A sigh, an exhalation,
Relief from all of the weight.
I float, just for a moment,
Just for an hour or two or three
Just us, only family
And yes, soon it will be gone,
But for now it is enough:
This feel of a feathery laugh,
That tingling warmth, that upward curve
Of lips and teeth, that playful verve,
This air of placid comfort,
Like a hug, enveloping sweetly.

I don’t dare let it go,
As a child clasps her mother’s hand,
Fearing that it won’t come back,
And truly, I can’t make it stay,
For buds will bloom and then decay,
But this is manna for the soul,
For now, it is enough.

And the weight, it will come back,
The scene fading into black,
The dust will blanket and will bury,
This moment, though it won’t last
Is a pinpoint of light to carry
When I am as the trodden chaff.

walking down the road
steps on crunchy leaves

looking up and down
humming to myself

feel the chilly breeze
smell the autumn air

taking it all in
each step, each leaf, each day
before you realise

another seasons passed,
and it’s already May
what a great challenge it is, to remain present..

not a word written
not a word uttered
thoughts stream
like traffic on the motorway
so many journeys
so many destinations
not even sure
if they all make it
Sunday fades into a sunset
Monday looms with it's onset
nothing to do but wait
a perfect moment passed
a perfect moment lost
darkness descends
this will be no more

Oh to be there!
In present right here
To live right now
Forget every other thing that makes you
crease your brow
To breathe in
And take this moment wholly pristine
To laugh or cry
But no pondering over past and future
with a sigh
To enjoy just this
with whatever does and doesn't exist
In present right here
Oh to be there!

I’m twenty two for a moment (yet & nonethless)

disbelieving the evidence,
just disinformation, don’t
doubt it, time to choose,
two paths, yet & nonetheless
one rash, one planned

no understanding that
plans goes awry,
no one told me that
well laid plans don’t get
you laid in a way you want

poor-choices, each fork in
the road, safely decided,
and

safe is a four lettered word

now forks stab from within
they age souls,
poison of chronic regrets,
devils butterfly swim round head,
how came it be,
be,?

am I being?

no one answers
but the forks, ting!
reminder we now your
best, worse, only friends

I’m twenty two for a moment
(yet & nonethless),
and the irrevocable,
the deaf sensual,
the all casual,
doesn’t comprehend
the choices are not
choices at all, they are

life or death

This moment will be gone,
before I blink my eyes.
I'll take this moment with me
to  the grave, the paradise.

I'll cherish it like my baby,
I'll sing it like a song.
And you can call me crazy,
I'll stand by it proud and strong.

Oh, ditching it in the past
much easier would be, no?
But I will make it last,
I will not let it go!

This moment, one of a kind,
it'll never happen again.
Against the odds of time,
timeless it will remain.

You told me to jump,
take the risk,
take the leap of faith.
I jumped out of trust,
expecting to fall right into your arms.
Instead I met hard ground,
a thin layer of rocks.
Cuts, bruises, and wounds
Crushing, suffocating pain
Yet I only cried the moment I realized you betrayed me.
