Take a BITE from this map,
See where it leads you....
Nowhere places...!
From taste, to taste.

You rearrange the constellations
Of my compass
With the grace of an orchestra
With the majesty of symphony
Yet you keep my central star intact
The spine of the cellular staircase
You shine the way
Two steps at a time
Not leading; keeping company
On a voyage in the dark
Beneath the sails of night

Map
I'm looking for a map
One that can show me the way
To a place I've never been, but always wanted to go
Because I'm having trouble on my own
Seems like I've been lost for ages
Walking the same worn path, asking myself questions
What is my purpose?
Why am I here?
Is there a reason why my life has to be this way?
All of the questions
But nobody has the answers

and so I left
with a bag full of clothes
and head full of dreams

the setting sun
lit my way in gold
a warm breeze on my face
helped me put a smile on

No map or phone or gps
no direction and no care
forward. just forward
and forward still

and forward still

With every breath
Every touch
Every thoughtfeelingdream
Joysorrow pain and healing
The map of our soul multiplies -
An infinite fractal reflection
Of the universal design

And we move further away
From simple answers

At the beginning
We are lost,

Forced to amble the
Surface until we have
Created something great.

Our feet firmly planted,
No doubts in our minds,
We are not afraid of the
Places we have not
Travelled.

We are content with
What we haven’t seen
Because we
Know
What lies there.

Perhaps,

Though,
We’ll allow our closed minds
To wander to the unknown,
The places unmarked on the
Map,
If only for a moment.

We’ll lift our heads against
The force of our own realities
To finally face what lies above.
We’ll see the vast Abyss
Of lost opportunities
Within the stars.

Our hearts will sink to
Our bowels,
And for once in our
Egocentric lives,
We’ll believe in some
Greater meaning.

We’ll suddenly fall
Simplistically short
Of all fantasies self-held.

We’ll realize
What we gave up
To be who we are.

Last night’s nightmares carved me open
and bled me of all belief-
Like they had a map guide to every vein
and knew where your love was stored
I woke this morning so very empty
and tired.

The lines on his face-
road map of a life well lived.
A map to follow.
A nod to my Uncle Mark.
