L'Amour Noir Sep 2014
We reach our limits so fast
Crawl under your arms, it's the last
We can't go back again, to hide
How our souls, the beauty, they divide

You were so fragile and pale,
the sweet porcelain doll of my pain.
Killing all the stars one by one
Until the night-sky cried forever gone

As the leaf turns death-blue
You say I wish I didn't miss you
So come home until it's fall
Carve your name into my naked wall.

(For the casualties of Manchester Kennels, 12/9/14, 21:05)

Old trusty Bob, sure-footed in the lead,
Truffles and Sandy bringing up the rear;
And all the others, with no faith or creed,
Yet representing all that's loved and dear.

They run along the path to Paradise
To where no faithful hound need ever die;
A playful eagerness lights up their eyes,
As clouds and gliding seraphim go by.

Garlands of stars and quasars light the way
The scent of incense lifts their spirits high
Nobody shouts commands to sit or stay;
Freedom is calling from beyond the sky.

Saint Peter tells each one "Rest easy, friend;
Your earthy suffering is at an end."
(Please look up the twitter tag #ManchesterDogsHome to find out how to donate for the rebuilding of the kennels)

"Oh the humanity"
The words of tragedy,
Repeated throughout,
American history.

"Oh the humanity"
The terror among us,
The flames that rise,
A burning mess.

"Oh the humanity"
When humanity is,
The biggest problem,
and the deepest pain.

"Oh the humanity"
Don't you know,
That we the people,
Will rise again.
9-11 here already. 13 years. The children born in 2001 are teenagers, who may not even understand just how terrifying it was for families, and how devastating it was for the loved ones. I used the line "Oh the humanity" which was in a newscast when the Hindenburg exploded, because it seemed fitting. This is humanity, and I wish we could stop it.

haven't written much because
i forgot how to feel.
i shut off my emotions
when i got sick of hurting.
but now i don't know
how to turn them back on.
do i even want to feel?
i still think about you.
you you you you you.

This Christmas is cold.
Even as the moon is scalding
To the heat of the stars
In the humid air
Of the hidden sun.
My heart reaches out to closest flames
But they are in full-fledged fuel
For their own
Feisty foolish fellowships
Furiously festive in the ignorant bliss
Such is the permafrost
Of no welcoming arms

And so, I host Revenge
Who welcomed Bitterness
In my thoughts
While suffering from the sinister snowstorm
I alone perhaps have made this night cold
Cold enough
To trick me to sleep
In tears, only my dreams are warm enough
To thaw but a single thumb

Frozen and Alone
I fade. Evaporating into the clouds
I am part of what will be
Rain, wadding the earth
In a pool
I will remind them of loneliness
I
Will be the cold

Next Christmas is cold
the Ber months have started and soon...so will December....Christmas time is upon us...so here is a little poem I wrote last year. Enjoy! :D

Early September air has me feeling motion sick again.
It's been two years and I count them in breaths.
Count them like the crucifixion.
After Death.

Summer came , summer goes
The heat shrouding still
I abhor the upcoming cold
Which deprives my
Joy,vigorousness and skimpy shorts

I'll have to wait for another year to
Cautiously bathe myself in the sunlight
While you skip dipping in Adriatic sea

Oh, the Sun in Zagreb,
You
Greeting summer into your doorsteps
Stealing golden ray to embellish the handcrafted box you made

Autumn comes and it will go
Fear not for the winter but for my brewing hope.

a september bride her hollow sounds
fearfully echo on the leaf strewn trail
with intonations of a blushing bride to be
she makes a graceful vision
obscured only by her hamfisted collection
of undesirable father figures
who stand round the groom and brow beat
him with dire dreams
but his eyes are for her alone and
the tigers of her sensual rainforest
"lions, tigers and bears...oh my!" she whispers
into his eager ear with a sardonic grin

her hollow sounds both haunting and beautiful
they will stay with me as a soulsong
long after history has devoured her
namesake and words
a quick poet of the three line shoot from the hip haiku
pink glossy eyes all damp with remembered tears
she is the quintessential september bride
the long summer nights swayed her
the longer cold winter may undo her
but it is a girlhood dream that
she knits with papier-mâché knights and
bubblegum queens
she waits for me there
to officiate the proceedings
with a bottle of red wine and single red rose
wrapped in the tender notions of
loves sweetest kiss
