Distant dreams and memories
Lost opportunities it seems
To the things that could have been
Reflecting on the past at half mast
Easier with hindsight to look at what might
A contestable question mentioned
How far do we plan with conviction
Experience paves the way
Flicking through past sections
Sets direction led astray on a page
Which ways do we cultivate
To lead the order of our day

To imagine the imagination
Is to be drawn into the fire
For those
Creative experience’s
Are hard wired

Enchanted escalade
Up the mountain of archetypes
There your gift of expression widens
In a poetic array of wonder
Together WE
Rain down on the weary world
And a spark of light so blindingly bright
Brings sight to the busy ants

Reassuring
Peaceful
Sweet

Their heads full of contradictions
But hearts beating, steady
Strong
Alive
Persistent
Their mouth bittered by heavy words
But emotions so soft
So pure
So pretty
Humans are complex
Humans are much more than words can say
They are beautiful

Listen to the forest
It speaks
Not in the language we know
Birds singing
Leaves bustling in trees
Dancing with the wind
It blows, whispering
“Come with me, come home,”
The ground releases a crunch
As a hard foot presses down

If I sit here long enough
Will I become one of the branches
Of the tree?

We know

We know

The thoughts we think run around our heads.
They try to make us not forget,
So we remember all that which came before;
Our guiding light towards a better shore.

And as we arrive we climb to our feet,
And in our souls we hope to meet,
A gracious soul, so worn and old;
A beautiful soul, so knowledgeable.

So wise we know that we were meant to teach and learn.
Since night became and the sun began to burn,
We have known we need to become an introvert,
Because deep inside we still feel scared,
Of the things that we once yearned.

So we hide away all the love we hold inside.
We hide away from the possibility of lies.
We hide away until the day that we die.
We die alone because we could never let anybody stand by our side.

I realized

I realized that beautiful things
Bring me joy knowing
That I could return
And experience them again
With somebody new
Somebody to love
Someone whose soul is
Of the same substance
As mine

But knowing that I
May never return
Every experience becomes
A drag through loneliness
A coffee cup of pain
Things end
You can never go back
That is all to learn from life
