give me breath when i can't breathe
give me words when i can't speak
hold my hands while they shake
and hold my heart while it breaks
Cynthia Danso Jul 2015
The Lord hand picks the unworthy
The outcasts, the needy
The downtroden and filthy
Drowning in despair
Shaking in fear
Staggering in sheer agony
Wondering what just might be
What life really means

His hand is upon the lost
Those still imprisoned by their past
The backslidden and fallen
living in sin and lust
Brewing with contempt and disgust
Crumbling into dust
Wondering if the Lord is just
if they can ever come back

The face of the Lord shines upon
Those who weep and bitterly mourn
The Broken hearted and torn
Who stay up until dawn
Singing the burial song
A chorus of whaling voices
A choir of morbid faces
Wondering what the next phase is

The Lord is gracious
The Lord is kind
The Lord will save us
The lost sheep he will find
His people are declared righteous
Adopted, sealed and sighed
Wonderfully and fearfully designed
Chosen, before the beginning of time
We all chosen

The fly on my finger says, “it’s gonna rain.”
So the spy ‘round the bend screams, “RUN!”

I try, but I step on a nail; therefore – I cease, I die,
And am born once more, Come the dead been before.

That’s when those days became a “pitter-patter,”
So let it sink, and I’m not so innocent anymore.

I’d blame the cat that crossed my path, it wasn’t black,
I’d blame the hat that drew her eye, but I wouldn’t;

I’d only run, flee, I’d heed the call of “Lawrence,”
So that bells could ring and wings be granted.
I'm innocent once more?

You play and drenched in dirts
And you know how it hurts
It is enemy's art
But HIS grace fixed your heart

You taste a new life
No more grief
Free from strife
Vindicated to be HIS wife

The enemy still lingers
Chasing you away from your SAVIOR
Still wanting you to put in danger
Don't get wrapped by his finger!

At your heart he still knocks
Say goodbye and turn back
Don't give him kisses
Cling to LORD's promises

When you stumble and fall
lose the brawl
and needs to crawl
Just look at the mirror
and you will see a savior

When you cry in pain
because they're all feign
and vain
Just look at the mirror
and you will see a savior

When you are alone at night
because they fight
and you wanted to plight
Just look at the mirror
and you will see a savior

Learn to be brave
and go with the wave
because in the end
they'll all gonna leave
so pick up your own ****
An old poem of mine. Yeah, I have learnt to save myself.

I hear your
Silent screams,
Your
Internal cries.
They rip me to shreads
And I don't know why.
I've been here for months
Trying to help
But you reject my attempts
And continue to yelp.
Why won't you let me save you from yourself?

Your beheaded savior lies at your feet. Blood of the innocent fill the street. decaying bodies mangled meat, this is what must be done, to fulfill the feat. Take a seat and watch the cleansing balance. The bringer of truth, the bringer of light. Now you Have it. Some atrocities are done for the greater right.the world in your hands, trampled under feet.

I don't know how to save you.
I don't know where to start.
All I know is I can't even save myself,
can't chase away my own demons.

You want me to be your savior.
I wanted to be yours too.
But as I tried to put together your pieces,
my heart shattered even more.

As I made you whole,
you made me empty.
So I don't know how to save you.
Don't know where to start.
I gotta save myself first.
Piece by puzzle piece
I'm the more broken one now.

But as I turned to you
for you to be my savior,
you took one glance at my scrambled heart
and turned away,
one hand already reaching for another's soul
for her to heal your heart,
just as I've always done.

he walks among the clouds
soft pinks and off whites surround
his glowing form
he is an angel sent from above
his eyes give hope
and his arms, a safe haven.
He is the sun, the moon and the stars.
A being from another world.
a beautiful savior of many,
he gives second chances
and new found life for many.
An angel is he
and my love he has.

Lately the sun’s warmed the sea, the fish hide deep
still as we sail you say to me these nets just washed let down,
I obey, for my brother names you Messiah, found,
and I wonder what you are that catches crowds—
suddenly I haul away at weight that weighs the boat
to sinking, I spent weeks worth working for half a load
as large as this, impossible cargo your power calls
and I cry leave me at your feet among the fish, face low,
for the blood of days is on my hands,
and in me there is too much man
but you stay with words I don’t understand:
*You have a new name, Peter, don’t be afraid
we’ll catch men in the waters of this world.
Part One in my Lenten journey with Peter
