Part one

We were weightless.
From dawn till dusk
Racing on our bikes
We had only just learned to ride.
Pretending time was infinite
and tomorrow was a promise;
We lived on wheels.

Part two

I later learned independence.
I cooked my own dinners
walked to school
And I made my bed in the morning
because despite what it was like at the time,
It made everything feel a little less messy.
Maybe I’m not so weightless anymore
and maybe you’re not either.

It was a quite place
The wind spread through the wild flowers
Like a wave
She closed her eyes
She laid in those wild flowers
For a long time
So long her fingers and toes sprouted roots
Grounding her.

The world

What is the world?
Does it describe our world?

The world of every single one?

You might be my world or I might be yours.

Everybody has their own perspective.

Everyone’s is the right one.
It might be different of what you’ve imagined but it is your world.

You can change your world
and you can have an impact on the whole world.

You can make the world a better place.

You have the impact
-
Use it
Make it your world

The sun, shined warmly this morning.
Yet by noon the rain clouds rolled in.
We donned our sweaters and hats.
Yet off they came and the clouds parted
And the sun began to shine.

Facing the sun
It warmed our cheeks
Lifted our souls.
Our hearts understood
Even when it rains
The sun continues to shine
Above and between the clouds.

COVID-19 is just like a little rain
In the larger scheme of Life.
When trouble comes
We don our coats
And remove them
The sun shines  hot upon us.

Day after day,
Season after season
Year after year
Looking between the clouds
Lifting our eyes to the Light
Noticing the wheels
Within the wheels
And cycles within cycles

It is the same within
As is above.
The sun in its orbit
With the Earth revolving
And turning upon itself
Inward around the sun.
Season after season
Circling, around
The evolving celestial paths.
Until this too is but a memory of long ago
When the COVID viruses used to roam the earth.
And this too shall one day pass into history. For there is a part of us that will always remain eternal and never die.

it is never too human to love,
for it is beyond human to let love
conquer the unconquerable things.

when i say
'things will be okay,'
i mean that things will eventually work out
that doesn't mean life is going to become perfect, no
but it does in fact mean that the things you're worrying about
right now
will be okay
they will become memories
and you'll forget about the time you were so stressed for finals you didn't eat for 48 hours
things will be okay
you'll forget about what it was like to turn 17 when you were 18
and you'll never remember your favorite song as a 1st grader
on December 13th
you just won't
and for that
things will be okay
i think we need to remember perspective

Wait on the Rock Who is your strength
and on His all-sufficient grace rely.
Each body-ailing, pain-prevailing,
stamina-failing groan or sigh
consider now at greater length
in light of heaven’s eternal stock.
~~~
"I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
~ 2 Corinthians 12:7b-10
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
~ Romans 8:18
We are not heroes.
We are just people,
trying to survive.
You and I,
are not equals.
You work from home
while I...
I work to ensure
that I get to keep mine.
They call us essential,
because we provide
all the food and the things
that help keep you alive.
But I am resentful
that I don't get to decide,
What is more worthy,
my labor or life?
So don't call me a hero.
I am simply doing
what has to be done.
Don't call me a hero,
unless you plan to treat
and pay me like one.
Some days, I see the world in slow motion,
I see beyond than what’s in front of me,
I’m washed offshore in a wave of feelings,
I’m not in a sea, but in an ocean,
of emotion, just waiting to break free,
I feel every individual soul,
their struggles, their hardships, their happiness,
I see the hidden trail of tears, rushing,
coursing down their cheeks, I can see the pain,
and the smile that they hide it beneath,
as if letting out what they feel is bad,
because no one will ever understand,
not truly get what they possibly feel,
It’s true, people only care for themselves,
it’s not surprising, if they don’t, who will?
I can finally take a walk in their shoes,
see life behind a different pair of eyes,
experience another perspective,
when you think about it, what’s left to see,
is that, on the inside, we’re all the same,
we all feel fear, we all have weaknesses,
we all have courage, and the strength to stand,
even when the world is falling apart,
on days like those, I see the unity,
because in the end, aren’t we all human?
