I dream of a dream that dreams of me
Though this dream is not what it seems.
I've been here before, but something is different.

The sky is an awkward shade of miserable.
The land scorched by fire and hate,
Raining pain and fear from the clouds.
The forest has a treacherous aroma to it.

A girl sits on a mushroom, just out of arms reach from me.
I cannot recall if she has been here the entire time.
I ponder for a moment, just a second
To see if this is a memory.
A memory I have found
Or a memory that has found me.
She turns around swiftly, and I see her eyes
Those emerald eyes peering through hair of nightmare.

She tells me the Queen lost her head.
She tells me the Hatter is no longer mad.
She tells me the Cheshire lost his grin.
She tells me the Door Mouse lost his pocket watch.
She tells me the White Rabbit has a new color.
Oh Alice, what has this memory done to you?

Her dress is stained with blood.
Her hand wields a knife dripping in triumph.
Her demented, derelict smile is twisted and eerie,
Yet her eyes, her eyes are so alluring.

Fear has escaped me.
Hope has abandoned me.
The shackles of truth remain.
The reflection of myself in the red stained waters is not of mine.
It is of who I've hidden away.
She holds her hand out, and my decision made for me.
She brings me in close, brings her blood lust lips to my humble ear
And her whisper strikes me to my bones.
“This is not the Wonderland that used to await beneath the rabbit hole”

Alice, through the looking glass
I saw her fair, I saw her fast
Her smile like the distant past –
A mem’ry safe and sure to last…
---
But suddenly her smile turned
Her stomach ached, and quaked, and churned
And sweat rolled off her brows that burned
When, in that moment, this she learned:

That deep within that pretty face,
A haunting, hideous, out of place –
Dark and dreadful, dreary trace
Of ash and gnashing was innate

Innate in her! She saw it so!
A pushing – pulling – undertow!
Inclining toward the hollow glow
Of outer show, the inner woe
---
Alice, through the looking glass
I saw her fair, I saw her fast
Her smile like the distant past –
A mem’ry fading when she passed…
---
When she did pass from death to life
Beholding pure and perfect Light
Without a sight, but in the night
When sun arose, and shone so bright

So bright that every Darkness did
Fly and flee – it scattered, hid
From deep within her heart that bid
Her to remain in shadowed sin

Yes, He – the Good, the Faithful, True!
Made her new – through and through!
And Alice, she’s the hopeful view
In the looking glass: me and you.
---
Alice, through the looking glass
I saw her fair, I saw her fast
Her smile like the distant past –
A mem’ry safe and sure to last…

With a smile on your mouth
I see the evening breathing out
Calling my long lost name

And while I don't you recall
I hear you whisper, while I fall
Pouring memories down the drain

I tried to make you understand
You need to leave wonderland
The lion still kills without claws

But you crashed with the reality
Leaving strangers with serenity
Drowning in the final applause

Did I fall down the rabbit hole?
Am I lost within this land?
Because everyone around me
Is completely and utterly mad

Am I wondering through the forest
Talking to the Cheshire cat
Tell me the right way to go
But he's preoccupied by a rat

Did I stumble upon the mad hatter
With his sanity wearing thin
Its a very happy unbirthday
he wearig this painful grin

Did I run into the Queen of hearts
Interrupting a croquet game
Off with their heads
She's giving me the blame

Did I run into tweedle dum and dee
Singing me their stories
how do ya do shakehands
Listening to them fills me worries

Did I finally meet another the same
The dearly beloved Alice
Who in the world am I
But its clear she's merely followed the rabbit

A white rabbit leading the way
Do i follow him, will he lead me astray
I'm late! I'm Late! for a very important date
The way he's going I'll never escape

So why am I trapped here
In such a world of madness
The more I think about it
I'm just trapped in my own sadness

So how do I escape from myself
From a world of pure imagination
How do I run from this
Run, From my own creations

There is no possible exit
From a world I don't understand
So I'll sit here and wait
Until I figure out a plan
Idk what I where I was going with this one

Touch my heart
Grab my hand
Take me to your wonderland
I won’t know you
You won’t know me
We’ll dance around a reverie

We’ll dance and sing
For all to hear
And we’ll no longer live in fear
Of losing love
Or losing lust
Or losing everlasting trust

Twinkling lights
Will streak our skies
And gently spark enchanting eyes
The trees will wave
And clouds will smile
We'll leave this world, just for a while

there are nights where i stay up daydreaming of a wonderland

a wonderland of vignetted sepia books and tea stained lips,
a wonderland where the sun hides for a while, and lets us be real
a wonderland where no one else exists
so that my arms persist on staying around you

a wonderland where my hands lay in yours
while we read sappy poetry
poetry no one else we know would find interesting
but poetry that means the world to us;

a wonderland where rain falls in my backyard on orange trees
to the setting of our eyes like big blue seas
never parting
leaves rustling

a wonderland where music plays and sways so sway with me
to a light thunder storm
and kiss me slowly
so we can keep each others lips warm

because its cold in our winter wonderland
but a little cold never stopped anyone
a little cold in life slows us down, but we put on our jumpers and forge on

so forge on
my dear winter girl,
because i know that sometimes
a house isn't really a home
and it gets hard when I'm alone
so come whenever you feel like you cant stand
and lay with me, in our own winter wonderland.

Mr White Rabbit
Take me down
To where the grass is greener
And the Queens are meaner
I'll follow you anywhere
Down that Rabbit Hole

Cerulean skirts and white lace petticoats
I pout and I cry
I sulk and I lie
Eat me, drink me
I don't know what to think
But I do think
That I pout and sulk and cry and lie
Too much

Pour me a drink
Tea in a teacup
Quibbles wrought in mercury
Perhaps not retrograde
But perhaps a renegade

I believe in fairy tales
I believe in tall tales
I believe in animal entrails
I believe, I believe, I believe
In magic and in mythology

Wonderland, oh, Wonderland
Take me to Wonderland
Let me wander through
The Land of Wonderland
Come with me
Come down the Rabbit Hole

into the smoke-filled haze we fell.

down and down; faster and faster. the darkness encapsulated us and for a split second, i thought i had lost him forever. visions of a life lost and confused flashed before my eyes and my fear multiplied tenfold.

then, a hand reached out and grabbed my forearm. as that was happening, we were nearing the ground. excitement and relief rushed over me at the realization that i wasn't alone in all of this. the stars collided, galaxies burst and we were the blackest hole in the universe.

we were almost infinite.

and then we crashed
