A desire,
A Delight,
To Wrap You in my arms tonight,

A Pleasure,
Wonderful Feeling,
I know this isn't love , but we can say it right now,
cause,
Theres nothing like the sweat rolling off the structures of your back,
Theres nothing like the lips you have so well attached,
Theres nothing like the times we have each other pend,
But we can not Just pretend,
This Love thing takes time,
if necessary then put in effort as well,
i couldn't tell.
Can't love you like that ...

What has the world come to,
When people like you,
Get costody of child you know you can't take care of,
Cause he's only two,
And always care for you,
When you get drunk,
And every time you puke,
Have your temper tantrums,
And threatened your wife to throw him off a roof,
You still got the devils juice in you,
May he be careful towards everything you do,
Hey! But I guess thats what society does.
Cruel World !!!

I grew up in a country
now I live in a business.
America has been stolen
and morphed into
a fascist Disneyland.
Our women are told
if they don't look
25 when they are 60
they don't exist.
Our children are taught
not to ask questions
or defend themselves.
Our young people
are commanded to go
to college, get on
the endless treadmill
of the American Nightmare
or they are failures.
We warehouse our parents
at great expense
so we don't have to face
the reality of death.
Our men sell themselves
for money and power
they can't take with them.
Courage, thrift, honor,
all replaced with greed,
the last recognized virtue.
The only remedy is to say no.
Try to remember what is important:
protect your loved ones,
love your friends,
reject the latest and greatest;
turn off your TV.
You won't change America,
that is lost for good.
But you might change yourself
which is much more important.
The rich will stay rich,
the powerful will keep their power,
the business will keep on chugging,
but you will be yourself,
a sane person in a country gone mad.

no matter how much you are
surrounded by people-
friends & family.
We all experience those moments
where we have to face
certain situations all alone.
So we should learn to trust ourselves
and put faith in our own strength.
That is how we'll be able to face the challenges of the ****** up world.
Trust yourself

Poetry: A lot like wine.
Can’t drink too much,
Nor all the time,
Each wine unique -
A different taste
Sip.      It.      Slowly ……
Don’t drink in haste
Try one with a fruity flavor,
Or maybe it’s a dry you savor,
Sample all the current trends,
Don’t be afraid to share with friends.
So all us wannabe sommeliers
Can compare it to the Bordelaise!
Don’t be content - Experiment.
Try something new!
Tasting should be fun to do!
And like the rarest of all wines
Good poetry endures through time.

Growing Old is so disheartening
filled with too much stress, perplexity and charade.
Getting older made me to envision the malice in society
and the world we live in, which is
full of rapacious and self-centered human beings,
lack of compassion and division of people
on the grounds of ethnicity,
economic inequalities .
I have realized that childhood is the prime phase of life,
where worries were the least ,
and i was  ignorant from the cruel facts of life.
I wish i was just a child and had not been
exposed to cruel facts of life.

~

someone told me once,
poets are a dime a dozen;
yes, "we've chosen a craft
that a pittance pays"
and are most oft
recognized only
by the ashes
of the pages,
the words
we leave behind.

yet, i say write,
write today
like your life
depends on it...

for most of us
it doesn't,

but for all of us
our epilogue
just might!

so write!

i was sitting out
on the porch
of our old historic
home this morning

the beauty of
the desert all around me

birds were making
their early waking
shower songs
the sun having just
arrived in from
the east

the temperature
is perfect
all is right with
the world

right?

WRONG

i was obsessing
about a relationship

i've just had a
breakup

i was thinking
over and over again
about what HE had done

my parents are ill
i was obsessing about that

i am ill
that took a huge part
of my attention

how many times
have i done this?
burned a wide swath
through my
neuropathways
OBSESSING

not on good things

on the
BAD

we always complain
about the way we
ALWAYS
remember
the bad stuff

is this not
what we
OBSESS OVER
?

OUR
NEUROPATHWAYS
ARE SEARED
BY THE

NEGATIVE!!!

and so often we
take the positive

FOR GRANTED

honestly

how much
mental air time
do we give

a glorious sunset
a great time at the beach
a walk in the rain
a lovely flower

A BEAUTIFUL MORNING
?

our brains get
wired
for the
negative

right then and there
i started to
THANK GOD
for the beauty around me

i started to
notice things

a flower that was just opening
the exact color of
the pearleceant sky
(a kind of peachy lavender)

a silly
coyote
his coat
russet and shining
heading down
the alleyways!

IF I'D BEEN
OBSESSING OVER THE PAST
I GUARANTEE
I WOULD NEVER
HAVE
NOTICED

HIM!

i had to smile

and smiling is something
i have not done

IN A LONG TIME

Don't let the negative
burn a pathway
through your
neurotransmittors
on its way to your
SOUL
and into your

You cannot force someone to love you
Only the moon can make the waves kiss the shore but even then they crash together and drift apart
It could be written in the sands of time but the waves will wash it away

Rumor is you break a mirror
Get seven years bad luck,
Well, I ain’t much on rumors,
It’s on the truth I’m stuck.

I looked into the mirror today
What I saw filled me with dread
Some old guy with his hair all gray
Looked like he should be dead.

Age spots covered up his face
There were wrinkles ‘round his eyes
I thought it was a **** disgrace
Or a Halloween disguise.

His cheeks were rough with three days growth
A spot of drool was on his chin
I was pretty shocked, I guess, but not too loath
To look again.

This time I looked inside of me
To the things the mirror won’t show.
To a mind still clear with memories
And a heart where love still grows.

My soul needs some forgivin’
Hell, I’ve lived o’er eighty years
Mistakes made just from livin’
Most washed clean with tears.

I’m thinking that my mirror lied
Maybe it’s already broke,
And the reflection of my outside
Is just a ghastly joke.

Because the inside me is still a boy
Having fun most every day
Living life that’s always filled with joy,
I’m gonna throw that mirror away.

One foggy morning I went walking
Down the pathway to the sea
Cool and dreary
Very eery,
Something, Someone followed me.
I hurried forward never turning
Was I afraid my past I’d see?
I stopped and looked and she was there -
The Woman with the windblown hair.

Standing still, just like a statue
Windblown hair was all that moved
Cool and wary
Very scary
Truth, or something she must prove?
She turned around and bid me follow
To a clearing in a hollow
Soon I knew why I was there,
The Woman with the windblown hair.

Long years ago; forgotten summer
I met a woman with long hair
Very ****
Apoplexy
Caused me stand quite still and stare
To my surprise she then approached me
I stared, but she did not reproach me
Her beauty was without compare -
The Woman with the windblown hair.

She took my hand and bid me follow
To a clearing in a hollow, on that steamy summer day
Sun resplendent
Very pleasant
The grassy spot where we did lay
I loved her then, and tried to hold her,
The evening and her voice got colder
“We’ve had this afternoon to share,”
The Woman with the windblown hair.

“But I’ve a husband; he’ll soon be home.
You’re young, with life in front of you
I was only
Very lonely
I’ll ask forgiveness when it’s due”
She left me, with a final kiss,
“Respect me; Never speak of this."
She left, and left me standing there
The Woman with the windblown hair.

As I recalled those ancient memories
She turned and stared with eyes that burned
Both eyes teary
Very weary
“My husband never did return”
Suddenly the wind was shifting
The sun came out, the fog was lifting,
The Woman with the windblown hair
Was no longer standing there.

I stood alone for what seemed hours
What had happened? How was I supposed to feel?
Ghostly meeting
Very fleeting
Yet it seemed to me quite real.
I felt that I’d been taken there, and
The Woman with the windblown hair
Had spared a young boy’s future life
The boy who loved another’s wife.

Roger Turner - Poet
A darkened bar
An old guitar
A stage that once played host
To all the Delta greats and now
to Robert Johnson's Ghost

An old man
His spitting can
A boy from up the coast
Learning how to play the blues
In the home of Johnson's Ghost

You gotta feel the music boy
You sure don't feel too much
Your fingers skipping half the notes
You're playing double dutch
Slide it, let the music meld
That's what folks all want the most
You got to feel it, yes sirree
Like Robert Johnson's Ghost

Five hours passed
Time went fast
But what he learned the most
Was feel the notes
That were wrote
By Robert Johnson's Ghost

The spirit has to fill you
You have to suffer for the blues
You can't come in and play for us
In shiny, brand new shoes

The old man
his spitting can
Made the young boy cry
He played the notes
That Johnson wrote
on the day that Johnson died

Until you feel the music boy
And stop playing double dutch
You got to slide the fingers son
Don't use the guitar as a crutch
Remember where you're playing
And to who it still plays host
You're playing for the netherworld
And Robert Johnson's Ghost
