Poet X May 2021
in attempt to immortalize you
i spoke to stars of you
to the sun and the moon
told them of all your glory and
they told the trees who told the birds who spoke to the fish of all oceans
i wrote your name into my soul as though it was my own
i spoke to the whales of you
of all your beauty
of your smile,
which challenges even the seas with it's depth.ย ย
in an attempt to immortalize you
i carved your name into stone
and said a prayer to the gods of old and young

in a attempt to immortalize you
i succeeded
so you may live on
long after
humanity joins the dust
you said you never wanted to die

Why does the moon keep on hiding their dark side,
Am I turning into just like you,
reflecting the bright and hiding in the dark night.

May your silver beams illuminate
My crown rusted and weathered
Damaged by salt and course Earth
Gusting air howling and stealing
Leaves aged and clinging heavily
To what was their childhood home

Might you offer to calm my sea
Being roughly pushed and pulled
By your beautiful but ruthless phases
Crashing into my manicured shores
And undertaking my ships and
Seemingly innocent ******

You sit up there so far above me
Unapologetic for what you wreck
But such is this timeless ebb and flow
And your light does guide me home
I am humbled and thankful
Grateful for your pale embrace
Everyday you wait for me to come
That smile on your face
when you look at my side
For everyone I'm just a moon
U made me your friend
They talked about my beauty
U looked at my painful scars
So now i promise you
In the dark of night
When you feel sad
I will be your light
Without saying anything
I will be shining on you
Then look up and give me
my favourite smile
Moon is my imaginary friend.
You don't always see them but you know they are always there ๐Ÿ’ž

Dark cloud gown covered moon
                    Searching for your surface

Led by the scattered streaks of light
I see when the wind lets your skirt drift

The majesty
                    Beauty with a purpose

The silent stoic sun king
Even bows his head in your service
                    Cracked, barren and imperfect

Yet you bear your face
                    Reflected on every surface

The ever-watchful unveiled bride
Our clear open eyes in the darkness of an eternal sky

Drawn to the edge of the water
in concert with the moon
tides ebbing, flowing,
tasting, smelling,
feeling, hearing,
waves of the sea
crashing, salty, wet,
transporting meโ€”
Inner peace

Inner peace
transporting meโ€”
crashing, salty, wet,
waves of the sea
feeling, hearing,
tasting, smelling,
tides ebbing, flowing
in concert with the moon
Drawn to the edge of the water

A song lasts
forever once
it is held
as a secret
found, when
it tells you,
โ€œseek me
not when
you wish
to find me,
you will
adrift to me
unknowingly,
whether
in leaves
as pages,
stars as
eyes,
flowers
as hearts,
floating
petals as
the loverโ€™s
touch,
the words
we share
as the
moon
drifting
waves,
I seek to
be the
one that
touches
you, as
the stars
in their
tides,
the
soft
as the
lavender
dancing,
the wind
carrying
the aroma
through
your hair,
nature
allows
you to see
the light
silently
glowing
in others,
the steps
of people
are as the
fields
soaring
under a
zephyr,
your
hands
reach
for the
skies,
I return
to you,
as your
origin, the
fragile and
deep bud
waiting to
be opened
as the
others,
whom,
as you,
await the
sunlight
awakening,
seeker of
truth, look
no farther
than the
bird upon
your palm,
singing a
prayer of
home
you will
create
wherever
you may
roam
in the
fields of
flowers and
beyond,
to the
eternity of
you and I.
