Once in my life I wanna be me
I want to stop listening to people's judgements
I want to stop comparing myself to others
I want to stop being like other people
But I can't...

It's like this universe wants me to be like everyone else
People look at me in odd ways when I wear my favorite shirt
They judge my overgrown hair
They laugh at my make-up free face

But the thing is
I like that old shirt that has a burrito on it
My hair is what makes me, me
I don't like make-up

But why do I have to be like everyone else
Why must I constrict my freedom to someone's liking
Just because they say I wouldn't "fit in" if I don't

Maybe it has something to with me
Maybe I just need the confidence to
Jump up and scream
"Hey, I can be different!"

It is going to be difficult to do that
To leave my little bubble
But what if I do leave the bubble,
Does that mean I can be who I wanna be?

Is the book too detailed beyond
the cover's revelations? Are there
some topics hidden too deep,
aspects that need vivid
reading to understand...
Or are you the open book,
every detail etched
on the cover.
Must I flip through all pages
or does the title
"You get what you see"?
say it all? Are you what
my eyes think you are
or there's pretty
much more to the
untold story than
can be revealed
by a single
cover?

When you judge someone,
All you did
Was judge your own perception
Of what that person is
You didn't like it
Because you're a ****

Fun
Call us crazy
Cast your judgement
we're having fun
you're welcome to watch us
For all those people who judge people being wierd.

Walk blindfolded through the city
to not see is a pity
unable to see the light
on this beautiful night
as we reach the mirror pool
judgement passed
like we're crazy

We take off our socks and shoes
as people exchange their views
Through looks and glances
we take our chances
and continue to run through the fountain
as the night become later
and later

numbness felt in our toes
as the unheated water shows
what it can really do
we put on our shoe
the the other
feet still wet
From the water as we leave
maybe something different next week.
We're crazy what can I say

In my own rights am a sinner
With no words to explain why
You look at me with such eyes
That speak ill more than they see flowers

I maybe of  less value but my hearts'
Battles have surpased my own excitement

Lay not your faults against me but
Rather see me in   all   my drenches
And let me into your warmth.

I'm a mountain that has been moved,
I'm a river that is all dried up,
I'm an ocean nothing floats on,
I'm a sky that nothing wants to fly in.
I'm a sun that doesn't burn hot,
I'm a moon that never shows it's face,
I'm a mouth that doesn't smile,
I'm a word that no one ever wants to say.

if the sky opened up and started pouring with rain,
The antichrist sent back on judgement day,
Would you be alright?
Would you survive,
Would you even be saved?

Take all of your sins and burry them fast,
Pray that they turn into seeds,
And then into roots and grass.
So that you'd be alright,
You wouldn't be alright,
He can see the graves.

You'll never be saved.
Ever since I was about 5, my dad was a Christian preacher.
And I grew up around heavy influences of religion, I was told that God could see everything I did and that he forgives all of my mistakes.
I never really believed that he would forgive all of my mistakes, and as a 7 year old girl, I'd pulled the legs off my doll. I thought this was a sin and tried to burry my doll in the garden so that God wouldn't see it and punish me.
My dad told me that God could see the dolls grave where I had buried her, and that he sees everything no matter how much we try to hide things.

The Sovereign reigns on high
enthroned behind the sky
Aware of our distressing woe
He oversees the tragic show
as lies with bullets fly.

Unmoved he sees the dead
beholding him in dread
unable to reverse their course
their being severed from its source
aware of what’s ahead.

The judgement never ends
although we miss our friends
who never yielded unto grace
and now must read upon Christ’s face
a message that offends.

When was it determined that others should judge your worth?

Emotion can overtake and devotion can motivate,
We all want to know our fate until approaching the Holy gates,
Watching affection fade can lead to pretty lonely days
Not knowing our seconds are being thrown away, and so we wait.

Sensation can blind us, but phrases can guide us,
The cadence may fade but the sayings are timeless,
Some 'bravest' are spineless, some 'brainless' are brightest,
The making's expensive but the painting is priceless,

Passion enhances through passionate glances,
Life is controlling, we're just practising aren't we?
This is my take on how our emotions can cloud our judgement, stopping us from seeing things like what we really want and who people really are. Enjoy!
