The sun begins
to descend
and I reach
to touch
that distant glow,
a dwindling fury
that falls,
to allow
the cold moon light’s
lovely ascension.

I wait,
longing to rush
that rapturous fire,
to devour
such radiance,
to feast upon
the atoms
that explode.

I am ravenous,
and jealous,
angry at
the otherside
that soon
will come to life
while I am
drenched
in night.

Begging,
I beseech thee
sun please don’t
leave me,

but the gaseous orb
ignores me
as I implore,
cajoling
with strange
disintegration fantasies.

The sun leaves me.
So, I start courting the moon,
because I do not wish
to live so lonely.

Tiana Marie
She is his sunshine when it's raining
She is the warmth when he is freezing
She is the tune that he is singing
She is the music he is dancing
She is the love that he is giving
She is the smile that he's wearing
She is the reason that he's living

but she's also why he's slowly dying.

I have ate them
My ancestors
Unlike the
slave girl who
died tragically
I am so sorry
for that
from the deep cuts of
their white reigned whips
still a slave girl but
sitting on
The wrong side
She think she is cunning
She think she is the only one
Poor girl
Can’t read
Past their big
empty minds
But she is grown enough
And soon all of them
that have died will have
thickened her into a mighty
Meat soup
Healing old wounds...

I made
a beautiful space
in the corner
of my shade,

turned venom
into lace
and raced away
from your hate,

swirled quicksand
with my tired hands,

petted pretty vipers
that hissed,
slithering
to where I stand,

chased fireballs
that were ready
to consume me.

I pursued
my own agony,
bit my tongue
to taste
my own blood,
then spit it out
not in spite
but to watch
the red grow.

I wept in
the spider’s den
embedded in
a cloud of webbing.

I slept in
the sinking ship
that fell into
the cold underwater
abyss.

I lay afraid
to move
and died in
the infinite
eternal
black
that was once
beautiful,
until
it collapsed
and took
all the warmth
I ever had
back.

I did not
go quietly
into the
dark night,

but willfully
astonishing
all who ever
looked inside.

Bigger and better
built within,
well intentioned
and well written,

I moved among
you,
talked
and learned from you,
begged and pleaded
for more decency.

So, when time
finally came for me
I did not go quietly.
I went lonely.

You're an almond joy
A smooth stone in soft flesh
A blank stone sparrow
In crooked wire mesh

You looked over your shoulder
And ignored their descriptive hairs
Dancing with compliance
Giving never selling wares

What unbroken ****** skin
Around your eyes, thy
Eyebrows never meeting, stretching
Happy faces to the sky

I hoped richer feelings
Might comply to your dream, yet
It was laid on shallow and
Cracked and poorly set

Still despite your fret dancing
Your shakes and swoons so full
Graceful, hopeful, ruby bright
Fell dirtied, scratched by gravity's pull

Despite your new company,
Jackal grins that never start
Hope, not one can rival
The sweetness of a young heart.

There's a star gone Nova
Blazing in its death
Somewhere there's a baby
Taking her first breath

There's a tree that's
just been felled
By a lightning bolt
It's burning
There's a man
Who loves a lass
Weeping for his yearning

There is a mountain rising up
Beneath the ocean's depths
There's a promise
That was made
Which was never kept

There's a storm
That's moving in
To quench a Raging Fire
There's woman who is old
Burning with desire

However viewed, the universe
Under Nature's Veil
Is very like your own true face
However wan and pale

The Parables, the metaphors
The things that poets speak
Are in the moon and sun and stars
We have only to seek

When our sun goes Nova
When all mountains fall
We will, at last, perceive our God

The Ruler of us all.

I am so sorry to have gone AWOL for so long. I have a lot of excuses, but none of them are sufficient. I want to spend a few days on this site so I can make up for lost time. I've been on Facebook way too much... It can be very addictive, and because of my health it's difficult for me to juggle social media. But I know a lot of my friends here don't put their poetry on Facebook. So I want to spend some days here to catch up with my poetic brothers and sisters. I've missed you terribly! Its 1:30 in the morning so I have to get some rest now. But I'll be back in the morning.

I really love you.
I have stopped with the poems
That liken me to natural disasters
No more hurricanes named after my two syllable tongue
No more tsunamis, destroying every island I found in a person
I don’t want to be a cataclysmic event anymore
No more doomsday’s or end times
Hellfire held in these lips, no
I am trying to become sunlight
To weave it around me like a great gold cloak
To walk in between the sunbeams and learn from them
How to step lightly into others lives
Leaving the place before slightly more illuminated
I am learning from the moon her heavy slink
The drowsy hug of her light and I am taking
All that nights darkness and weaving a glittering blanket
To lay over my loved ones that they may sleep peaceful
Knowing only the kiss of me and my stars
And not fearing the dark or the dawn or what the angry earth could bring them
I have pushed away all apocalypse inside me
Drank of ambrosia and nectar that the heavens guzzle
And made myself the smooth waltz of homeliness
Comfort resting on my two syllable tongue
Washing tides of peace on every island I see
I am dancing in the solar flares and letting the atom bomb inside me
Erupt into stardust
A wish in every fragment
For my molten blood to quiet and cool,
The rumbling earth of my heart to still,
For sunlight in the fallout that does not burn,
For a new kind of calm, one that heralds no storms

zebra
i see her
and my shadow grows
gold like Harlows hair

then to
black
like a digested sun
and the music of a gnawing universe
with whelping teeth
and melting white candles
gets me dancing
like a dragging needle
through grieving flesh

she droops
like a thick cloud
bending towards me
a sky in flames
in a torn dress

and her kisses whip through me
like wind through mists

Time and I like to race,
And the both of us won’t give in.
We wish to claim first place;
We both deny what’s not a win.

With my eye on the prize,
I try to beat my nemesis.
For it’s time I despise,
It is a thief with arrogance.

And for the longest time,
My rival was in the craved lead.
I now forbid his crime;
I have stolen his spot, indeed.

“How I do this?” you ask.
Well, it is the most simple thing.
Within each day I bask,
And in each small moment, I sing.

I don’t say “Next week I…”
And I don’t mention what has past.
I live for the day, though,
attempting just to make it last.

One day I will have won,
And I will claim my spot: first place.
I am who made time run,
All because I slowed down my pace.

She was like music,
and I longed to dance.

Her heart was the beat,
and I begged for the chance.

Her words were the vocals,
and I was put in a trance.

Her smile was the melody,
and I fell in love at first glance.
