Its a memory captured forever, in its own little flat object, that can be torn with the slightest touch.
Sometimes its all we have left of a previous adventure or maybe the night that no one remembers.
Humans need to treasure these moments for as long as they can, some might not want to because of reasons, others might not be able to control what they forget.
Memories will fade and turn into nothing, photos will fade too, but they go black and white and stay forever.

The time in my youth that taught me about true peace
Was fishing with my Papa on the coast of the East
We'd get up in the morning before sunrise
Papa would wake me with sparkle in his eyes
I'd jump down from the bunk bed
When my feet hit the floor Smells of
Grandma's hickory bacon would rush to my head
She would wrap the bacon up in a biscuit and pack it to go
I'd grab the bag of bread crumbs we'd been saving
for the seagulls, to strew
We'd pile it all in the SUV
The poles clasped firm on the front bumper
Papa's clever bumper holder made of PVC
I can smell the salt air so clear
Papa and Grandma are always with me
Ahh, that is true tranquility!!!
THE GOOD OLE DAYS
PEACE IN MY HEART THAT WILL NEVER DEPART put this on a notch above the daily fluff for Father's day  Love you Papa Angel, to stay!!

Someday I will fade
Just like a photograph in one of those books you keep
A distorted memory; there but forgotten
I am nothing but a familiar echo, haunting you from the past
I still live in the moments where our eyes would meet
When we would communicate with smiles and stolen kisses
You were my future
I am your past.

We were barely teens together
and now we're barely sober
on opposite sides of the country

I see photos of her,
sparking thoughts I wish I could erase

She gained so much weight,
I wonder what happened,
She used to look so good

In my critical analysis of her figure
(I could earn a PhD in Judgment of Others)
I miscount the curves of her face,
the shadows falling where they should not be

Her cheeks, I see
(they've gotten bigger)
but I forget to cancel out
the inflation from her smile

Your photographs are all I keep
I keep them all so I won't weep
I weep when thoughts of you go deep
Take out this heap, take out this heap.

Your photographs are memories
Memoirs of you that keeps my peace
My peaceful days are mine, at least
You give me ease, you give me ease.

Your photographs remind of you
You seem so near, you always do
Do you believe, you make me blue
Each time you go, each time you go?

So please, my dear, stay with me
Stay with me and let me see
See how our love can make us free
A love to be, a love to be.

What you don't see
is the way I wait,
watching her braid
worries in her hair
speckling small daisies,
my eyes like tumblers
gulping her in swigs
as she perches glasses
on the arch of her nose,
and then we'll take
a photo
to remark on how
we were back then
and now.

What do you reflect in here, oh boy
with gentle spirits flying over your eye
What mysteries in here do you find
your eyes goggling confusing your mind
Scan it slow, peruse it mild
Regard it kindly, without going blind

Is it a desire waiting for chance?
The fire rising high with every glance
Do you see a person glaring at you
A graceful smile to reduce anger to few
If you see a mister gaping at wonder
Enjoy the questions surrounding in ponder
Fixate your stare, mine harder with glimpse
rubberneck your blinks, fly over realms

If that you must be ogling with greed
Let the bell ring to control your need
Be honest if you are leering at space
Contemplate your reflection, do not outface
Is it right, I think, you trying for peep
But there are mysteries shining deeper than deep
You can't just dip, You shan't just skim
Let mysteries glow real befo' you gloat in whim
