Close your eyes
Take a step

Into the soft grass

Velvet blades in rows
Start tickling your feet

Look to the heavens

The sky a deep navy
Like ocean blue

Stars flicker and giggle

For along the horizon
Lie tips of sleeping dawn

Your feet begin to wander

The wind whispers a breeze
Poking cooly at your cheeks

Fireflies flutter peacefully around you

A heavy veil of fog
Descends upon your figure

Rest soundly until morn

We laughed
Scrolling through the new arrivals.
Bird Box, The Little Hours.
The last movie gone off.
Your head against my shoulder.
My head sunk in the curve of your hair.
The couch beneath us,
Critically acclaimed movies seen through one eye.
Peeking through spaces of hair.
To be honest.
None of the movies mattered.
Agreeing to disagree.
Our binge put on hold.
The attention put on you.
Being in your presence.
The way you say my name,
The way you stop and stare.
Our connection to movies
Old & new.
Easing into comfort,
Readjusting my body to see you better.
My head in your lap.
Conversation progressing.
All the favorite parts to my favorite movie in view

Two weeks ago,
I said farewell.

To my home.
To my country.
To my family and friends.

My time away was relaxing.
The people were lovely.
But honestly,

I'm dealing with re-entry.
People expect me to just fit in,
But I'm suffering from jet lag,
And am ready to sleep.

If I could just catch a break,
A week, maybe two.
I could get back to normal,
Get my life back on track.

But no.

This is the problem;
Life goes on,
A sink or swim situation.
If you can't catch up,
You're out.

Just like that.
An explanation.

Looking at pictures
Running water heals my soul
Tea's brewing away
Listen to running water as you work!
Green tea's a brewin'

Golden rays fleeting through, letting the warmth seep into your bones,
White sheets against your bare skin, joyous chirps of young sparrows,
The aroma of sweet bitter coffee and burnt toast wafting through the crisp morning air.

The cleansing
The clean clear cleansing
It’s necessary
The heavy of the day is gone
Pushed down by soft swift hands
The breath is warm and inviting
Such sweet warm encompassing breath
This breath kisses the glass gently
And it kisses me
And I’m covered
And then
And only then I know
I am clean
And I am free
The liberation that comes from a hot shower after a stressful day.

The wind did come.
The clouds like sails, soft on a mild day.
There was no rain.
Onward the clouds sailed.
Thick, to and fro.
The sun upright peeked through.
Slant beams.
The clouds like sails drooped.
Sagging in the distance.
Parting ways they swam.
Creating shapes, more soft ridges.
The clouds men.
Ever more to rejoice.
The birds like currents.
The bluest of oceans.
Below I gaze, light in heart
Watching them sail on
