His love will always win
Mena Mulugeta May 2020
May 3rd
His love is better
His love is kind
His love is always patient
It holds no wrong
record in time.
His love breathes life into
my lungs and that’s the only
reason why I am alive.
He takes all my imperfections
and continues to refine.
Oh, the Great Potter
thank you for exposing
the depths of my soul,
the dirtiest parts of me
you call yours
even the ones that
I have tried to hide
the fears that think
they can conquer
me could never because
You already have.
And it’s all because
Of your Love it’s
Healing & It restores
You have my heart
All that I am belongs to
You. May Your
Kingdom come
and Your will be done
King Jesus ❤️

My beautiful BLACK people
Mena Mulugeta Feb 2020
time and time again
They've trapped us in a box
When this life gives us
multiple opportunities
to now grab our mind
and unlock these locks.
We can’t chain ourselves
to complacency and
root ourselves into
a negative mentality.
They have
physiologically conformed
us to feel what this world
wants.
Rooting us In fear
and not faith but anxiety
and insecurity, hatred but
not joy, innovation, and
LOVE
but depression
and failure don’t you see

they’re working hard
& motivated to define
      our ability.
Do you not see what
they’ve done, how
they are working hard
to steal our identity
by ultimately manipulating
us to think it’s okay
to Sulk into
comparison to others.
I tell you this
that this is the enemy
scheme captivating us
to not experience our
true ability to debilitate
us to not
see our courage
Evolution & journey.

America the Capital of
capitalism has
has compartmentalized
us dividing us,
by our ethnicity, our
nationality even a little
more concerning
engraving that If education
Wasn’t easy all along
It is
not a necessity.
It is not your destiny
to success but
it is a foundation for
change to not
keep us hostage in a
fixed mindset.
       SO
Let’s produce
EXCELLENCE
My beautiful Brown.
LOVING PEOPLE
please yearn to
Grow in self education.
Don’t you remember
our history our people
Were ripped away from
this privilege we
have right here
our people were
    ripped away
from their heritage
ripped from
their culture
brothers and sisters
don’t be conformed
to ignorance
Educate your mind
feed your soul
Understand
what this World
is trying to portray
as whole please please
stay alarmed
my beautiful brown people
Stay woke

It was time.
Mena Mulugeta Nov 2019
I loved you, and
every bit of I held on.
Until you had me realize
that it was time I broke free.
My wings yearned fly above
all things,
to taste something
that was good for me.
My soul, my spirit
cried day and night
and tugged on the
thought to just let go.
Told me to just leave,
to see what out there
in this lifetime but
to not harden my heart
but, to feel, feel everything.
It was a beautiful call
After all I Met love again.

Don’t dim your light
Mena Mulugeta Oct 2019
Sunshine please continue shine,
In this dark world we need your light.
Your soul has so much to offer this world,
to feed it the creative healing work
the King has taken time to piece
and puzzle together, so that YOU
can see how you’re truly defined.
          Please yearn to reach
          the days in this world
       where your light invades
        in the darkest of places.
Where when you touch you illuminate,
where you speak Gods healings begins to form. His word & Grace makes all new
Yes!! He chose you to perform miraculous
things, all because you chose
         not to dim your light.

Love letter to myself♥️
Mena Mulugeta Aug 2019
This is a love letter to myself that I’ve never received.
For all the times I almost forgot about my worth crying ,and sleeping anxiously. Merely realized how my heart is honey mashed into gold, and my sweet laugh is the taste of
tiramisu. My eyes sparkle like a shooting star.
I am everything I've ever wanted.
Sweetheart so continue to do you.

Fly higher pretty bird
Mena Mulugeta Aug 2019
There is a battle
that is working hard to
conquer you.
While the
knights crawl
Kings ****
Strong souls die,
but you arise.
Think of all that you’ve done to survive the
Bruises,
battle scars
It’s left
A mark
But
It never defined
who you are
You are crafting all you’ve
ever wanted
It is now your reality.
Live in your purpose
For that is all
that consistently belongs to you.

Courage
Mena Mulugeta Aug 2018
With her courage
there came many things.
Her was courage
was designed off of
her feeling nothing.
Her courage goes beyond
wonders of miles to see
beautiful things.

She is shaping herself
 into who
she would love to be.
So many things that
she thought were
 unseen, but her radiating
light drives
ones to courage.

Her courage
was designed
to help build others.
Her courage
was unbelievably heartfelt.
She fought her fears,
and doubts to find her Courage.
In the shadows
of emptiness and pain
is where her courage occurred
life sometimes is a trip, but you must keep on pushing though and have courage to believe that you can do whatever you put your mind to.

Rest in paradise
Mena Mulugeta Jul 2018
It’s deeper than that.
It’s deeper than the ocean.
It’s this feeling I can’t bare.
My heart thumping so quick

Adrenaline rush when I heard the
Words that you were gone.
Altitude is so high I can’t even cry.
12 Empire State buildings tall, and
I still really couldn’t reach my soul.
My emotions overpowering many things
Wishing you were here,
wishing there was a golden stairway to heaven.
I would climb milestones
just to hear your voice.
I wish I could come up home,
and sit down just to see your reflection.

You’re shining brightly
with flashes of light.
Looking like an Angel
I feel your presence.
  Things are unreal
  time is not ours,and
Forever you will be in my heart.
Rest In Peace to you beautiful souls.
May all you beautiful souls Rest In Peace Beruk

Love that
She's older now,
she is more clever things don't seem
to bother.
She would shatter you
with a bit of her consciousness
while she scortches you with her intelligence.
She is the definition of sparkle, it's something that you constructed
Through the destruction, you once had started.
It no longer exists I displayed out loud I'm no longer your bih I'm out.
You've taught me to love myself thank you.

A Golden Feel
Mena Mulugeta Jan 2018
I get lost beneath your wings
You give me love so endlessly.
I feel like I can barely breathe,
it's 2am I'm reciting a poem
so you understand
You're everything in a living dream.
Imaging how different my life would be
in 10 years. Telling others
how I fell in love with a soul that is drizzled in all gold.
Oh honey you've figured me out perfectly. You’ve played this game right
added pieces to this puzzle.

I am now completed love
oh what you've done to me.
Nevertheless thank you for this marvelous  feeling.

Love thyself
Mena Mulugeta Jan 2018
Beautiful African girl
you are worth more than
a million things often
times You don't realize
you worth more than a dream.
Love who youve become,
love your skin

realize you are sweet
just like milk & honey.
Beautiful African girl
do not be afraid
and not accomplish
things.
Look back at this
and realize what you mean.

Beautiful african girl
you’ve got a dream
go fulfill it never-stop
in what you believe.
