Suppose there is no life in space, just us. And we inhabit Mars,
air condition Venus. Hold family barbecues, national holidays
on Mercury. Fly to Jupiter for spas of ammonium nitrate.
And go farther afield in the galaxy and on to other galaxies
leaving behind map-faced men, crow-like women and open gates.

Who will be the first-born human on the moon? News
from the moon colony! And so on, on every planet where
we've visited and established dusty villages or vast cities
over thousands of centuries. Then, will we not have somewhere,
somehow, under some sun's rays become another species?

The Grand Canyon is like the brain
with deep, unexplored fissures and tributaries,
the main route well known by now.

I am walking, walking inside my mind,
a grand canyon, a planet of canyons, a system
of planets. The exploration may become dangerous

I might lose my job, forgetting to go or losing
sight of its importance. But the job is gathering
pinyon nuts and saguaro fruits, it is the main

river, deepest cavity, how I find the unexplored
canyons and tributaries of my neighbors
and my enemies. But is it a religion,

a reason for living. It is a marriage, for better
or worse, with all the other living. The concept
of life's brevity, temporary compared

with the time taken to carve the canyon, does
not interest me. Each moment has a weather,
is a mirror of all other moments. The naming

of things goes on. Cliff rose and wavyleaf oak,
new mexican locust and sagebrush among ponderosa
and pinyon pine, juniper. Once I know

who they are inhabiting the canyon, the raven's
flight is meaningful. The raven's rock cave,
search for seed and carrion, my home and job.

I am a girl that calls herself a planet.

I do this because I look around and I see that I don't belong. I first thought it was the world that was different, but as I grow older I see that it is I that differs. The things I like are deemed weird. I speak with blunt force and honesty- but in this society that is looked down upon. I am not what beautiful is defined to be. In fact, I'm the exact opposite. So, I choose not to be seen.

Yet, I want to be wanted. Though being wanted is unattainable for a planet like me. I have a house, but not a home. I have parents and siblings, but not a family. I have people to talk to, but not friends. I am alone. It's not that I feel too small for this world, it is that I feel too big. I'm not good around people. So, I must be alone for the better of society. And I'm afraid, that I will be alone for the rest of my life.

That is the burden of being a planet; remaining untouchable.

If earth is a mother
We are mother *******,
I swear it's not an ugly name
It is a name
we have earned after awesome ashamedly acts.

We are not simply satisfied with unclothing earth
We love to drill deep inside her womb
And love to ***** huge minarets of her own meat and bones
On her emptied-self;

Earth is a symbol of our unending desires:
Our need are not in our little stomach
They reside in our devilish mind
We are ******* pampered children
We have learnt to live on her depleting signs.

Ignorance is our times' global religion
Lured easily by biblical stories
Told by our corporate priests
My stomach is a warehouse of fast-food chains
My mind is advertisements' gutterhole
Every night I wait to be slaughtered like a hog;
May be now days we are not born with brains
We are jungles of moving men
With umbilical cords gone.

We are dead suckers
We are mother *******.

She
The stars follow her
everywhere she goes
When she gets lost,
she will let them guide her home.

Thee moon sings her lullaby
While she watches it look at the earth
With a certain longing
Not so very new to her.

And the sun,
Well it bleeds for her pain every evening
And paints the scarlet love all over the sky

The planets spin
Ever so slowly
So that she doesn't trip
And yet keeps progressing

The galaxies reside in her
Demanding her attention
To first name each stars that reside within her
Then look anywhere else

The light travels
Miles and miles
Only to land at her feet,

And the wind blows
She has heard them sigh
Because they are never able
To stay still
And just have a long look at her

So don't feel bad for her
Don't underestimate her power
Because she is kind enough
For she has got the whole universe with her.

"Baby, let me be the one to name every star inside your soul"
Baby, you can, because they have never shone better than when you were there appreciating their spark :*
The man said look there
and the skies went red,
He pointed directly
as the many fell dead.

Is this now his quiet
words added in.
The legacy from
a world full of sin.

A long, long, long,
time ago it is said.
Even before humanity
ever raised it's head.

The world had a soul,
the tempo was nice.
In fact it was
a real paradise.

Simple creatures knew
that life was rough.
They also knew when
enough was enough.

And although they
sometimes had to ****
it was just to survive.
Never for the thrill.

That curse came later
and when it began
the name of this curse,
the arrival of man.

And so it has gone
millennia has past
and the world that we've ruined
is not going to last.

So here it starts,
plagues on the street.
And people are falling
down dead at my feet.

Trying to run,
driving their car
but with nowhere to go
they will not get to far.

They mistreated this planet
they maligned this place
and now this planet earth
is looking them in the face.

rust and ichor

veins are lacerations
and ruptured
seams

no idyllic countryside
sinkholes and lava
from the skin
to the bone marrow
from the ribcage
to the deepest
HEART

the earth is bleeding
edged with scarlet
a septic wound

her nature spasming with
her groaning
whales die from their
weeping
sea life washed ashore
in their hundreds
of thouands
birds fall from the sky
white doves become
black as ravens
oily and ravenous
mass extinction
honey bees
will be
no
more
to
pollinate
anything

the earth is bleeding
war's bitter wine
seeps from every pore
of mankind

hatred the cup of
the world
the grail to be drunk
deeply
til tomorrow is
sated and
there is no longer
any blood
to
be

spilled**

I've been off site

A friend does research on the
animal die offs and the other
plights of our planet

Only my faith in the Lord
keeps me from being extremely depressed

The fact is that we will never be able
to heal what we have done to
this planet. Wars are escalating.

Is there anything that can be done?
Well. I have a suggestion.

PRAY.

Steel claws rip at open grounds
Chemicals ripe with poison flood into quiet waters
there is a sickness in the air tonight
the kind that scares the wary but suffocates all
Buildings grow where trees have collapsed
Blood and fur get caught in traps
Drive a car or grab an axe
the end is all the same

Steel claws with nothing to rip
Chemicals sitting in poisoned water
there is a sickness in the air
the kind that stretches your eyes
and brings the words out of your mouth too late
“This was a mistake”
