For I have never seen such a beautiful sight,
Eyes rich with knowledge, lips plump with wisdom,
Every word, every look, every breath filled with
passion and aspiration.

For I have never seen such a terrifying sight,
Eyes rich with knowledge, lips plump with wisdom,
Every word, every look, every breath filled with
passion and aspiration.
Sam Knaus Nov 2014
I value my light.
I value the rain that I can dance in
and the words and actions that make me laugh
that make my broken wings take to the air.
I value the virtual worlds that distract me
from reality
in the best way possible.
I value simplicity.
I value the writing that shields me.
I value the ones who protect me.
I value the notes and chords
that soothe my aches, dry my tears
and numb my pain.
I value the eternity that passes me by
every time I look into your eyes,
every kiss carries the gentleness of a first
but the intent of a thousand to follow,
but a thousand could never be enough
to show you what you mean to me.
I value the way that you wreck
everything about me
in the best possible way.
I value the things that show me
there's still a little bit of beauty
and hope
left in this world.
The word freedom needs perspective
because you say you wouldn't feel free
were you not cuffed to me,
and I could say the same about you
a thousand times over.

the rustling of the palms
are the bells of this wasteland
a grand symphony, for deaf ears
honestly obliging to dance
Found this old poem I wrote, and thought I'd share
Lunar Luvnotes Dec 2014
He scrambles to the next lover,
to soothe his own pain,
to scramble up their life,
to match his chaos brewing like coffee.
To rob them of reality,
of up from down,
rob them from someone who would consume their whole being,
not spitting out one seed,
who would be concious of just whom they are loving.
For in truth, when he said he loved me,
when he pressed his nose to mine,
when our auras conjoined...
what he really meant was,
I love not being lonely.
For love does not just throw up the white dish towel and die.
We do not mean to scramble up what we want and what we need inside,
it just happens from time to time.
Afterall, I'm the indulgent one who bit,
the half soul, half ego ***** who asked for cheese on top.
Protesting as a vegan means nothing in truth,
when I've just as soon devoured what's offered up too soon.
My system was not ready for eggs,
for dairy,
I threw it all up.
Then when my system was realized and ready,
I wondered why his breakfast plate couldn't magically be resurrected,
hot off the stove of "love".
When I threw it all up,
he took offense, rightfully.
He broke the plate on which he served me.
From the diner, he banished me.
He said, I thought you were ready!
At the sight of what looks like insufficient culinary ability,
I cannot have you here, this liability,
I am sorry.

I was sitting patiently at the hair salon when a thought struck me.  I observed people around me. I observed the husband and his wife connect, laughing humbly at each other's jokes that weren't very well constructed.  I observed people walking left and right past the salon through the big glass windows.  The pedestrians would glance back every now and then, as they paced ever so quickly to their destination.  The thought that struck me was how disconnected I was while being connected, simultaneously.  The people didn't know me and I didn't know the people, on a deep level.  I enjoyed how close the relationships they all separately had, though.  In a way, the relationships I observed that were very disconnected from me made me feel...connected.  It's an odd feeling to explain, but I felt warm.
It's fun to wonder what people are up to.

The acoustics in your skull
hinder what you think people hear
when you speak

The book cannot read itself

"You need to step into the real world. You're living a fantasy"

Sorry Ma but that life's not for me.

                                          So I'll just sit slack

                       And kick back to

My own zone of **reality
Cause it's all relative any way right? All a matter of perspective

I remember the first time I saw your face.
You, with an intense stare, a perplexed glare,
scrutinizing everything that was there.
Searching..
Looking for the perfect rhyme, an eye-catching design.
Going down the line I hoped you would find joy in mine,
and you did.
I remember the energy in your smile on the ride home.
Your nervous hand was hesitant to put pen to paper, wanting everything to be perfect.
Every piece of that puzzling emotion put together in a way that would  show how much you loved her,
and soon you could.
You opened my chest and on my heart you wrote what was on yours.
From that point forth I became a door.
I was an extension of your adoration and affection.
You felt like you were on top of the world,
and you were.
I remember the excitement the day you gave me to her,
I felt it too.
The words were coming alive, flowing from her lips like the most intoxicating wine.
Oh, how I wanted her to love you,
and for a moment she did.
But after a while I was put in a box.
I collected dust while she became bitter; a war was started,
one with no winner.
The words on my heart had lost their glimmer,
and so did yours.
I remember the last time I saw your face.
Unfamiliar, Unattached, you were not the same.
Something came, a sadness untamed.
Those words on my heart became a source of pain.
So you ripped me apart..
Piece by piece..
Just like she did to you.
I wholeheartedly encourage feedback. I have an insane amount of content and it anything you've seen thus far has interested you and you would like to see more I would be beyond happy to oblige. Thank you for taking the time to read my work!

In glorious flight owning daylight
You magistrate freedom across
An ocean with your own box
Of twilight that you share
In a land of fish
A moonlit wish
With wings that
Kiss the
Sky

Throughout your expeditions to ground
Your voice is a dynamic sound
None can ignore your presence
What would Pandora say
When you sing that way?
Higher you fly
Distances
Many
Won't

Instruct us to use our heart compass
Open our eyes to perspective
Show us potential to live
When self-doubt is about
Like a grain of sand
May our cares be
Found without
A need
For

The liberty of our latitude
Is the length of our attitude
The way the wind blows effects
The direction we go
Our choices to be
Curiously
Ebb and flow
Waving
Lo

Behold a new dawn of bright feather
Consider the stormy weather
Notice how cloud and sun
Witness the Mother
Nature at play
Survey to
Coastal
Bay

May we find our way as you have shown
Limitless unbounded and flown
So shallow is the worry
No longer a fury
A calming has come
Soaring above
With truth in
Our hearts
Won

Riding the currents of emotions
Soaring aloft mental oceans
Wings spanned in physical worlds
Discover us great pearls
Of wisdom and poise
Joyful in noise
Good solid
Gifts of
Sage

Cleansing our spirits of past trifles
Being careful not to stifle
New growth with every gust gained
A quill, a crest, a quest
A mountain peaked with
Knowledge like the
Pier we are
Destined
To

A gate to become the best versions
Of our outstanding self-landing
Into the stars we have been
The fringe dust of pinion
Divine with the wind
Beginning free
And renewed
With no
End
