my world revolves around you
yet your gravity keeps pushing me away
it ***** that i can't convince her how much i ******* love her
Liam C Calhoun Mar 2016
She caught the sun
for she’d already consumed
the night;

And she’d become the night,
so to eat the sun.

And when I, but a moon,
ventured lonely, she’d spend
the stars upon me.
I married her - she'd never leave, I'd never leave, and we'd learned how to make gravity.

Our good friend gravity never lets us down
He helps us onto the sidewalks when we're walking the town

He helps us into the water when we're taking a swim
He helps us stay on the floor where we twirl and spin

He'll aid us as we're standing so we won't fall off of the floor
He'll aid us as we're jumping so we'll always fall back for more

He aids us in our brawls
So that our fists are sure to fall

He aids us in our slumber
so that we'll stay in bed together

But what if gravity left for a while,
And left us to figure out what's up and down

Strolling through the town in the sky
Not the ground

Taking a dive
and ending up in the sky

Dancing on ceilings and walls
And standing on the floor when you suddenly fall

Jumping up and not coming back to the ground
Gravity has let me down
and up you'd gone
Up to heaven
Up to home
I have another ending for this poem, but I just can not decide...

Gravity has let me down
And up you went
To whence you were sent
Up to heaven you'd gone
Up to you're home

You made the words "I love you" flow out of your lips like a simple waltz
It resonated as symphonic pleasure to my ears
You looked into my eyes and I discovered the hidden beauty of the color brown
I dove into those Earthy orbs and you suddenly felt like gravity
You were still, but I was continuously falling for you
I realized what kept me on my feet
Of course, it was your embrace, where I've never felt more at home
You pulled me in, taking my breath away
How I've never felt the sweetest irony of suffocation

I could go on forever retelling how much I adore you
But I'd rather spend that period of time enjoying every second with you

I have exams but I wrote this anyway. I have no regrets~

I am the water
that falls
from your shower head
caressing your body
before
dropping
onto the bathtub floor
I get pulled
towards the drain
and
******
down

I am the ***
hanging on the rack
above
your stove
knock me on accident-
I will
fall
to the ground
breaking the silence
of the night
with the loudest
bang
I will wake up
your entire
household
as I plummit
down

I am the driftwood
floating along
this river
bumping
into rocks
and debris that
the current takes me through
I have reached
the peak of the waterfall
you will hear the roar
as I come
crashing
down

I am the skin that sags
around your *******
as you get older
you
curse me
every time
you look in the mirror
I am the cause
of your insecurity-
where you put the blame
for your marriages failure-
wrinkled
skin
being
pulled
down

I am the ship
with a ruptured
side
my buoyancy
broken
as I start to
tip
towards certain doom
the families and
lives
of the souls aboard me
realize
their fate
and show their true,
human
nature
as we
sink
towards the ocean floor-
as we
sink
down

wouldn't know
life
without it

gravity

bearing it's
pressure
force
attraction
inescapable
******* me
towards her
never leaving
no matter
how much
I beg

always
taking me
down
gravity is depression
Ugo Victor Feb 2016
Gravity is depressing!
I would rather fly
exchange my shoes for a glide
A million places to go
watch me soar
now life's a bit interesting
blissful flips and somersaults
just at times when I'm quite sad
or just because I can
and you can too.

Gravity is depressing;
Gravity is expensive!
Take my car for instance
the one I see in dreams for instance
Or the stress of sending up a satelitte
a job that 10 flying men would enjoy
So it's a yes for space exploration
Would have been easier if
we all went to Mars sometime
visit Saturn for summer
orbiting around it's many rings
of cos there will be a warning around mercury
I hear you might mistake it for the sun

Gravity is boring!

the star
obliviously
makes her
rotations
of life
around
the black hole
glowing
shining
fiery
pits of hell
if you get close,
but providing
warmth
and life
to her planets
that stay
far enough
away

naive
creature
born maybe
closer to the black
hole
than others
doesn't
notice it
as
out of the ordinary
anything
other
than her life

each
movement she makes
she will
be closer
to her destination
closer
to her destiny

took me
twenty years
of life
until I realized
the full force
of my depression

only when
she got close enough
did she realize
she was falling
into
the black
hole
that this
was what
wanted
her energy
her mass
herself
*******
pulling
with more force
than anything
she had ever
experienced

the realization
that her
entire life
was spent
waiting
to be devoured
by this
hell
oblivion
all she knew
was a
fabrication
never even
thought to wonder
what
she was circling
just
ignored
the glaring questions
ignored
the evidence
ignored
all of the signs
until
it was too late
to escape

event horizon

help me

i am trying
to gather
the momentum
strength
power
to get myself
outside
this point
of no
return
seems
impossible
seems
wasted
I won't stop
until I am devoured alive

I am the star
at an
event horizon

black hole
let me
free
half decent, half ****

Space and time is one and the same
Einstein sure knew the game
It's not gravity, but space that pushes you down
In time everything comes around
The space bending time
Holds your feet to the grind
The faster you go, the younger you stay
If you haven't noticed it's always been that way
AM Feb 2016
just before he left
I kissed him again
and he pulled me deeper
I thought he was the gravity
