside
Unused and overlooked.
Don’t allow routine to swallow your life.

Write your story

Escape the permanence of destiny
But only you can make that difference
To show others of your existence and power.

A Never Ending Dream
Anna Sandberg Nov 2014
A never ending dream filled with bliss and hope.
My memories are scattered within.
There is a boy.
He is crying for me.
But I cannot reach him as the world spins around me.
The springtime air blows past
I feel the cherry blossoms hit my face gently.

There is a girl now in the dead of night.
She calls to me bearing her weapon of life.
Protecting the ones she loves.
A burden to bear
I cannot reach her as the darkness engulfs me.
The full moon shines down
I feel the chilled night air rush past me.

The scene changes to a green hill.
A younger girl is silent letting the wind rush before her.
She is unable to speak as she stares off into the distance.
A silent angel.
But I cannot reach her as the summer sun beats down upon me.
Not a cloud in the sky.
As the ground swallows me whole.

The crisp winter wind covers my body.
A girl is sitting by a frozen fountain
Looking at the ice as though it could be herself.
A sickly girl.
But I cannot reach her as the wind starts to pick up.
The snowflakes cover my vision
I fly towards the night sky.

I am in a room and there lies a boy.
He won’t wake and most likely never will
This time I am able to be by his side.
A dreaming light.
Miracles can happen and are possible.
As he fights within his mind
In his never ending dream.

Empty Heart
Anna Sandberg Nov 2014
A girl shrouded in darkness without a single friend
Will be shown no mercy, not even until the end.
So fragile she could float up to the sky
Watching her “would be friends” carelessly pass by.

This is her fate she so unwillingly took on
To spread her wings like a majestic swan.
Both her wings, when opened, are beautiful and sheer
While her crystal blue eyes can’t shed a single tear

Only one can help another during such a time
Since this world resembles a terrible steep climb.
If not the mist will sweep her dreams away
If her sickness continues to delay.

Soft and sweet her laughter brings
But is fatefully controlled by strands of thinly cut strings.
Save her in this time of need
You won’t be doing just her a good deed.

Heaven's Gate
Anna Sandberg Nov 2014
The day was considered a miracle
When the machine opened her crystal eyes.
Her gaze upon my own, so spiritual
Blankly staring into the blue clear skies.

Emotionless with no visible heart
“How can something so pure be created?”
My tireless work with nowhere to start
Teach you ways to make you elated.

I unwillingly had left you all alone
The worlds of life and death separate us.
I watched your smile become no longer stone
And death greeted you gladly with no fuss.

Alas the heart was too great to hold
Made the machine whir one last time before becoming cold.
