Socialist Tinge
a definite socialist tinge
has become embedded
in the Democrat Party's hinge
and few have taken notice
of its all pervasive impinge

from here on in Americans
must keep their eyes well peeled
as there's a rabid Vice President
who'll not be heeled

freedom of speech
and hard toiling enterprise
are things the leftists
so depsise

mainstream media is
the propaganda arm
and it advocates the dictum
of the socilaist's palm

don't be deceived into
believing an alternate view
for this peice of intel is
a pretty good review

Four Seasons Haiku's
Summer...

on cresting waves
surfers rode to the shoreline
as a hot sun shone

Autumn/Fall...

dainty elm leaves
twirled around like dancers
amid the south breeze

Winter...

mountain pinnacles
covered with heavy snow
showed out on high

Spring...

floral festivals
appeared in garden beds
during spring's warm phase

Remember A Time
who of us
can remember a time
when our lives were normal
of chime

the advent of Covid-19
put paid to everything
whereupon we were ******
into a malady's ring

still mask wearing is
mandatory
so too quarantining ever
compulsory
and not to forget the lockdowns are
obligatory

on a pandemic occuring our
daily routines aren't set in stone
for we've got to be more
adaptably prone

the scourge of the virus
has been intrusive
it's affected the world's population
by being so disruptive

we all hark back to the days
of free movement
and we're looking forward
to an existence of improvement

Haar Gown (Minute Poem)
last night a fog curtain crept in
dense was its skin
nowt could be seen
through the thick screen

staying long after dawn arose
with a heavy pose
its veil didn't lift
till late morn's drift

the compact shroud being on-going
by its showing
around our town
clad in haar gown

Shapeshifting
the art of shapeshifting
can't be underestimated
as its a talent Joe Biden
has well cultivated

at one point of time
he was a moderate within the party
yet he's currently exhibiting
a more radical propensity

the morphing from one idendity to
another is quite an accomplishment
and he's excelled in this particular
switching achievement

it is reminiscent of a
reptilian chameleon
tranforming his colour
to suit the party's environ
clouds smudged of a shade grey
hung around on this dull day
they blocked the sun's bright ray
cheerless their display

The Left's Ideal
the world is fast succumbing
to the left's ideal
for no other has a more
universial appeal

throngs and throngs of people
can't resist the left's message
as it is possessed of the strongest
kind of carriage

shortly the right side shall be
completely obsolete
for no one will be requiring
its once time honoured concrete

the left's take over is rapidly
taking place
and as it does we'll have it staring
us directly in the face
amid the dross treasures
can be
unearthed
whereby they are repurposed
and
rebirthed

just think of those many
items you've tossed in the
trash
not giving a thought as
to how they could
rehash

gems are discovered neath
the piles of
*******
and collectors bring them
back to life with a
refurbish

Endless Stupor's Thrall
into a coma the western
democracies did slip
and in this deep sleep state
they'd lost their grip

all awareness of any threat
which was posed
had been expunged from
their minds as they reposed

warning sirens were blasting
a message so loud of din
communism has landed at your doors
wanting to force its way in

too late for none heard
the wake up call
they'd been in an endless
stupor's  thrall

Feast
the world would be a safer
place
were Trump in the presidential
space

an always meandering old guy
known as Joe
is presently running the
adminstration's show

he's not possessed of a strong
backbone
which is sorely lacking in his
impotent weak tone

is it  any wonder why millions
of folks are currently saying
we'd like Trump's vigor to be
displaying

the axis of the earth shall
tilt  too far to the east
for there lies two men who'll
easily make of Joe a feast

the virus came
the virus stayed
and brought abnormality
to our life's parade

everything was thrown
into an uncustomary mode
as the virus spread its
unwanted episode

unto ourselves we all
did ask
when will the virus depart
our bask

it'll be here for a very long time

Fair And Square
he won the election
fair and square
and it did it with a
winning flair

ecstatic voters were
over the moon
as they'd have Joe calling
the country's tune

here it is almost one
hundred days on
and they're already wishing
to see more of Don

alas and alack they'd
wasted a good ballot ticket
by allowing the sleepy
one four years on the wicket

the air in their balloon
is really quite deflated
due to them feeling
not so well inflated

Sodden Cheeks
sodden cheeks
drenched in sorrow's repine
the drops fell
with a saddening gush
little by little
the sides of the
face felt less wet
as the air of solace
toweled the harrowed skin
for an age
drab raining clouds
prevailed
each day the tourment
of loss being there to
remind
of a suffering ache
of the stress in agony
of the constant wailing
not on the wane
out of the dark pall
of demise
emerges
the bright sun's light
reconciling
the hours of grief
NB: The above poem, was written after being given a word prompt by a friend... the word is GRIEF. It is written in (Free Verse) which I rarely use in my poetry.

Evermore Frail
evermore frail
the man will become
yet a great onus
of responsibilty rests
on his shoulder's rung

the nation is in want
of a stronger stewardship
for at present they've got

the camera will zoom
and observed therein

The Narcissist
an all consuming love
took hold of the
narcissist
his great admiration for self
was the everlasting
tryst

in front of the mirror he stood
kissing his own
reflection
whilst at it saying I'm so deserving
of my steadfast
affection

yes he was absorbed
in a love profound of
pond
this being the love he'd
keep fervently
fond

no one else could love him
with such a richness of
care
cause he was unable to
empathetically
share

the love he did bear inside
his overly indulgent
heart
would never ever
be cleaved
apart

Looking At The Map
fast forward to a future time
fast forward and the world map
looked so different
from a previous time

fewer and fewer countries
flew a sovereign flag
but many more were flying
the dominant red flag

it was as though other countries
had submitted to the red deal
and they'd done so with a fully
compliant deference seal

never before had the world map
undergone such a dramatic change
and on seeing it the people were heard
to say doesn't it look so strange

Shut Eye
sleeping on the job
is Joe's favourite pastime
he's always interested
in a reposing prime

it's a good thing that Ms Harris

whilst Joe snoozes and snores
without any great cares

Joe needs all the slumber
he can possibly come by
so don't make a noise or he'll
miss out on his daily shut eye

Dream
the
dream
he
held
for such a long time

and
that
dream
finally did materialize

he
presently
sits
in the seat of power

yet
his
memory
is seriously compromised

the
dream
job
requires a sharpness of mind

oft
he
can't
string
the words of a sentence together

his
minders
prepare
carefully
scripted notes for him to read

anything
he
says
that's
extempore
is full of gaffes

the
dreamer's
dream
will be a nightmare

as
citizens
of
the
country
are well awake

to
the
old
man's
incoherent babble
The rose of love withered on the vine
In lifeless disposition she'd remain
Her syrupy nectar slowly did decline
A bewailing sorrow in ending twain
No recapture of a past happiness
The petals perished browning to dark
Disappearing elation's gleefulness
A flower's heart minus her loving spark
Without the touch of fondness on the bloom
Her brilliant brightness faded well away
Those wondrous days were replaced by gloom
Sombre melancholy of saddest pall's shay
As dusk's hour turns to the dying closeness
Reflect on the rose's mood of dimness

the medieval mob

Daylight Savings
soon daylight savings

end
then our clocks can resume
their normal time's
trend

for six months of the year

the day of changing our clocks
