Here I will wait for the Lord by the shores of Babylon,
where the waves brush my feet
and the winds touch my face.
No longer will I be saddened by my departure,
for You are here with me.
From my sufferings I will feel joy,
And only psalms of praise shall
take flight from these lips.
Emily Fitch May 2015
getting closer to the beach
we sit on the shore at midnight
where the water can't reach

we look up at the stars
twinkling along the moonlight
forgetting our scars

as more appear
we open beautiful
sweet-sounds to our ears

watching the waves
run up onto the shores
oh the look we gave

but then they called us away
and we went even though
i wanted to stay

but it didn't end there
because you called me
and we talked
all night

Sugar sand beaches reach the horizon
Water so far it is naught but a glimmer in the distance
Sitting in the warmth of that powder-like earth
The sun seems to set over a desert
Purple and pink in smoking swirls of Heaven
Sopping up the beauty in open pores
Ready to receive all that is offered
Watching the sun begin to slumber
As Luna's light begins to shine in bulbous splendor
The glimmer seems to twinkle as brightly as the stars as they awaken
Multiplying by the moment
Mesmerizing, as the lights seem to grow
The air changes, a little cooler now
The sand turns to black glass glistening in the moonlight
Slowly taking over the horizon
Watching the twinkling onyx reflect the night sky
Almost hypnotized by the melodic whisper
The only evidence of life within the breezeless air
As black meets gray, the warmth of the water glides further
Swallowing the shore inch by inch
Blanketing all as it comes upon its farthest outstretched reach
Bathing in the warmth of black water,
Stippled with the most brilliant twinkling reflections
Wrapped in the heat of the night
Consumed by the darkness, by the stars, by the very heat of the earth
Slowly, deliberately, the water rises
Basking in the beauty of a sea that came to greet all who care to notice
As the ripples and waves wash over the footprints
Erasing the day and birthing it anew
The moon smiles its bright smile
The sand swims by unseen
And the stars shine like the brightest diamonds
in the light of the moon

Come on my love, and let's play
Pretend we're running away
Chase me if you can
Let us have some fun

Don't release me when I'm caught
We long and love this both
Swing my body to the air
After all, for us this is only fair

Shout the words that mean so much
Your face and hair, I always touch
Kiss me more with those sweet lips
As you put your hands on my hips

On the shore, we always do
Things in life we won't let go
Love you now and forevermore
Love won't end on this lovely shore.
Our favorite place...
Anna Mosca Mar 2015

some times I miss
being the shore

constantly smoothed
by the froth caressed

by the whispering
waves to find myself

in the soft morning light
cleaned up reordered

from all the creases
of worrisome days

The world is a dangerous place to live in
Full of monsters and misbehaving
There's a boat on the shore so we better take it
Because summer's coming soon and the sun is fading

Yet something is wrong with the way I smile
It stays pristine but after awhile
My crooked frown explains my poor crown
Because you have to say "I'm in love,"
When I know there's doubt

Here's our last chance are we going to take it?
Sail off this land with our hearts cold, closed in
Not letting anyone in is this the way you want this?
I'm sorry I don't think I can make this journey
If you don't love me, dear God, just say it

Like a wave across a rocky shore,
I stretch over land and always want more.
You are the earth I can't reach,
impossibly far for a gentle wave like me.

But ill never stop pushing forward,
as you can very well see.
Ill crash and crash and crash and crash
until you notice me,
and when you do
I swear ill be the most beautiful thing you've seen.

If only I could make you want me too.

The gravity of my feelings aren't enough
to push me through to you.
There isn't anything I wouldn't do
to crash right next to you.
Even if I did I know
it'd be short lived.
Eventually everything will return to the sea,
including me.
Where I will crash upon your rocky shore
forever more..

The orangey sun would soon die,
Dipping in the warm open oceans
Black unfeathered birds would fly,
Accompanied with teeth of draconians

The blue sky would be painted black,
And rounded moon would be lighted up
Little suns would start to spark,
With the cricket sounds, abrupt

After 12 rounds of the shorter hand,
The ball of fire will start blazing back
And by the shore, I would stand
Still, wide smiles and plenty laughs I lack
