He is the last of all the dragons

With the fire in their hearts.

On the mountainside he lounges,

And drinks himself apart.

Languidly he lies about

And lonely, he does sip

From his large, golden goblet

Till there’s nothing but a drip.

You see,

Once he had companions,

Fellow Dragons like himself;

But then there came The Great Flood

Which moved with speed and stealth.

It rushed over the plains so fast,

Crushing all that crossed it’s way.

Dragons everywhere fell tumbling to the ground

With a roar and a rumble;

Such tremendous sound.

Dragons fell about with a mighty, splashy thud!

Now the land is all in tatters

And dragons beneath the mud.

Apart from the lonely dragon

With the fire in his heart.

He sits upon the mountainside

And he drinks himself apart.

they say he was a clever ****
the cleverest **** around
there were no *****
as clever as him ever found

his Dickie manner
smarter than all the rest
which proved beyond doubt
that he was the best

**** became a legend
for being so sharp of mind
never had the world
seen such a brilliant kind

the expert **** known
near and far
his absolute brightness
made him a star

but sceptics had another
opinion of *****
they saw that he was
a numbskull brick

you'll always get
an opposite point of view
from folks who have a defter
more insightful review

She shoots up on stardust
Untill she is a galaxy
unto herself.
nigh is rain
but dance this refrain
on a day as sad as today
still made it through her exposed
as Guinevere has a barometer of faith
while an ingenue we've traveled  flat as board
in a spring this year sourly won by fascination in death
a woman as superfluous with meteorology mostly cloudy

we imagine
a fire surrounding a princess
we don't want to be afraid
she is worth the agony of our fantasy
would we die for her
because her smile reflected the water
as a dream reflects our sorrow
would we?
or is it just a myth
the greatness of one man
willing to die for love
or is it only his people
who love the story
for it is their fire
and it burns inside their minds
to risk death is to say
love is theirs to keep
and beauty
is not to be bound by dragons
or shallow men
blinking as a light skips past
like a rock
across water
held aloft by the force of our desire
to walk upon water
believing in the impossible
believing in love
no matter the cost
no matter the loss
Add some deep and blue skies

A dash of lonely teardrops

And some lost souls
Mix in a little hope

And the mix becomes
healthy smiles
Out with the old

And in with the new

Removes the tarnish off the moldings

And brings forth a brand-new you
Erase the doubt

And clear the cluttered memories

Ian Garrick, he sailed the Seven Seas
or Captain Redbeard, as he's known to you and me
He loved riches, as well as flesh and wine
But death and destruction are what filled most of his time

Captain Redbeard, despised and feared
Ian Garrick, he died at sea
The Crimson Captain, he came to be
The Dread Phantom Pirate King
Without Mercy

The King’s Commander, the mightiest to sail
Remembered just by title in his enemy's folktale
Died in battle, attacked to no avail
But still saw the captain fall
Beyond the Pale

His eyes were gold as fire
Demise, his sole desire
His eyes were gold as fire
Demise, his soul desired

In nightmares, Ian Garrick lives
Captain Blood-N-Gore
The images his name still gives
of Horror, Hell and War
Are bound to silent darkness
In the Depths of Nevermore
Until a poor fool summons them
In suffering, Reborn
Part of a much larger literary piece I'm working on.

Set like a concrete
If it melts, only by fire
I would keep it simple
Never try to overheat
Save some ice for safety
But if only I had a safe

I may upgrade my cup
Pour more water
If it overflows, upgrade
These stairs don't last
Head to the head
Look down and look up
Praise my Lord

This statue won't ever shake
Earthquakes dare try once
Legends get up
They don't give up
Redemption - XIV

Overcome the fear of losing because if you fall and don't get up, you are not brave. So, believe in yourself. You can achieve it.
