i saw that shift in your gaze
when you remembered
the last time
you became something
Wild, Hungry

whats in my mind, asked
with that eager
and far away look
in muddy water eyes
I sympathize, compromise

it's happened again
while the city lights
rippled the water
with their speed
you put your hands on me

and I doth not protest
when you say
i was the one that got away
so why am I back
so why am I afraid

to turn away or
say this ain't ok with me
why must I empathize
without boundaries
or fear an abrupt ending

to this uncomfortable moment
The History: You put me second. You put me last, asked me if you could grab my *** and all I did was question my worth.

To care for each other
Their eyes somber with pain
But their smiles warm
Reassuring
Peaceful
Sweet
Familiar
Their heads full of contradictions
But hearts beating, steady
Strong
Alive
Persistent
Their mouth bittered by heavy words
But emotions so soft
So pure
So pretty
Humans are complex
Humans are much more than words can say
They are beautiful
I'm in love with humanity
“Inasmuch as you did it to one
of the least of these my brethren,
You did it to me,” proclaimed the Master.
Inasmuch as the body is one
Tuning out the least among us
Is an act of self sabotage.

The mystery of many members in one body
Precludes apathy- abominable ambivalence toward the elect.
The epidemic of savage inequalities in the church
is a glaring act of self-sabotage.

To truly thrive is to transcend temporal tendencies–
it’s measured in connection with the brethren.
To prosper alone is alien to the gospel.
In such a mundane state, shiftiness and perfidy abound.

In an age of narcissism where tokenism thrives,
The redeemed spin out of balance
by taking their cue from the world.

By minding the least of these,
and by shunning an unholy, self-absorbed trend,
We are spared the cataclysm foretold.
There’s comfort in the unity of the faithful
That other state is pure self-sabotage,
added to the drudgery of life.

In your heart,
can you sit with the grieving,
see what they are feeling,
and grow some compassion?

Tears from a stranger,
a mother’s exhaustion,
wearing the body language
of those who’ve been broken.

No hugs allowed,
no warm faces to comfort,
no one to hold,
no matter how much we want it.

In your mind can you comprehend
what all this pain is doing to them.

I’m an empath , to not give is sin
So I will stretch myself paper thin
And when I rip, fix me with tape
Sadly for me , there’s no escape

I told you how I felt
You see me cry inside.
I just gave you my heart
in the palm of your hand.

I thought you don't care
what I was thinking about.
You didn't have a reaction,
but now I think it's fine.

How would you imagine
how bad I was feeling?
How would you know
what I needed to know?

I can't explain
what I really feel.
You can't see
what I really see.

It wasn't your fault,
Now I'm so embarrassed.
You just pay the price
for non-existent empathy.
Empathy doesn't exist if we cannot experience things from another perspective. It's an illusion, it's just an attempt at empathy.

Punch me in the face
Throw me out on the street
Give back to God

Slander my name
Sack me from my job
Give back to God

Kick me hard
Bully me at work
Give back to God

Those who give out negativity
Are lost in their proclivity
Turn the other cheek
It's time to be unique
The line 'Give back to God' kept coming to me whilst I was running in the forest.
