Oh what I would give to throw the alarm clock away
Just you and me, sleep, for an entire day
Because you're my best friend
You know it's true
When I'm in your presence, I never feel blue
Oh, sleep, I share all my dreams with you

A new sight we could see
If only for a minute
But the clock keeps ticking
And soon this slumber will have to finish

Another minute today?
No, maybe an hour, let me hit the snooze, please!
Just a little more slumber to put my mind at ease!

Buzz. Buzz.
Oh life comes calling,
This time I won't pick up the phone
Just you and me, sleep
We'd never be alone

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
Please not again!
Oh, sleep, why can't you just stay?
I'll ignore my responsibilities,
if only for a day!

Buzzzzzzzz. Buzzzzzzzz.
Our relationship, this alarm always seems to complicate
It's just that, when I'm with you, you always make me late!

Buzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Okay, fine, this time I'll get up
But only because my snooze button,
Has finally had enough

A faint echo of the rain
Leaving the streets in pain,
Gradually calming calamity,
Lonely streets of sanctity.

Upon a rusted sewer grate
He lies, a broken waste.
Broken without sobriety,
Addicted to the melody.

The melody of the rain,
Elaborate, fervent dancing,
Mesmerizing bringer of rust.

A kaleidoscope of street lights,
Waylaid by the rain's knights.
Puddles of crystal clear sight,
Markers of an addict's delight.

The thumping of machinery,
A means to an end for humanity
Transport me to your city,
Bloated with delight and pity.

I wanna have nights with you

where you take me out in your Audi

we go to an abandoned lot

and we just lay on the hood

and stare at the stars

and have unspoken thoughts leak from our lips

and delicate finger tips touching each other

sharing warmth under twinkling lights

Don't be afraid to be a mammal,
designed to laze.
Learn a lesson from the kittens,
eat, sleep, play.
Shame has no place
saying the day was a waste.
Society pushes productivity,
filling every second with money-making,
side jobs, schemes.
Take a seat society,
let us dream nonsense dreams.
Let us use time to sit back,
soak in the sun,
and smile.

The way we go
It's so calm
The life goes on
The time stops

We are constantly trying to find peace, love, happiness
Now I know - You can't find it, Let it go
Look around and enjoy

The life is here not there
Today not tomorrow
Don't waste your time
Smile, laugh and walk
Enjoy the way we go
little poem I wrote in Thailand surrounded by people who have very little but enjoy every moment of their lives

already awaiting
another summer,

in great stillness,
to spread out over

the pruned grass and
mingle with the gentle

sway of the flowering
gulmohars...

Swaying in the middle of a roaring crowd
Heartbeat steady, I can't hear a sound
The silence is deafening

On the bus with so many around
Facing forward, head hanging down
The silence is deafening

Sitting at home, family full on
Eyes shut, my mind gone
The silence is deafening

Standing in a long checkout line
Switched off, stare on, all's fine
The silence is deafening

At a party with friends on a Friday night
Standing alone, music loud, dim light
The silence is deafening

The silence we hear when our minds shut down
When thoughts are deep and in silence we drown

Enjoy these times for what they are for
An escape from the madness, till our minds restore.

Relax, everyone tells me
Just breathe, you'll be fine

When will people realize
Being told to relax
When you're mid panic attack
Does nothing?

And breathing
Is what you're trying to do
But when you are crumbling
Under the weight of the world
It can be hard to catch the breath

This is not in your control
And that is the problem
You want to relax
You want to breathe
But you can't
Without control of yourself

Hitting the pillow.
Drifting off for the evening.
No worries for now.
