My earth was waiting for your stormy footsteps.
They say,
It's not a crime to love what you can't explain.
So you'll be my secret forever
just like the sea's oath to the inquisitive siren.
I promise to hide you in
the crimson of my eyes,
in the blues of my veins.

Blissful,
   Blissful,
      Blissful,
         Fall the starry skies:
And the clouds that chime above
In night time do the otters cry
And wolf-men shout beside the dove:

      Angels sing in pockets queer,
         Fairies dance along the spark,
      Boughs of faces soon appear
As branches watch throughout the start:

      Owls sing as crickets please,
The moon lifts her vision for the sky,
      Blissful,
         Blissful,
            Blissful,
               Fall the starry spheres:
For every moment of the night.

Decayéd the sky!
   It throbs in black,
And senile the moon,
    She sit afraid:
Recall back the stars,
   To help the Earth,
Infernal the clime
   On darkness day:

Renewed-well the trees,
   To breathe us right,
Relighted the stars—
   But blackened all—
Refiltered the dirt,
   The breeze takes eyes—
But soured the work,
   By crows in fall:

Despondent the moon;
   The sun is gone:
Decrepit the wave,
   On weakened sea;
Uncharted on earth,
   Where none belong,
And a wilted land—
   The black in skies.

One drunken night,
We confessed our love,
Under the skylight,
Like it's all we have.

The moon was there,
Our only source of light.
The witness of our love,
Is one majestic satellite.

Dazzling were your eyes,
Amidst the darkness of night.
Let's stay here for a while,
For "we"  just feels so right.
After writing this piece a storyline suddenly popped into mind and I'm contemplating if I should do it because I'm bad at writing filler scenes or casual conversations uwu.  A penny for your thoughts?

I used to think I was a sunset lover,
Constantly chasing a beautiful end
That my heart couldn’t trust another
And I’d always have to pretend

I used to think that love was like fire
And I, a moth bound to it’s flame
But true love goes beyond burning desire
Settling into embers that refuse to wane

I no longer dread for dusk to fall
Or yearn for the sun to stay
I search for solace in the darkness
Until the stars come out to play

By now I’d usually be sleeping,
Dreaming of another day
Instead the moon finds me weeping
And asks if all is okay

I tell her of the spark in your eyes
How your touch would make me melt
How I believed I’d found my twin flame
And how intensely alive I once felt

But you can’t fight fire with fire
And I know this because I’ve tried
It’s not worth the bridges burnt
Or all the scars we try to hide

She listens quietly, glowing with empathy
And for a moment I think it might rain
But then she whispers to me softly;
Tomorrow you will begin again.

Scrabbling in the ground, I search for flowers
Alas, it is winter, and the trees are barren.
Do you remember the bird you loved as a child?
You clipped its wings so it would stay
Forever gilded in its cage in golds and silvers,
Yet it would not sing.
When I close my eyes, the shadows meld behind me
A thousand nameless faces, a thousand faceless names
October drifts slowly. The night is longer still
Trapped under the red light of the everlasting moon.
Kagome Kagome.
Trying out a different style, inspired by a Japanese children’s rhyme, Kagome Kagome. My take was on a theory that the lyrics refer to the experiences of “a woman forced into prostitution, who has seen so many men, she cannot remember all of them and wonders when she will be able to escape” (Wiki). I reenvisaged some of her struggles/emotions in the setting of the “Floating world” of the Edo era. Commonly referred to as the “flowers” of the red-light district, the prostitutes/courtesans were not allowed outside the walls except for once a year for Hanami (viewing cherry blossoms). The title “Sleepless Town” refers to Kabukicho, Tokyo’s modern red-light district, perhaps nebulously drawing a parallel to the similar experiences in the present day. Also inspired by an old Japanese folk song Obokuri Eeumi, a haunting and beautiful song about a person and their family living in poverty. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEQtkLNTmRs. Hope I was being respectful with cultural references (please let me know if I need to change anything).

When I am over the moon
feels of a mo reaching for the stars.
The very moment I feel it the most
my toes are dipped in the dust.
The moon forgets the power she holds with or without the sun.

The storms she brings with the tides always in her favor.

Shifting and going as she fades into her many faces.

The power she lends to every miserable woman.

Trying to start a new, Learning their worth.

She keeps forgetting that she doesn't need the sun to shine.

That she is all that she needs to become divine.

She always forgets.

Moonlight,
Set me free
I beg of you,
Hear my plea
Take this darkness
Away from me
Give me a brand new
Epiphany
So Mote It Be
