It takes a brave person
to honestly say
that they have no regrets
when they're in a bad place
I have the up most respect and admiration for anyone who can do this, I haven't met many but the ones I have have inspired me immensely.

What is a soldier?
They are courage
They are this country
They are the bravery
The stronghold
The backbone

What is courage?
It is taking a stand
It is being yourself
It is being strong
Having faith
Facing fears

What is this country?
It is the US of A
It is freedom
It is independence
United
Strong

What is bravery?
It is standing up
It is living your life
It is waking up each morning
Taking life when its rough
A smile

What is a stronghold?
It is security
It is a rock
It is inspiration
Steady
Unfailing

What is a backbone?
It is the weapon
It is the existence
It is what holds us together
The main bone
Keeps us alive

What is a soldier?
Someone we can count on
Someone who holds us up
Someone that saves our freedom
Risks their lives
Faces their fears

Are YOU a soldier?

Why can't people treat each other equally ?
They're way of judging moves so rapidly
The first thing you judge about a person is their face
We should all just be glad, we have a life to embrace

Once I hear a comparison between two people, it makes me delirious,
And their victory makes them feel luxurious
They should think before they say
Or else someone might die today

They probably experienced a moment like this in the past,
But we should finally end it, at last
The words, "you're ugly, you stink, you're dumb"
May just crush that person into a crumb

Absolute bravery, considering dangerous explosives found goals. Helpless individuals juggled keeping lookout, many new operations, people questioning routes, suspects tortured, unsightly views. Wasted x-rays... young Zak.

Earth can see.
Follow.
And Doubt.
That is,
A Dream.

Everyone pursues,
None fall short,
Seeing is believing,
The contrast is short.

Not everyone gains,
For slow they make.
Courage.
It's what counts.
Not.
Gain.

She was born into a red dress
Because the day was passion and strain
Her father kissed her while
Her mother bore the pain

She had a white blanket
Because she was calm
And she hugged it so
Tranquil and amazed at what she saw.

Her school uniform was grey
Because she missed her mother
And people talked to her
On the playground.

She graduated in a black gown
Because she was scared of what was coming
And was lost in the night
School had not taught her how to expect.

She met him in a blue dress
Because her feelings were between
Some loathing and comfort
And she managed to smile.

They married in yellow
Because the sun could not stay smug
And the moon was her companion
Like him that night.

She gave birth in a red dress
Because the day was full of passion
And she bore the pain
While her husband kissed her new one.

And she gave her a white blanket
And she saw her away in a grey uniform
And she watched her graduate in a black gown
She saw her marry in yellow.

And she died in white
Because she was calm
Because her old one was there
Because she had done well.
Another journey through colour. I don't usually do theme poems like this, but I like the topic.

Glass that is shattered
Is not broken
And hope
Is anything but lost

Child you
Must learn the difference
Between the end of a chapter
And the extension of it
One that begets colourful depictions
Of the future that is yet to come
A future that you must not discolour
Simply because it is contrary to expectations

Throw yourself into the sea
And swim with daggers
Let yourself be surrounded by danger
In no other way shall your spirit be developed
In no other way shall you learn

You may shed tears
And that is permitted
For you are human
And sadness is inevitable
But cry only once for the future you envisioned
Gone up in flames
And cry twice
In joy
For the one that I have put in place of the old one
One that needs a twist or two in the road to get there
But who shall grumble about the road to paradise
When it is a worthwhile road like none another
Oh, the places you will go

Some may see this decree as torture
As an impediment on brighter days
But you shall not
For you have heard the news
And no time shall be wasted
On aimless rumination
The unknown is not to be feared
For it is unknown only by you
And the master of the blueprint
Has everything long set in stone

Shattered glass shall never hurt you
Though it comes in torrents
And pierces through skin like a mindless murderer
Protection is always around the corner
Waiting to dart at every necessary moment
Against your adversaries

So live on and live bravely
For danger shall not hurt you
Danger exists in many ways
And the devil is always at work
With morbid Machiavellian honour
Making sure that ships
Shall never sail to shore

Play the game well
And play your cards right
The king and queen yet conquered
And neither should your might
Hold fast to what you live for
And don't let love lose sight

New paths shall make their way to you
New doors open to tides
So live with highest glory
And never once begrudge
For you were born for reasons
Fire don't lose your light

And in the end these tangled knots shall find themselves untied

I suppose if death is staring you in the face, the first one to blink
loses.
