I used to be shy, unreasonably shy
So timid that even conversing felt like I’d die
But then I met some people
That would change my life, forever form a ripple

Yes, a ripple in the lake that is my life.
Inside jokes, heart-to-hearts, unwanted strifes
All in my memory, making myself
Always stay true to my self.

From my first friends that are still with me
To the ones that let me be free
My troubadours, always prove their niceness
Healing me of my unreasonable stressfulness

And so, as I always do,
This is how I say thank you
To the ones that always have my back
No matter if my thoughts are sometimes dark.

And I want you all to remember
Poems like these…
They last forever.
Please…

Never leave my side.
A poem I wrote for my friends, who are always there for me... in one way or another.

Thanksgiving day.
One we truly can not forget.
With the thin air of winter coming through,
The mist cold and wet.
The candles burn bright,
As we dig into this neat feast.
Our faces stuffed up,
Until we can not eat.
We are thankful for everything that would take too long,
Just to say.
Oh we are thankful for it all,
On Thanksgiving day.
Quick write poem I did in creative writing class about Thanksgiving (5 minute write). Let me know if you have any helpful poetry suggestions. I would love to hear some!

I said a prayer,
I bowed my head
It was for my sister
As tears from my eyes bled.

It wasn't just any prayer
It was powerful
It went to God the Father
Just like it should

God saved here
I am so glad
Now I'll make more effort
On not being bad

God kept her
She'd stay with me
And everyone else
In the family

I'm thanking God
Each and every day
My sister is still here
Just because I prayed
I wrote this when I was a lot younger. It shows doesn't it? Like in verse 3.

In my childhood years
you planted curious seeds,
fountains of wonder and devotion
that continue to spring and splay,
grow and evolve
into blossoms of hope today.

If I had to express my gratitude
I'd have to paint all your talents
on the canvas of life,
for the older I get the more I comprehend
your fortitude, your support,
 ongoing humble presence,
distant yet close,
and your light shines inside me,
unrelenting,
like an eternal blessing
that will live on in my daughter's heart forever.
My mother is an intelligent talented woman, and her love is and will always be a blessing to me. My father's love is also a blessing.

Oh God you are the greatest, nothing may compare to you,
Giving, oh merciful Lord, carry happiness through

Oh the one who gives and takes, give us all that is great,
And in our times of difficulty and need, send us aid
Oh please don't let our vision fade...
We are on our way onto your straight path, righteousness is paid

You are the radiance of the heavens and the earth
So please don't let us become corrupt, from our beginning..the birth

Oh Lord, you are the only one I serve,
I turn to you with a heart, filled with love
Everytime I recieve a blessing I turn to the clouds above

Grant us a fear of you that will be a barrier between us and sin
Please don't make our destiny the hellfire.
Ruined, is what we would have been

Free us from the fire of greed
Its what makes our heart bleed,
Kindness and patience is what we need!

Oh you are forgiving...so forgive us

i come here when i can
to write
to read
to
find beauty
to find what i need.

there is so much inspiration
       my heart it does fill
by the flow of all thoughts
it’s pure magic of the quill.

each writer
has a gift, so unique
and all their own
every day
I’m amazed
at the beauty shown.

i’m also very thankful
for you give far more than you know
knowledge, strength, and courage,
are only a few gifts that you bestow.

…and when someone hurtful
                                         comes along
you stand tall side by side
drying painful tears
      that one’s eyes have cried.

that’s beauty of heart
                      that’s beauty of soul
a beautiful pressure of love
       turning a diamond from coal.

The biggest mistake you can ever make is to walk away from the person who stood and waited for you.
To the people in my life who both walked away and to those who stayed-for many years.

Thank you ~
for a life not to trade
blessings, in spades
tight spaces
behind laundry doors
packed closets
and open drawers
gator tails, tarnished brass
cracks in kitchen sliding glass
wet towels, withering plants
foundation filled
with carpenter ants
buckets piled with
shoes and tags
village clothes
and saddlebags
peeling paint
and broken walls
****** seats
in bathroom stalls
clogged pantry
frigid rooms
table scribe
and carbon fumes
comfort capsules
empty tanks
broken limbs
from children’s pranks
**** finger
double tongue
long goodbyes
and sidewalk dung
cluster flies
chavie’ clique
accompanying
the hypocrite
cracked back
and hidden smiles
chalk on board
with mr miles
atomic wedgies
closing doors
wrotten eggs
and open sores
jaw jack
nasty folk
dinner calls
for pig in poke
penny pinchers
double dip
yellow mouth
and silver tip
brown nosers
thick red tape
paper cuts
and pimple nape
gallivants
so out of norm
the joy of life
in basic form

Oh give thanks
unto the Lord
for He is good
and His mercies,
Oh yes
His mercies,
they never fail us
never.
His mercies
they
endure
forever
and ever
and
ever more.

So much we take for granted.
So seldom, and maybe only as a last resort,
do we get what we really deserve.
Lunar Dec 2016
Have you ever thought why people say, "I am one with the sky," or "Flowers are the best gifts for occasions"? I have a theory. A theory on simplicity, on matter and on souls. I think our souls are made up of matter which is simple and undefined. To put it simply, our souls are made up of many things. Many simple things.

Maybe that's why we feel comfortable, we love the most, and we accept things as they are, even the most plain ones. The simplest things, which stir the deepest and heaviest parts of our souls, matter the most. Our souls are consciously and unconsciously attracted to those things which widen and deepen our existence and the search of its meaning.

Whether it's holding the hand of the one we love or staring into their eyes; gazing at the celestial moving bodies above; watching a sprout grow out below; betiing which raindrop would win the race down a window pane; smelling the earth's freshness and the sea's salty breath; catching a whiff of freshly brewed coffee or tea; finding out the hidden meaning behind every flower specie; a friend's embrace or a stranger's courtesy. Even the most mechanical yet natural thing-- sleep-- we appreciate it all.

It's these things which awaken us to love and feel grateful, all the more. We know these little things belong to the simple matter that makes up our souls, and vice versa-- we belong to them; we are home with them. And it's by these little things which prove that the simplest can make a soul feel the greatest.
I appreciate everything in my life. The good, teaches me to be grateful much more. The bad teaches me a lesson. The simple, teaches me that life is worth living with every minute detail. The complicated, teaches me that everything is worth living--with patience. Everything, every matter, to me, matters. And I hope it does too, to all of you.
