The sun falls swift as an overripe cherry,
Lighter than air, it still laughs like a fairy
Warm and wet and juicy and red
Along the horizon it slowly spreads.
Tossing up splatter to stick to the clouds
Filling the sky, its sweetness astounds

Then washed away by crisp starry rain
Silvery ice that soaks through your veins.
And each sweet day, and every night
The lights fly away, and out of sight,
But surely my dear, to beautiful eyes
Sunset sweet always brings sunrise

The numbers change;
And it doesn't add up.
Change again.

The clocks tick;
One second past midnight,
But the darkness never fades.
Stars don't shine on monsters,
But the world turns on,
Waiting for dawn to come

Twelve seconds left
To fix the world.
Start from within,
The rest will follow.

Sleepless nights, day dreamer see
What this world has been, could be:
Feel the sorrow, feel the rain,
Feel new hope be born again

One morning,
When the sky seemed to be falling,
And rolled around the swirling grey fog,
I stepped out with my eyes, and saw
The most hopeful green peeking from the mud,
the rain poured into the rich earth,
The dark soil ready to take in more life,
It smelled alive, the rain tasted like hope
And that small green became the world
When I smiled at it, and it smiled back.

The crocuses bloom again,
The silken violet reaches from the green,
Nestling its golden yellow smile for the sun,
Night is over! The last of winter's fingers fade,
And beneath the budding blossom shade,
The crocuses bloom again.
