clothes thrown into a heap
sitting on the bag to drag the zipper around
that midnight excitement
like a child on christmas
phone ringing
friends asking if they need this and that

wednesday night

There's much to look forward to
Like love
marriage
graduation
children

And Avengers Endgame
I can't wait to watch it and I'm hoping and praying that my friends won't spoil it for me.

Nothing sounds better than scalding sand on exposed feet
The initial chill after diving into a pool of frigid water
Friends gathered around a bonfire while laughter fills the air
Smells of freshly mowed grass and hot dogs on the grill
The slap of flip flops paired with tank tops to show off tan lines
Bright blue skies tucked into bed by bold, bleeding sunsets
Crystal clear nights spent stargazing, sprawled out on a blanket
Windows rolled down and golden hair tousled by the breeze
Making endless memories with those you love.

Walking through the vast trees,
I see with loving excitement and grace.
For, beauty, surrounds me with ease
as I grin and feel Spring’s embrace.
Ready for Spring!

On the rocky shore of a calm mountain lake
A small stone smooth and simple was cast in joy
Fast upon the serene waters did it break
Sending ripples fitting to the caster's ploy
What once was still with excitement now did quake
And though the scene was changed it did not annoy
But caused a wonder, "How many waves would make?"
Much like the pleasures love to hearts can deploy

Love has struck upon the face of our hushed hearts
Like guitar strings now impassioned souls vibrate
And caught up in sensation amusement darts
Not knowing how many trembles now await
All that can be known is when the movement starts
No person, though still they try, can bliss dictate
It, the lot that must be seen by all sweethearts
Enjoy the splendor and seize uncharted fate

I wanted to model my life after a rainstorm:

To embody the excitement and freshness and screaming vitality
of a torrential rain on a hot summer day
To show off my clouds and shout out with thunder
My worries and sorrows, my failures and fears.
To laugh and cry and run and shriek
With windstorms and hailstorms and post-summer sleet.

But most of all,
I wanted to flash through people's lives like lightning
So, so bright and unexpected and beautiful and alive
That they held their breath and scanned the skies
For just one more crackle of energy and excitement
That makes them question their accepted lives.

If nothing else, I'll be petrichor
The soft, sweet reminder of new life to come.
That puts a smile on people's faces
As they, for once, stop, and breathe,
And remember that
They, too,
Are
Alive.

Last night
Holding me tight
He whispered
“You want to keep me?”
Yes, always.
“I guess I’d better get you a ring.”
I smile
Trying to hide what I’m thinking.
That this is terrifyingly exciting.

Amazing
This song my heart sings
Expressing
Emotions
Bigger than words can convey
Each time you appear

I’ve no one to share
the joy that is in my heart
no one will listen
excitement fades when it cannot be shared
