Price ... to have a daughter

..Tail sat today my shadow from me
I am with you since
Never seen you smiling
Tell me what is the secret today
I raised my bowed eyes and said,
Hey, i want to smile too
Wanna blossom like flowers
Want to fly in open air
To color in your colorless life
Armaan is mine too few
I don't know how many dreams
I can see with open eyes
When those little ones get out of the bag
Seeing them, my steps also move forward
Take hold of these small hands with pen today
May I write a new story today as well
But I stop myself then
Just shake myself hard
Remember again the pen is not in the hand
And i want to live with it
I forgot to smile at birth
I paid the same price for having a daughter
I have paid the same price to have a daughter,
Hi friends..I want to dedicate my new poem to all the daughters ...

A salute to the martyrs

Today many of her brave sons
got separated from Mother India
Salutations to such heroes
Who sacrificed their lives
Do not let your head bow down
They chopped off their heads
Mother India left unhappy
He embraced death itself.
Never stop never bow
They walk the stool
Regardless of my own life
Protect the country
Born in the soil
Pay off that debt
Mother India left unhappy
He embraced death itself.
Leaving the family
Guard the border
For the defense of the country
Away from loved ones
The mother who grew up in the lap
Left that mother crying
Mother India left unhappy
He embraced death itself.
Blessed are those brave men
Which disappear on the country
Step forward after the enemy
They drink rip blood
Do not forget their sacrifice
They were printed
Mother India left unhappy
He embraced death itself.

I know a boy;
Drowned in the sea of darkness,
Long ago breathed his last happiness
As his burdens drag him deeper
And shuts his eyes from the light.

I know this boy;
Who woke up in the dark sea:
Ears deafened by the waves of water,
Thought he won’t need to breathe again
And tries to live in the deep lies.

I knew this boy;
So I swam in the sea of sadness:
Although I knew it is dangerous,
I hold on to my last breath of happiness
Only to share with him hoping he could live again.

Mother’s Smile
by Michael R. Burch

There never was a fonder smile
than mother’s smile, no softer touch
than mother’s touch. So sleep awhile
and know she loves you more than “much.”

So more than “much,” much more than “all.”
Though tender words, these do not speak
of love at all, nor how we fall
and mother’s there, nor how we reach
from nightmares in the ticking night
and she is there to hold us tight.

There never was a stronger back
than father’s back, that held our weight
and lifted us, when we were small,
and bore us till we reached the gate,
then held our hands that first bright mile
till we could run, and did, then flew.
But, oh, a mother’s tender smile
will leap and follow after you!

I have dedicated this poem to my mother, Christine Ena Burch, and my wife, Elizabeth Harris Burch. Published by TALESetc, Famous Poets and Poems, Poems for Big Kids (anthology), Victorian Violet Press, Better Than Starbucks, Promosaik (Germany), Pour Femme (Italy), Korean Palmers, JIT Jaipur (India), Inspirational Stories and Care2Care; also Penguin Books Valentine’s Day Contest Winner and included in the Children of Gaza song cycle by composer Eduard de Boer. Abba!
Abba!
Abba!

There was silence

Except the rustle of the dry leaves
And the wind
And the thumping of the heart

Everything was silent

The night was moved, not to move at all,
Least, they would come, and the moments of love
That flowed as blood, would turn in screams!
Love cries would be turned to love screams
Flesh made for freedom, would be freed from the bones

Hush! Said the night to the leaves, and they feared to stir,
Let’s give this boy, some moments of peace, and silence they said,
For the boy was born in silence, moved in silence, lived in silence
And silent was his mind, for knowledge has been stirred in love, God said’

Abba!
Would you forsake me?
He cried, cause he knew, his faith on love was to be tested tonight!
Slowly wrenching heart out, in front of Ma!

Would you forsake me? Abba!

If this is your wish, so be it!
He said!

And night whimpered in fear, the moon hid her face in pain,
Leaves failed to move

The Legionnaires have arrived
As King is being carried to Kingdom!
So was the King taken away to rule!
All hearts of love! till the world would break apart, or explode of love!

If this is your Wish, Abba! So be it!

Unsettled heart keeping me up at night
Emotions leaving me raw, overcome
What was once okay lost its security
Who am I and what have I become?

What sacrifices am I making and
Where will these sacrifices take me next?
I'm afraid that they won't understand
I'm afraid of the judgement they'll project

And so the words remain hidden inside.
Whilst people abide by what they should see
The words free to roam, wreak havoc on my mind.
And agree to expel what shouldn't be.

Never afraid of what would never happen
Until I saw what was not to be seen again
Trying my hands at a Shakespearean sonnet style of writing. The syllable count varies on purpose.. the rhymes didn't quite make it, I'm too used to free verse poetry...
The message rather than the words is what has me writing

The echos are burning through the valley at dawn.
The voices are muffled but seep out through the calm.
They are asking for forgiveness they beg for a change.
They wonder if we will take them from the weight of the blame.

Who are you deceivers, from where do you hail?
Why did your creator build you to fail?

The voices speak of rebellion that creeps in the night.
Who will bound through the darkness and burst in to the light.
The bringers of disease, talkers of fame.
They beat us to submission in the dirt of the plains.

The savages you are that hail from the earth.
Created form dust, molded in dirt.

The master speaks of the bridges he's burnt from the streams.
Ignited by torches who were ripped from the trees.
The builder of fires, the polluter of dreams.
The layers of waste are bursting from the seams.

Retreat to the darkness, and be banished from earth.
Leave it all in vain, your birth was a curse.

The moon returns again rising through the sky in the night.
Reflecting its azure light in to the eyes of the flies in flight.
Take us now to shelter, remove us from this vice.
On the painful journey away from this sacrifice.
when the world ended,
i fell to the floor,
tears rolling down,
the future tore.

heart in my throat,
my jaw felt weak,
you held me tight,
you kissed my cheek.

when the world ended,
your hand on mine,
softly caress,
fingers entwined.

no whispered words,
you let me be,
your quiet strength,
meant the world to me.

And on that day, when the world ended,
you held my hand,
you stayed with me,
you made me see,
my world could be...
mended...
again...
someday.
