at the end of a relentless enquiry
she was found sleeping in a cemetery;
as love prompted, from the dna of memories,
he resurrected the lost love in his poetry.

I found immortality in a dream
something something
A secret Beatles album,
Songs rearranged.
And though the answer quickly fades
I was glad to know.

Dewdrops vanish in the warmth.
Lightning fades in a flash.
The moon waxes and wanes; the stars die
the flesh rots; the leaves dry.
Lives waste away
Time flies yet changes stay.
Nothing remains the same
Even you and I will turn to nothing
as the world's mosaic blends in passing.

Our bodies will wilt like flowers,
which each moment slowly devours.
But in such passing there are things
we leave behind
for tomorrow to find.
In my old shell, there it resides,
everlasting and indelible in wake,
that death and passing cannot take.

wizards of words
relish silence.

blazing stars
cry out light.

butterfly thinks
immortality can wait.

Lord of silence
oozes confidence.

sweet nothings
are most eloquent.

Everything I've ever written
Has been just for you.
And though by sorrow I've been bitten
My love for you is true.
With every word, with every verse
You will always remain.
And though some days this feels like a curse,
I still love you the same.
I think that immortalising someone through words is the most beautiful thing a person can do.

So close -
I am
Knowing
Soon
It must end
As expected
Life turns to death
And
Hate turns to love
This un-ending cycle
Wishing otherwise
That one cannot have it all
Even though I thought
Immortality was for me
Knowing
I am
So far -
Can be read from either top to bottom or vice versa. Just experimenting a bit
Eleanor Rigby Feb 2015
Yes, she loves you.
It's obvious.
But she wouldn't go out of her way
And wake up at 5 in the morning
Just to kiss you
Before you went to class.
She loves you
But she wouldn't cry herself to sleep
After you two argued
Over something stupid.
She wouldn't say sorry
For something she didn't do,
She wouldn't giggle to herself
When you crossed her mind,
She wouldn't have eyes only for you,
She wouldn't ******* kiss you
And taste immortality in your lips.

She wouldn't love you
The way I did.

I am not afraid to die.
Maybe it is because
The effort of existing is
Expanding my lungs exponentially
And when they explode,
I will deflate
But I have come to terms
With the fact that
What goes up, must come down.

You wrote to me,
"Do you like being human?"
And I said,
"What else is there?"

I do not believe in God.
God does not believe in me.

I want to carry my mortality
Close to me
To hear it collide with the loose change in my pocket
To check to see if it is still there
When the sun trades places with the moon
And my father smells like coffee.

I like the feeling of
Smoke igniting my throat
Because then I can convince myself
It is only the tobacco
That is eating me from the inside out.

I do not want to be immortal,
The thrill of being alive is that
It is a privilege.

Why do you want to be God?
You will know evil,
My god, you will know evil.
There is no cure,
Not even you
Not even you
But that is okay because
Nothing is good, if everything is good
Nothing is good
Nothing is good.

Let me feel your humanity,
I want to feel
You.
Tell me, do you like being human?
Tell me, what else is there?

Find the girl
Find her world
From the tower
Of crawling bricks
From it's walls
Make her fall
Make me as her all
Make me break
Her even more
She'll bear this curse
She'll bleed the worst
Day after another
Feed her more
Make her live
Forevermore
She'll suffer this
Until darkness occurs
From this day on
This spell be sealed
Make this true
After her sleep
