"It is June. I am tired of being brave."
--Anne Sexton, The Truth The Dead Know.
obnoxious Jun 2015
my life was every shade of gray i could imagine
but then you came in like a newly found breeze
it felt like June
You were just like June
warm hearted
fun-loving
but when things took a turn you tore me down like a hurricane
and as the storms became more frequent
you left
Another night, I'm blackout drunk
I swear to god, I'm just in a funk
Sleeping in a pool of my filth
Of tears and sweat, plus my guilt
The guilt I feel for leaving you
On the front porch in mid June
Oh, how long, my time is dire
I'm losing control of my desire
Breaking myself down
Building back up
Maybe I'm just, stuck in a rut
I'm burning a hole through my skin
Maybe if I continue, I can see you again

June will kiss you and tell you that you’re beautiful,
July will ******* senseless and leave you with a bleeding heart,
August will try to put your broken pieces back together only to get cut and leave you still broken,
September will bruise you and ask you why you’re still crying on the floor,
January  will snap  you in half and  later kiss your scars but only ends up cutting you deeper,
February will be an ocean of self destruction, washing over you and gently cradling you in it’s arms,
March is broken records all over your apartment floor and driving to the liquor store at 4 am,
April is blood in the sink, crying yourself to sleep, shaky hands and breaking down every time you hear his name,
May is a storm forming in your eyes when you realize that you need to save yourself and when you stopped loving yourself, they stopped loving you too, when they tell you that wounds will heal, you know that you’re never going to forget.
All you wanted was to hear the words ‘i’m never going to leave you’

When we face towards the east
North is left and south is right
When we see towards the sky
We see the birds flying at height
East end sun to us doubloon
West end will be ending soon
Learn directions, sing a song
Four directions round you all
If you face hurdle, confuse
Think a while to have recall
You can learn if you don’t mind
West is diving see behind
Oh, oh, hay, hay, he or she
They and you too can it see
We are facing rising moon
Autumn, winter, April, June

This morning I saw
A turtle dove
It flew across my path
It landed on the pavement
And then it waddled off

I wondered what it was doing
What thoughts were in its head?

'I must gather food
I must perfect my nest
I must look after my child'

I wondered as I walked
About the thoughts I possess

My family
My workplace
Society
A mess?

Would it be simpler if I were a turtle dove?

Being human means caring for everything

The sun
The sky
The earth

Romance novels should be put in the fiction section
Because nothing can get rid of this ******* friction
I'm writing it like it's my ******* mission
**** an end
this isn't a ******* trend
This better not be read in some **** book club
Before that happens I'll drop a hair dryer in the bathtub
Read the whole thing not just a stub
cause this nonfiction is about our love
**** a rose and dove
I'll give you a sunflower and a bird of
pray to see you every **** day
or for you to stay
in the book
so I can read it again and take a look
from your perspective
and how you picked me even though you're so selective
