I want to climb this mountain

I fear not its height

the mountain becomes tiny

when there is a belief in victory in me

i want to climb this mountain

i fear not the dense brambles and thorns

so be it if i had to leave behind

a trail of my own blood

i will still break through the spiked army in the end

i want to climb the mountain

i am not afraid of tigers nor leopards

as long as there is a shotgun in my hand

the beasts will run off

with tails between their legs

i will climb this mountain

i am not afraid of bumpy roads

as long as i treat it like staircase

the mountain is nothing but a lotus

at my feet.

Ahead with everyone else, you felt happy
Like the final lap of the race, feeling like you’re free
Then you thought to yourself Hey, I’m going to win!
Expected and believed that others will be left in bin

You slowed to run, thinking they couldn’t catch up
Then a moment passed, someone just nabbed the title to the top
It *****, but it’s your fault in the first place
Thinking high on the momentary feeling of trouncing their pace

Always remember that expectations give you a false perception
Overwhelmed by the thought of overcoming and anticipation
Thinking you’ll win, you’ve let your guard down
Ignoring the fact that it’s not yet over in vying for the crown

Even with hard work and being passionately determined won’t cut it
If your goal is to win whatever it takes as long as you see it fit
While you may scowl for second, the guy in third may even laugh
At the fact that he may not be the best, but he won and that’s enough

I am the new divine
Aten, I rise and shine.
My thoughts were rattling
dangerous and I was battling
the odds. I have overcome
the big battle of the asylum.
Things change as well as the water
under the bridge, and the slaughter
of my demons isn't hard anymore.
I am stronger than ever before.

Hey you
Did anyone ever tell you you're beautiful?
With all your flaws and mistakes
Your imperfections is what makes you great
Your inner beauty is something they can't take
-
Hey you, yes you
Did anyone ever tell you that you're cool
Don't let anybody make you feel like a fool
I know this world can be cruel
Don't let them get to you
Believe in yourself
That's the number one rule
-
I know how it feels to be degraded
The judgment was weighing heavy on me
I started getting faded
I couldn't look at myself in the mirror
All I saw was what the world had concluded
I'm still struggling to let go of that illusion

Nothing's too hard or impossible
Baby steps, no need to stress
When to you the path is visible
You just need to do your best

The fear you harbor in your heart
Is not because of your limit
But it's because of someone else's goals -
You're afraid that you won't reach it.

Your template is your latest high score
No them, just you versus you on the floor
If you fall you'll get up, that's the spirit
All you need now is to just  DO IT!
We sometimes see life as a test but fail to realize that we can't copy anyone else's answers, simply because we have different questions.

Inkless pen,
Broken hands,
Empty mind,
But a poet's love
For poetry,
Will forever reside,
Inside the heart.

Dear self,
Tonight is hard.
You are being flooded
By intrusive memories,
And your mind is muddled
With self doubt and destruction.
Vices beckon
Like skeletons dressed as old friends
And the emotional scars
Sting just as much as the physical ones.

Sweet girl,
You are tracing old marks
In your skin
Please
Do not repave them.
Remember all the times like these?
Consumed by darkness that
Eclipses the sun itself.
How many times have you crawled out
Of the trenches?

My darling dear,
Do not doubt your resilience.
We both know that
Tomorrow will come
And while I cannot promise it
Will be brighter,
It will still be new.
Today I logged on for the first time in nearly 3 years. I’ve been going through an incredibly difficult time lately, and I stumbled across a piece I wrote in 2016 titled “Something New” I’m so grateful I did, as it brought on the motivation to write again for the first time in what feels like forever.

This is the revised version, 5 years later. I made it a new post because I feel I am a different person today, and I wanted to have a record of my progress.

Thank you for reading, here’s the link to the original:

Dear motivation,
Without you I’m just a loading screen stuck in its animation.
Dear motivation,
Without you I’m lost in a void of lazy fascination.
Dear motivation,
Without you I’m just another piece of lonely fabrication.
Dear motivation,
Without you I’m stuck in a loop of endless imagination.
Dear motivation,
Without you I would lose my only foundation.

Air
may the gust of air, remind you that the world is spinning.
let it not instil worry,
let it not instil stress.
let it teach you instead....
to be anything BUT 'still'
bless this ground with your dance if you are able,
and if today you are not?
let it inspire tomorrows mind...

Now
Sometimes, when it seems as if the sky
and earth,
And past
and future,
are colliding,
with no horizon
to keep them apart,
I like to close my eyes,
and think of Now.

Yesterday once made up
                                         the Now,
with colours so vivid and explosive,
sounds so vibrant and patterned,
feelings so tangible,
so real,
it seemed as if you would never be able to forget them.
But Now has turned them into
                                                                   echoes,
and Now has made the colours bleed out
into sepia browns and soft greys,
so that the image,
the memory,
is clear –
but the character, the youth, the feeling,
is disappeared.

Yet this is hope –
For today will soon be yesterday,
And tomorrow will always lie awake,
So when it feels like today is just another today,
So why worth the pain,
Grasp the morning with your two palms,
And paint yellows and fiery oranges,
And grasp the evening,
And paint purples and dusky pinks,
So that today is not just another today,
But a new today, a new Now, a new day.

And if it feels as if today will never
end,
Just remember,
that when gravity pulls you down,
and it seems light cannot get through –
it is Time that tethers us all,
like golden trees are tethered to the earth,
and silvery fish are tethered to the tide
and time will move on,
and heal and change and blend and be
the light you now see - or just
                                                     a distant
memory.

For memory is a strange thing,
Like pebbles shaped by water,
It fluctuates and alters with the forces of the sea,
Forming the bedrock of the ocean, yet everchanging
And what was once the present,
is now the past,
So that all you really have to hold on to,
To tether yourself when the current seems too strong,
To rely on when the future may not be a given,
Is your present, your today, and
our Now.
