Alina Dec 2020
I hope that you dance in the rain and soak in the night. Sunny days were made for others, not distant from light. You outshine the stars with your eyes so bright. Because you my darling, are a child of the night.

It’s a dark and chilly outside,
As well as inside my heart.
It time to go to sleep heavy hearted.
I am having a doubt that will I raise tomorrow,
Will there be morning outside with bright sunshine,
Will I be able to look tomorrow?
Now I must slumber in my pillow with bliss and turn off the lamp forever
Maybe I will never leave that pillow now
But I am going to slumber.
Without knowing that whether this night will end Or not.

I hope that this will not be an end of my life.
I hope that I will raise tomorrow and see the glare,
Of that of my heart.
This night will end up soon because
Hope is the greatest faith, isn’t it?

Sometimes, in the early hours of December
It drizzles, just a little bit
The dew remembers
And does not complain
As it knows how moody is the rain
The dew quietly goes down the green grass
Into the soft brown mud, its resting place
Early next morning
It glistens and gives out a smile
As it loves the sunshine
I know now that
you can't be my
ray of sunshine,
yet you linger on
with your pale blue eyes.

You light up my cloudiest days and my darkest nights
My evening star, you shine so bright.

You warm up my coldest mornings and the windiest days. You make my fears go away.

You fill up my heart with love, laughter and light. You make my soul soar, let’s take flight.

Long nights consume the slivers of day
Darkness is the Alaskan way
Has the song sung in summer flew away with the birds?
Our have we just forgotten the words?
Been in the shadow cast by winter's arrival
Since then the cold has been my rival
Branches break the sky up like pieces of glass
I look upwards as I walk waiting for danger to pass
Over hills the moon hangs in late afternoon
Hovering like a half-inflated balloon
Commitment to visibility not faltering a bit
Sometimes partly hidden but never completely quits
Dreams of warmer weather weave strands throughout my brain
Trying to ignore the snowfall exclaiming outside the windowpane
Putting all effort into embracing the ice
I can't be the only one who thinks some sunshine would be nice
I swear I was born in the wrong state hahaha

it is gray outside
of my window,

and it is also
gray in this room.

but outside,
the gray is obvious.

the clouds are
blocking out the sun.

and inside,
the gray is irrelevant
because you shine
so bright that

I am only ever
looking at you.

the world outside
fades away in here.

it is beautiful and
sunny and vibrant.

here, the stress of
the world outside
can't touch me.

I see no sadness
or pain or fear.

I only see you.
I only ever see you.

You used to date someone who expresses her love for you in
secret love letters,
in far-away stares,
and in closed doors.

You used to settle
for kisses behind curtains,
attachments on empty hallways,
and memories being hidden.

Until you met me
in broad daylight,
in sunny days,
and blue skies.

Until I made you realize that
you are not meant
to be locked
in darkness.

You are meant to be free—
in colours,
in sunshine,
out there.

And the leaves alight,
One by one by one
Float, dance, twirl, in the sun
A bright and beautiful end
To a season well begun!
