Stripping the sheets that took away a soul
Life goes on we just replace it with a new one

Monthly by monthly days go by
Its not always sunshine and rainbows oh my
The fragile soul that was left here to rest
Will forever be ingraved here in my head.

Goodbye forever and may you rest in peace
I will remeber you all piece by piece

Today was my sister’s birthday
But a day that turned gray
A day that we were celebrating
But took a family member away

This day happened so fast
A day that made everyone in my family gasp
But this day was going to happen sooner or later
On this day my lovely grandmother past

I woke up in the morning
I saw a text
She’s fine
That’s what I thought in my mind

I panicked inside
I hoped in the car with my two sisters and I
While my dad
Oh my dad stayed behind

We drove with silence in the car with no one speaking
But what we did not know was that my grandmother was already sleeping

We pulled up to her neighborhood
When my dad called my sister
He said girls please come back home
We rushed back as fast as we could

My dad stood out front
Tears streamed down his face
Trying to keep it all in
As I quickened my pace

We ran up to him with our arms wide open
As we cried along with him
No words needed to be spoken

But this day was going to happen sooner or later
On this day my lovely grandmother past

Do you know me?
I grew up without a mother
She left when my oldest sister was three
Even when my sister was close to dying
She spent money on drugs instead of for flying

I hated my dad for keeping us away from her when I was little
When I was 16 I realized she was brittle
When it was my sister's graduation day
They talked for one minute because she had nothing to say

She told my dad that she was going to move out here
A year later and she's not even here
She gave my hopes up
So much that it felt like a breakup

She asked my dad when I was born
That pierced my heart with thousands of thorns
Does she even deserve the title mother
When she lies one after another

The forbidden love of a sunflower
It stands up tall and proud as it shows off its morning yellow
A sunflower simply can not love
The end draws near with every shadow that passes over
When darkness hovers, the dear sunflower closes its delicate petals and says a final goodbye
It falls just so it can pick itself up and try again when the morning sun comes

Dewy rain drops fall from the eye of the hurricane
They pour into a puddle of loneliness as they huddle together but yet still alone
The Earth rumbles with sadness as it shakes beneath
Grabbing its surface trying to keep everything grounded
Thunder roars from the core and everything falls apart
This time there is no rainbow after the storm
You

You
My face lights up like a little ******* Christmas when I see you
It's been only day or so but I won’t stop loving you
You make me into a diamond when I feel like a piece of coal
As you shine my day and make me sparkle.

Your smile is the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen
As it brings joy to all
it is something that cannot be unseen
Every day you treat me like a queen
As I ascend my throne
You are my king
