We sat
on the edge
of the kitchen bench,
like most evenings
and shared stories
from our days.

My love,
his eyes
a mirror
for his weary mind.

It's only Monday
he says
watching
Kenny dance
inside a glass.

**** Kenny.
He's no good.

Why are you so sad?
he asks.
I smile and say
because I'm me!
and throw my arms to the sky
like my own personal curtain call.

He sips from his glass,
no longer dancing
and replies
that's a much simpler answer.

I leap from the bench
and embrace him,
cradle his head
to my cold
and bony
shoulder.
Look at his face,
Look in his eyes,
Hear him scream,
Watch him bleed.

Could you really do that...?
Over and over,
Again.

I guess that's why you keep your eyes closed,
mind locked and heart cold.

I know that when I hear the sound
Of falling wood that hits the ground
I think of a tree so innocent
An axe in it making a dent

I wish I could help, but no
They're chopped in sunshine, rain, or snow
The mean old men would stop and quarrel
Never thinking of the bird or squirrel

Down fall the trees
And all the bees
Are mad at men
For smashing their den

I know that when I hear the sound
Of falling wood that hits the ground
I'll know that not just the trees
End up falling to their knees

Protect Trees!

-Hailey A.
I made this poem a while ago. No, I don't care all that much about trees, but it's important to know that when a tree is chopped down, so is an animal's home.
If you want to make a killing;
invest in war.
Seems to work,
for Blair, Bush et al.
Those that follow
the hunger of their self aggrandised,
destiny's lore.
So, roll out the blood red carpet,
leading to the future's hungry jaw.
I won’t be sad to leave this world
Where people beat up on the dogs who love them
And lock their children in a closet to starve.
Where people throw bags of baby kittens in the river
And think it’s a lark without a pang of guilt.
Where lying is always the accepted answer
And stealing is taking what’s felt as deserved.
Where thoughtless unkindness is the rule of the day
And no one can see past their ‘want’ of the moment.
I don’t think I’ll be sad to go.

My hopes have been wounded and bruised
By callous uncaring and selfish spite.
My dreams became nightmares
When trampled on by the bottom line.
My plans were unraveled like a badly knit sweater
When worn in the cold wind of cheating
And bragging of gaming the system.
My ethics are pummeled in rapid succession
By those with agendas much blacker than sin
So I don’t think I’ll be at all sad to go.

The world is now vinegar in fine champagne bottles
The liter of Coke, a molotov cocktail
And our very best friend is the enemy.
The rage on the highway makes it unsafe to drive
And the muggers defy you to walk.
The unwanted ads that spring out from hiding
Are like death from a thousand small cuts.
And the blood of my joy soaks into the ground
Where nothing can grow without any rain
And the heat never melts the ice in your veins.
It won’t be all that sad to just go

Where is the GOOD news, the story of kindness and caring, of helping and encouraging?  I'm so weary of the evilness in this world

How you feeling on the top?
Sharpening your tongue, for another fall out?
So, who to care about the mass now?
Who to cut fleshes by their mouths?

Pin it up on religions, once battled
No you don't want to know, who broke the promise
Who brought the message, who blazed the torch
Feed your own enemies with kindness, they taught
But you're dipping fingers in your own people's platters

Building crisis, rolling dices, conquering heights
Listen when the base breaks, you won't stay there
When their dreams scatter, you owe them
They can pull you down from this ladder
Keep calm and watch him fall

I came here first, so stay back
The words of a tyrant
I can't let you sleep on my pillow
I don't care you made it
This land is mine, I don't share
I don't help no Muslims nor no Mexicans
How could you say we're the same race?
I'm white and you is black
I've set my streams to greatness
They'll flow with blood, I know
Even though,
My strength will shake the world
I'll wreck the ships they sailed
And anchor mine safely, with no fear
He has become the worst nightmare to the good hearted humanity. The rest of the world will witness his mass cruelty.

It doesn't matter what I say
And it doesn't matter what they know,
Tomorrow for me will be a rainy day
After they're through sending me where
No one even knows I may go.

And no matter what happens to me,
You'll be fine-fancy free,
You're all the same, just looking for something
Or someone that looks just like me to blame,
No one would hurt you just the same.

*And what was the point for this madness
That won't ever come to an end?
No attempt to find a way to ease the tension?
Why can't peace between us ever begin?
So you can always be certain you'll always win.

Looking at the birds
Little girl thinks,
"How sweet it would have been
If I had wings."

Looking at the girl
Caged birds sing,
**"No birds would be flying in the sky
If humans got wings."

They still stay being death
But
We live with their burdens
And
carry on with them like peon.
