Angie S Dec 2017
today i wore a new perfume
with the warmth of vanilla
and a hint of lavender
i wonder, if i were to
hold you close to me,
would you find it comforting

or should i just tell you
where i got the perfume?
originally written nov. 26.
more details about this poetry project of mine? i'm putting all of my november poetry (30 poems) with revisions as well as a lil note by me into a .pdf or something to be downloadable for free. also considering printing a few copies and selling them at a low cost to people irl.
no set date for release yet! though i hope to get very close if not finished by the end of the month?

She lay in bed,
her body a poem
upon my chest.
A sweet perfume
of rose memory
wafts in the space
between our breaths.
A silent incantation
disorients the voices
in my head and it is quiet.
Our embrace is poetry,
and there are no words.
Just the silence between
lovers, whispered nothings.
I hold her tight,
drawing her to me
intent upon fading
into the memory of a rose.

As we fight against time,
Only your scent survives.
I half remember your smile,
Some ideas too,
The shape of your *******,
The size of your *******,
Some of the marks on your naked skin.
The smell of your armpit appears in my memory,
Your mouth after countless cigarettes,
Some tobacco,
Some cannabis.
The scent of your perfume
Mixed with salty sweat.
That musk around your belly button
And the smell of waking up with sour kisses,
To much ***** the night before.
I can't remember your eyes,
I had to leave.
Scenting your perfume
on another man was
like hearing your voice
in the dark but never
reaching your touch

white walls peppered with stickers
       photographs
               concert tickets pinned to cork-boards
fairly lights around a bed frame
   notes on mirrors
     "sort out folders"

there is a desk
coffee-stained in rings
camera sim card clusters
the "Italian phrase book and dictionary"
lies open in dusty light
a bag of muesli

half-empty perfume bottles
sunglasses
a dream catcher
makeup brushes on the floor beside a
full length mirror

***** converse in the corner
heeled brown boots
a night gown and slippers
hair ties dropped on carpet

ring binders piled on drawers
revision booklets
a guitar hanging on the wall (used often)
doodles of thin women in a leather journal

a poem book by the bed
secret notebooks under pillows
cigarette boxes hidden in pencil cases
french whiskey buried in the closet
behind a bag of barbies
what does the room tell you about the person who lives in it

I wear her rose petal eau de parfum
So that you turn your head when I walk by
Just enough to trigger that brain of yours
Into a ***** thought when I catch your eye,
Trick your senses to believe I'm her
Spark a desire to grasp me tight
I just want my lips all over you
Not for forever, just for one night.

I'm the type of person
That wears a gas mask
In the midst
Of flower petals

Simply because
The hallucinogenic scent
Reminds me
Too much
Of your perfume.
