Thank You
Berrin Yakar Apr 4
Thank you,
To us, to all...
To everything made us cry...

To him, to her...
To whoever it is, stinging our hearts—
Creating tortured stars.

Everyone steps ahead,
Us—
Left behind, love-shaped scars.
It's National Poetry Month (even though I'm not from America) just a celebration post for my fellow poets, you truly are one of a kind.

Stained Paper
Berrin Yakar Mar 31
Can't help but wonder,
How cards handed fairly?
While you're wrapped in your lover's arms,
Detached, laughing towards cheerful days.
When my ink still slithers—
Over sticky tears, bleeding onto my paper.
Feeling stuck in the past

Weaving Through Knots
Berrin Yakar Mar 23
Shriveled-up gum,
Stretched rubber,
Strains of love...

A plucked thread at one end,
I'm the only one weaving our way.
But it keeps knotting up.
Yet despite the torn apart bond,
I'll be the one dragging it out.
Feeling of the inability to let go a relation even though the other side of that connection has already been left.

Playmate
Berrin Yakar Mar 19
What was it?
Best friends,you were saying.
No one gets me like you were doing.
But after all,it gets to a point.
You're too much, I'm leaving.
So do tell the most fun you've had
Me in your arms like a deer you were hunting,
Playing me,it must have been entertaining.
After some time people who praise your personality may use your uniqueness against you.

Pulled Away
Berrin Yakar Mar 16
All of the tears I poured,
Everyday lost in obsession,
Now look like just illusions,
That pulled me further,
From my wake up call.

I gave my all,
And it took so long
For me to finally realize,
What they did,
Can't get to me at all.
When you realize you're no longer defined by something that happened to you is the moment you're free.

Captivated Star
Berrin Yakar Mar 10
I can sense your hush,
Walking beside me,
What if our hands brush?
Why step away,
What's with the rush?

Sleepless nights,I wear them out.
But if i ran up to you,
Just wait and you'll see
How much i can show off.
Like the way moon charms the stars
I shine, flushed
Beneath your Light.
My tears floating as i become
Captive to your touch.
Feeling strong connection to someone and getting addicted to that closure.

Abondoned Queen
Berrin Yakar Mar 8
Do you recall when we were one?
Because it's the only thing what's been on my mind.
Texting till 4 am,you're laughing
Saying time flies when you're shining.

We even dreamt of ruling this town,
Generous king you were, handed me the crown
All of that, just for me to get left behind.
You have a new queen now,I must stay strong,
But tell me,was it fair to string me along?
Someone who made you believe you two were one may not act like that after a while.Just so you remember to complete yourself first.

Last Card Left
Berrin Yakar Mar 8
Hold on,don't leave me just yet,
I haven't played my last card left.
Whoever you want to see,I'll reflect.

I hope my jokes land right,
Funniest story I know, just to keep you light.
Won't be washing where you just touched
So maybe you'll notice how much you're adored.

It' okay,I'll let you correct
Carve me out,piece by piece
But I'm begging,please
Hold on,don't leave me just yet.
Trying to keep someone in your life while losing yourself in the process.

Moonlit Allure
Berrin Yakar Mar 7
Late were the nights when you touched my soul,
Gentle,yet so cruel.
The world lay lost in restless phantoms,
Just us awake,lost in allure.

Our hands intertwined,fierce and fevered,
Even awake from  dreams, desire pulled us near.
The heat of your kiss lingered got me acting like a fool,
As my heart bloomed under your rule.
Just my thoughts about how affection can leave such an imprint on you.
Berrin Yakar Mar 7
Last time I had a dream, it was with you.
Last time I flew, it was with you.
And I know you felt that way too.

Called and said you don’t dream of joy no more,
Don’t know your nowadays, though.
If she gave you life and new hopes—
That’s the gunshot echoing, shattering me through.

The bitter dark, the vengeful lips,
Most of my fury comes from this—
Having to leave my last peaceful sleep.

But if it's really worth trying, then there,
Please, give me maybe some tips,
So my wicked thoughts and angry vows
Can finally let you be"
This is a personal piece from my soul which showcases the bitterness of getting left behind.
